I purchased my wedding band nearly 30 years ago @ said business…read more Recently (September 2025) the prong broke prompting me to return for repairs, while there I decided to UPGRADE my ENGAGEMENT BAND spending over $7000. Unfortunately this experience has been nothing short of a DISASTER!! The LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM & ATTENTION TO DETAIL was DISAPPOINTING. Just as I did nearly 30 years ago I also returned to the outstanding jeweler my husband purchased my beautiful princess cut 2.02 G color grade/S12 clarity diamond stone for a 2nd appraisal which included the upgraded engagement band and the new wedding band, work Michael AGNELLO signed off on and thank goodness I did. Just like anything in life a 2nd opinion, especially when a substantial cost is incurred is beneficial, this is what was discovered & what transpired THE PRINCESS CUT DIAMOND IN MY UPGRADED ENGAGEMENT BAND WAS LOOSE, THE STONE ITSELF WAS NOT CENTERED PROPERLY. THE TINGE WAS NOT MATCHED PROPERLY, WHICH EXPLAINED THE VISIBLE YELLOWING BETWEEN THE NEW WEDDING BAND IN CONTRAST WITH MY UPGRADED ENGAGEMENT BAND. BOTH OF THESE DISAPPOINTING ERRORS, LED TO ADDITIONAL EXPENSES, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL RISK OF LOSING THE STONE, WHICH IS ALARMING.!!!! THE APPRAISAL(s) MICHAEL AGNELLO SIGNED OFF ON WERE INCOMPLETE, INACCURATE even worse they DID NOT REFLECT THE CORRECT NUMBER OF DIAMONDS AND THEIR VALUE, NO PHOTOS WERE INCLUDED, ADDITIONALLY BOTH HAD THE WRONG DATE/YEAR WHICH RAISES CONCERNS ABOUT ITS RELIABILITY. NO INSURANCE AGENCY WOULD FIND THIS ACCEPTABLE. WHILE AT THE 2nd APPRAISAL APPOINTMENT I CALLED MICHAEL ON HIS CELL PHONE TO ADDESS MY CONCERNS. I had his personal cell # because he phoned me when he understood my initial visit in September was nothing short of a disappointment, he advised me he doesn't like his customers to leave disappointed, this too is misleading as well because it's the end of the year and the disaster goes on While at my appointment for my 2nd appraisal I did advise Michael he was on speaker conveying my concerns. Additionally I advised I tipped the sales lady, Michael was quick to respond "my staff knows not to accept tips" he immediately asked the tipped sales lady about accepting my tip and she was heard replying "I gave it to you" This contradictory information from the owner was further misleading, along with the quality issues of the bands, the botched appraisals which causes alarm as a consumer all of which left an extremely bad impression and further illustrates the lack of professionalism of his establishment When I attempted to discuss these issues with Michael he was rude. In fact, he was telling me to relax and considering the circumstances and discovery of these errors I was and then .... HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!! I wasn't the only one listening to him as I had him on speaker so there is no way around this should he refute I've noticed on previous reviews Michael disputing they're not so unique situations similar to mine further disregarding customer service and professionalism of a business owner downplaying and dismissing their concerns as well These are facts despite whatever Michael may claim especially with the documents with his signature signing off on them. I had hoped for a professional resolution rather than being compelled to resort to social media advocacy for others who might share or face similar challenges with his business however he choose to disregard my email requesting a call instead; SILENCE IS HIS ANSWER!!!! Overall; I cannot recommend this business, it's disheartening to see a business with such a long standing reputation fails to uphold its COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMERS ONE STAR IS GENEROUS BECAUSE ZERO IS NOT AN OPTION BUYERS BEWARE AND BE SMART BEFORE OPENING UP YOUR WALLETS AND YOUR HEARTS TO BE MET WITH DISAPPOINTMENT TO THE STAFF ON SITE, BE PLEASANT AND MORE APPEALING OPPOSED TO THE SOMBER FEELING OF THE ENVIRONMENT Happy New Year!! My goal with this review is ADVOCACY for future clients so they don't find themselves in a similar situation.

Very engaging and an extremely competent staff. Good problem solvers and exceptional in coming up…read morewith suggestions if you are stumped on what to select for your significant recipient! Low pressure with coffee and nice treats available to bide the time!! And oh, did I mention the fabulous affordable selections they have at this store? Do not buy anywhere else until you stop here to shop. They are definitely worth the drive / time here in metro Detroit.

I didn't know if that was the going rate so I went to another jeweler where the cost of putting those charms on is $150. I've been dealing with Maloof's for years. This is not to say I would never go there for anything -perhaps a piece of jewelry or a ring, but I would never go there for any kind of repair or work on Jewelry

I genuinely wish I weren't writing this, especially after my initial experience at Maloof--which…read morewas stellar. A year ago, they offered the best price for a custom gold engagement ring, delivered impeccable craftsmanship, and treated me like a valued customer. That memory made us excited to return for our wedding bands. Unfortunately, that excitement evaporated the moment we were greeted by Jim. His demeanor was terse, dismissive, and bordering on condescending. Rather than guiding us through a special moment, he made us question whether we were foolish for even considering the pieces we showed interest in. After barely five minutes of engagement, he waved me off to another part of the store when I asked about silver chains. We stood awkwardly for nearly 20 minutes--no one acknowledged us, and it turned out we needed to pull a new number to get help. Meanwhile, I was fully prepared to make significant purchases. This review isn't about a single rude encounter--it's about how easily a brand can lose loyalty when they fail to deliver consistent respect and care. I'm giving Maloof two stars solely out of respect for their earlier excellence. But I won't return. If this business wants to remain relevant with a new generation of buyers, it needs to rethink who's representing it. A moment that should've been joyful was soured by apathetic service. That's the kind of dead weight that ages a brand out of existence.

