I went in to purchase a nice bottle of tequila for a friend. I had such a positive experience! The gentleman who assisted me was so knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to show me a variety of types of tequilas at different price points. He was patient, he knew aesthetics were also a consideration since it was a gift, and he took his time so I didn't feel rushed. I just wished I hadn't been on my lunch hour so I would have been able to spend more time learning about tequila. I will be back! read more

The negative reviews on here are hilarious at best. The owner is the most genuine person I've run in to in quite a while. I'm disabled, and though I was a fairly new customer, he could see I was struggling with the heavy bag and offered to carry my bag to my car. Always nice, calls me by name (and my dog Cookie) The store is the most amazing liquor store I think I've ever seen. They have an outrageous selection of alcohol ...I didn't really drink much before covid-19 but for some reason I took to having a drink with dinner now. I saw a bottle on the top shelf with a rather high price tag... (over $1k) and asked about it...and he gave me the story. Only thing is, if you need something other than alcohol or drinks, they probably won't have it. (no ant bait traps) ...so they are pretty much strictly a liquor store...but that's ok, cause that's what they are. Next time I'll add a photo...didn't think of it today. read more

Oh Pat Holden, dear local vendor -- how could you betray me so!? I went in the other day with a friend hoping to pick up a two single ciders & was told they will no longer sell these outside of 6 packs. Was told that "some idiot ruined it" for everyone. Hmmm suspicious indeed. I enjoy going in there to chat up the staffers (big guy, where are you buddy?) & pick up a modest ice cream after finishing my walks. At times I laugh at the expense of oddly garbed partygoers while buying a lambic. But I'm genuinely bummed at their inability to sell a single "normal" brew to a hardworking gal like myself. Forgo the allure of niche markets & costly craftbrews, dear old Pat H- service your locals! Bring back the single cider bottle-purchasing delight of those who celebrate your presence in the neighborhood. Or at least leave a few options for those of us who have tasted the gourmet-ish Swedish berry ciders and was unimpressed. Otherwise this place has a nice variety of snack foods, decent top shelf hard liquor & (in the past, not sure now) staff who could make solid alcohol recommendations. Say what you want about Oxnard, hell, I do. Not much to look at, just a conduit to get the Venturans through to the outlet mall in Camarillo, and a few more101-N exits for the Angelinos to drive past on their way up to see their buddy Oprah in Montecito or take a quick cray-cray vacay in Santa Barbara. But, hey! Oxnard's gotta Whole Foods, now, and even a Costco, it's legit and stuff! Aside from just looking like a shit-kicker ag & Navy town (kinda like where I grew up in Virginia but with significantly higher rent) it also has one of the most kick-ass "liquor stores" I've been to in all of So Cal. You wouldn't think it by the exterior (much like the taco joint around the corner but that's for another review) but this place is CRAFT. BEER. HEAVEN. You feeling like a sourpuss? Have them hook you up with Cascade or the latest Almanac release. Like em tall, dark, and/or Bourbon barrel-aged? Joe can ring up anything from a Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout to the occasional BCBS. More of a hophead? Get to know Jay, and maybe...someday beer karma might reward you with an Alpine Nelson or Duet. MAYBE. IF I haven't beaten you there to it first. The coolest thing about this place, they know their stuff, but they're NOT pretentious about it. Being a girl, I cannot begin to tell y'all how many times I walk into a store and ask beer questions, and get treated like, "oh, little girl, leave the real beer to the boys". It's never been like that here. For that, I'll definitely make time to actually stop in Oxnard on my way down to the OC to hunt for Pliny (uh, don't ask for THAT one, no distribution in these parts), oh, and maybe to stop at that taco joint and to gas up at Costco. read more

This store used to be fantastic but the owner has become a greedy jerk. They shamelessly try to rip off customers on allocated whiskey and make up lies about fake price increases and just lie to your face. The owner also gets really upset and acts like a little child if you show that you are actually educated on what prices are supposed to be and call him out on his lies. read more

If you are looking for something specific just ask one of their employees they will give you more information on if they are getting it, when they might get it. They are very customer friendly. Went there as they we seemed to have a decent beer selection. Found some single cans in their fridge. As I was checking out they said they only do 4 packs of them. They acted as if I separated the cans and wanted to know where I got the singles. I questioned why they had them in the fridge and that they should honor it. They of course said no. I found the staff to be rude and not customer focused. Will never go again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this store! Yesterday I visited for the first time, and asked for a recommendations on dessert liquors. There had a decent variety of products. I made a selection, and asked for 6 bottles. There weren't enough in stock - so they called around and found a warehouse. Then, they got they the bottles to the store within several hours. Saw an Instagram post for some cool beer. Drove out there, and saw their new beer section which had single cans. Waited in a long line and then was told that they don't sell singles of that beer, the guy called his boss and he said they aren't selling the singles (even though there was a whole sections of these singles in the fridge). False advertisement, the cashier was not the smartest and extremely unhelpful. Will not be going back again. read more

Stouts, IPA's, pale ales, and the basic Lagers are among the various beers to choose from. The prices are affordable. The staff are attentive.
