As part of my hubby's birthday month, he has been wanting to go to different breweries here in Ventura. The latest brewery we tried was Seaward Brewing! It was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon; there were just a few people seating by the bar. We ordered our drinks at the bar, and I wanted to try a beer flight, but they don't have gluten-free beer here. I had a passion fruit, orange, and guava seltzer. It was actually really good! One really cool thing about this place is that they have free snacks available to eat while you have your drinks! I thought that was good, considering that most places don't offer anything free nowadays. We sat inside because we saw they had a cute seating area with a small table. They also had a t.v screen, and we were asked if we wanted to watch anything specific. We watched a bit of a Dodgers game, but we were mostly talking and enjoying our time together and enjoying our drinks. Overall we had a nice experience and would love to come back again. read more

Seaward is tucked away in some commercial warehouse area but is an absolute gem. The tap room is pretty neatly decorated with a clear view of the main operations in the back. There's a second adjacent room with more seating and some space for playing games. We arrived while some trivia was ongoing - nothing quite like classic bar trivia! Even with the trivia in swing our bartender was super helpful in explaining the different brews. I enjoyed the low tide and high tide IPAs - both swell *haha* takes on the hazy though the Tiki Drink came to win. It barely tasted like a traditional beer and instead tasted more like a mixed drink in all goods ways. Overall Seaward is hot spot to check out and worth the visit. read more

I appreciate the free snacks that they put out which was pub mix, cheeze it mix, and licorice. It would be great if you could get real food here. Ran into this gem while visiting family and it was so cute! They were playing trivia when we showed up but the hostess was very kind and patient while we took our time to figure out what to drink. Some of the most unique beers I've ever seen. Really cool how this brewery seems to experiment with hops and flavors. I especially love the TIKI DRINK beer with pineapple and coconut cream. It's 7% and a total beach vibe. Can't get enough. The vibe here is super chill. Good service. Indoor seating and an outdoor patio. Found deep in an industrial park. No food available when I was there. Would be great if they had a food truck. And the flavor of this place definitely did not fit into this building. Off the beaten path, but within a few blocks of central Ventura. I randomly came across this place after having driven a little too far down Telephone Road. It was dusk on a Saturday and the commercial buildings were all closed up for the weekend - but I could sense a little action from the driveway this taproom is located on. There was ample parking, a barbecue food pop up making pizzas, and a great front patio area. The venue itself looked to have been a small warehouse at one time but was handsomely transformed into a comfortable and modern industrial space. There's a bar on one end, a clean bathroom, and a handful of tables. The first thing I noticed was the whimsical selection of brews displayed on the wall. I love it when you are given the tasting notes to look out for. I had a Windshift which was delightfully refreshing and citrusy. My friend (who is not a beer fan) ordered their Undertow Seltzer which tasted more like lemonade than a spirit. Both were very good. Seaward may be hidden, but it is certainly not a place to be missed. read more

After a long craving for a good beer decided to give another spot a try and stopped off at Seaward Brewing. Walked in and the outside patio was empty and the interior had only a couple people around 5pm. Definitely had a bit of an awkward vibe and didn't get a greeting when we entered. Finally got some pints ordered and some snacks and drinks from the case for the kids and decided to sit on the outside just because of the vibe. The seltzer was good and refreshing the ales were tasty. As we decided to move along the place started to get a bit busier and the patio was 75% full. Wow, delicious beer here! I was really surprised of how good the Citrus and the Blonde tasted. So fresh and served super cold, it was a perfect combination for a Friday night. The hosts were all super nice and let us sample a lot of their beers before we decided on the following delicious drinks: Double Hazy IPA Hoppy Blonde Citra Pale Ale The only turn off I guess is how full the place was on a Friday night and because you can't go outside with your drink you get stuck being cramped in the bar squished together, which is why we dropped a glass :/ Other than that this place was awesome, we were there for the beer and they did not fail to deliver. We will be visiting this place on a regular schedule from now on and hopefully some of the undesirables that were there last night will not be in attendance in the future! read more

But you put one right smack next door to my office and HOT DAMN if that's not recipe for making my new favorite beer spot. On to the important stuff. Yea it's a little small and crowded due to opening recently. But I have to say the beers are on point and tasty. I am one of those guys that likes a good IPA. Call me what you want, but the Hazy IPA and Hazy DIPA were right in my wheel house. My other co-workers sampled some of the other beers and all expressed their delight in a beer that was refreshing and tasty. So why the disclaimer to hold on to that glass you ask. Well, I dropped my tasty beer. Their pints have a slight flange in-ward that makes for an easy slip when you hold the top of the glass that has been kissed with the sweat of a brisk winter evening on an equally chilled beer.
