Can't believe I just discovered this bakery!! There was a big section of pastries and desserts. I was pretty overwhelmed when I got in line (in the best way possible). Parking was a little difficult to find. I ended up getting everything for takeout and doing meter parking at the train station parking lot. If you know what you want, pro-tip: Order for pick-up online or delivery! SERVICE: 4/5 - Service was good overall! I ordered pick-up, but still got stuck waiting in line. I would have loved it if the bakery had a pickup window, but that's just me. The ladies in the bakery were so nice and super personable. Made for a good experience. FOOD: Everything was AMAZING here and not expensive at all. I loved the pineapple carrot cake (wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of carrot and pineapple) and the coffee cake (probably one of the best coffee cakes I've ever had). Decided to stop in here after food shopping at H-Mart in Edison and I'm extremely glad I did. I ordered 2 coconut cookies, the captain crunch cookie and Chef Lu kindly recommended the "It's never a mistake" cookie to me. Everything was great and my family agreed as well. I also found the prices to be very reasonable for the size and quality. This is THE spot for dessert in the area and I plan to support Pastry Lu anytime I find myself around Edison/Metuchen. read more

What a cute little cafe! Stopped in around lunchtime to get some desserts to bring home and as soon as we walked in we were smacked in the face with the smell of seclusion's baked goods. The staff was so sweet and helpful in guiding us through some of there popular choices, and they encouraged us to try some of the free samples which there were tons of! We ended up getting a few cookies to take home. We had to get one of the 1/2 pound captain crunch cookies, and we also got a chocolate chip and sprinkle cookie to go along with it. They weren't wrong on hyping up their cookies! The texture of all 3 were perfectly soft and chewy. Love the sea salt taste on the chocolate chip cookie. I would totally go back to try some of their others desserts! The variety of tres leches looked awesome too. read more

Starting with a pink front door and trim on the outside, you can't miss this little bakery! They feature tiramisu, tres leches, flan, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, bread and cakes. The portions are large for the tres leches and tiramisu so I'll definitely have to come back for that. They also offer all sorts of coffee and espresso drinks as well. I ordered an Italian croissant which is filled with mozzarella and pesto, which was even heated to order. It tasted very good with a flaky outer layer. My cousin and I ventured into this cute little bakery while strolling around downtown Metuchen. Staff was welcoming and friendly. They recommended the tres leches and chocolate cake. This place is so cute! I love the decor and outdoor seating arrangements with the floral centerpieces on each table. The dulce de leche tres leches was amazing. They also have unlimited samples of their brownies, cookies and cakes which were all so good. Coffee was good too. This is place is awesome...their wait staff is so courteous.
