If you have ever been to Si Bon you know what the crepes, pastry and bread are like - magnifuque! Anyway, stop in for pastry, crepes and Bon bons. The morning croissants will take you to your little place in Montmare. Try the hash crepe or my favorite the cheese and mushroom crepe. Pastry Swan created the cake for our wedding in 2005. My husband and I met in Switzerland we wanted a Matterhorn shaped cake... and we got it. Everything about the cake making process was a delight. Loved the tasting part -- for the first time in my life they introduced me to a buttercream that was not too sweet -- was it Italian, or Swiss? The cake was big and amazing and immediately recognizable as the Matterhorn. It tasted fresh and chocolatey and delicious. Not everything went absolutely perfectly that day, but the cake part did and I am so grateful for that memory. PS. why am I writing this now? It was my first time eating here, I strolled in during happy hour and sat at the bar. I expected more of a bakery but was done looking in the case pretty quickly. The menu was more intriguing and they had great happy hour pricing on food and drinks ! I wasn't feeling a drink but I smelled the coffee and immediately wanted some . Oh boy too cause I got a Vietnamese latte , which is sweet condensed milk and espresso , I got it iced and it was sooo soo yummy . Dakota did an excellent job making the drink. To eat , I order the chicken quesadilla and the spinach artichoke dip both were really good and I'm always happy with some melted cheese . Was joined by Ian at this point and the food was plenty to share between the two of us . He order and iced chai and was also very happy with his drink. The only thing that was out of place was when we decided to get a macaroon and the one they brought out to us was going totally stale . Wah wah wah . I let the server know , they took it of the tab and apologized offering a different one but I said no thanks . All in all , Ian and I agreed that it would be nice to come back again for happy hour a different day . The coffee I will most definitely come back for if anything . The wedge salad also seemed to be very popular and looked good , and I was surprised to see hot wings on the menu , so definitely a good happy hour option I'd say. read more

When I got my birthday piece I found a toothpick baked in to it, completely unacceptable for a $110 cake. The taste was average at best, the fondant was good but the icing was awful. Ordered a cake for 10 people for my 80th birthday. Asked for peachy-pink buttercream rosettes all over cake, chocolate cake with raspberry filling. I had never been inside Pastry Swan before - the cases were empty and the cash register at one counter was not working. It gave me a bad feeling but the reviews were good so I shoved the bad feelings aside. When I picked up the cake the top layers were peachy-pink but the bottom layers were an orangy brown - not what I asked for and not what I expected but too late to change. Eating the cake was a disappointment. The frosting was not buttercream, the cake was way too sweet and the raspberry filling was gluey. No one at theparty ate a full piece of cake. Unfortunately, the leftovers went into the garbage. So disappointed. read more

Don't go into the brick and mortar store and expect to find a bakery. Stopped by one morning to check it out and selection was awful. I bought 2 cupcakes @ $4.25 each and I may as well have picked up a box of cupcakes at the store. They were dry and must have been made a day or two before.