My husband and I are in our mid 80's and we walk the mall every day and stop to chat with the staff. There is one Security Person (Mark) I don't know his last name, but he went way above and beyond his official capacity. I had fallen a week ago and was walking on a cane. He saw me sitting on the bench waiting for my husband to get the car and pick me up. He took a minute from his job to help me to the car and be sure I was buckled in. We were parked right outside the center court entrance. That act of kindness meant so much to me and I will never to be able to thank him enough. Tappers is extremely fortunate to have security personnel like Mark.

I believe I was racially and economically profiled at Rolex Boutique Tapper's Detroit. I was…read morestopped at the door and discouraged from entering a nearly empty boutique, while shortly afterward I watched other customers walk in without receiving the same treatment. I don't make that accusation casually. I was visiting Michigan and spending the day with a family I had invited to dinner and to take their children to the LEGO Store. They were humble people and dressed modestly. I am Mexican-American and, because I was traveling, I was dressed comfortably and casually. As we walked through the mall, I noticed the Rolex boutique. I own several Rolex watches and routinely stop in boutiques to see what they have. I pointed toward the store, told the family I wanted to go inside, and walked toward the entrance with them directly behind me. The two security guards at the entrance were professional and courteous. They treated me like any other customer. Then a gentleman behind the counter saw us. He looked at me. He looked at the family behind me. Then he rushed toward the entrance and physically positioned himself in the doorway to stop me. "I'm so sorry, sir, you cannot enter. We don't have enough associates to assist you. We are really busy." Really? I could see inside the store. There appeared to be TWO customers browsing. I could also see associates who appeared to have nothing to do. The family behind me immediately understood the message. They stopped approaching and backed away. I didn't. I smiled and asked, "No problem. How long should I wait?" "At least 30 minutes. You may want to visit other stores." I told him I was perfectly comfortable waiting right there. And then something remarkable happened: the supposed 30-minute wait suddenly vanished. After speaking with me for another moment, his position changed to: "Okay, you can come in." No wave of customers had left. No obvious staffing issue had suddenly been resolved. Somehow, within moments, the 30-minute barrier disappeared. Once I was inside, a young Black man entered. I watched the same employee's reaction and perceived an obvious hesitation. Given what had just happened to me, the question hanging in my mind was impossible to ignore: Why wasn't he stopped too? Shortly afterward, a white man entered. No confrontation. No warning about being understaffed. No "30-minute wait." He appeared to be given free access to the boutique. By then, the contradiction was impossible for me to overlook. I cannot tell anyone what was inside this employee's mind. But I can absolutely describe his conduct and how it affected me. Based on what I personally experienced and observed, I believe I was profiled based on my race, my appearance, the people accompanying me, and what this employee apparently perceived our economic status to be. And here's the irony: I am already a Rolex customer. I own multiple Rolex pieces. Once inside, with the entire experience already soured, I nevertheless tried to make conversation and asked about an entry-level Rolex I was considering purchasing as a gift. I was told to go to Tudor. That was enough for me. What angered me most wasn't being underestimated personally. It was watching the family I was with physically retreat from that doorway because they immediately felt that they did not belong there. I had invited them and their children out for an enjoyable evening, and in a matter of seconds, someone managed to make them feel unwelcome in a store simply because we wanted to walk inside and look at watches. Luxury is not a license to decide who looks wealthy enough to enter your store. A Rolex boutique should understand that better than almost anyone. Your customers do not owe you designer clothing, a particular skin color, or visible evidence of their bank balance before being treated with dignity. I walked toward that door as an existing Rolex owner. I walked away questioning whether I ever want to purchase another one. Rolex Boutique Tapper's Detroit should be embarrassed by this experience.

Where do I start. January 2 2023 we went to pay $5,500towards the total cost of the ring. We told them we wanted the ring done March 1st so they made a promise date that the ring would be done this time we were helped by MEECH. (The only other person who has taken any money from us or wrote up any receipt besides shoob back in may 2022) But before that sometime in December we went to pay on the ring and the ring was no where to be found took them awhile to find it. So fast forward to today April 11 2023 my husband went to pay off the ring and take it home and was told that 2 days after we paid the $5,500 payment we came in and switched out all of our down payment to a pendent. Which is NOT the case. They were trying to get us to pay $3,000 more to get the original ring (that is not done) then tried getting us to get a different ring that is NOTHING like the original. Also would not give any money back that we put down. So the lady who had been helping us found the ring and all the receipts saying that we exchanged the ring money for a pendent that was not her hand writing it was someone else's. you think they would be more concerned than they were and look into it instead of trying to make more money off you. So now have a ring that I originally did not want & paid more than the ring is worth. DO NOT RECOMMEND they clearly don't take business serious and the receipt they give you obviously mean nothing. This was definitely an inside job done by MEECH HIMSELF. They have cameras that they can see we never came in and switched my ring to a pendent and they will see it was him that did this. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANY MONEY WITH HUTCHES go to Golden sun jewlery! Hutches is a bunch of scammers. Mind you when my husband was in the store Meech avoid any type of eye contact with him because he knows the shady stuff he did. Video-is the ring I wanted with a square diamond and white gold. The ring I had to settle for because they wanted $3,000 more for my original ring. 1st photo Is the square diamond that I purchased in full to take it off the floor. 2nd photo is the original ring with the white gold band that all the diamonds were supposed to get placed into.
