If you love Detroit (or just great local finds), put this everything-Detroit boutique at the very…read moretop of your list. It's one of those shops that perfectly captures the spirit of the city while still feeling welcoming, creative, and genuinely community-focused. The location in Midtown is super convenient, with easy street parking nearby -- always a bonus in the city. And if you have time, definitely pop next door to Nest, which they also own. It has the same thoughtful vibe and is absolutely worth browsing plant-centric items. This is my go-to spot for gifts, although I'll admit some items mysteriously end up staying with me. The selection is fantastic: unique Detroit-themed T-shirts, beautiful jewelry, coasters, drinkware, cutting boards, locally made soaps, baby gifts, and so much more. Everything has a Michigan connection, and a lot of the pieces come from local artists and makers, which makes shopping here feel even more meaningful. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people behind it. The staff are genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in their community. You can tell they care about supporting local artists, small businesses, and the neighborhood as a whole -- and that makes supporting them feel good too. If you want authentic Detroit gifts, thoughtful local products, and a shopping experience that feels personal rather than corporate, this spot absolutely delivers. I always look forward to coming back.

Now they've expanded in there and they've filled the space with even more beautifully curated goodies, new and "found." There's a bit of everything in here, perfect for finding a gift for a friend, family, or a partner, or a little goodie for yourself. They've got beautiful art prints from independent artists, handmade ceramics, plus stationery, a bangin' candle section, lovely housewares and textiles like throws, pillows, and tea towels, plus jewelry, the list goes on and on. Plus when you shop here you're really shopping small, because most of what they carry falls into that category. If you go to their website you can take a look at a list of the artists they carry in store, and I love recognizing names of friends and people I admire in their respective fields. It's a delight digging through all their offerings and I highly recommend you get there soon to do it yourself!

After another frustrating experience with CVS I was reminded again of what a well-run, trustworthy,…read morecustomer-service-focused business that Notre Dame Pharmacy is. They have taken great care of our family for years and are nothing but efficient, supportive, there to answer questions, affordable, quick and reliable - all the things that CVS isn't. We will be sure that our doctors don't mistakenly send RXs to CVS again. The recent issue with CVS points to what a difference there is between community and corporate pharmacies. Notre Dame takes care of customers like family - the opposite of corporate CVS, which makes it nearly impossible to talk to someone by phone and in our case hung up on our doctor's office as they tried to explain the how to correct the mistake CVS pharmacy had made. I have no doubt Notre Dame would never employ such unprofessional, uncaring people. Can't recommend Notre Dame Pharmacy enough.

There are a ton of fun things to check out here, and very unique too! I did hear from my friend who I came with, who is a lot more well-versed with antiquing that Lloyd David Antique's is definitely on the pricier side compared to other antique shops. So keep that in mind as you browse! One of the employees was suggesting that pricing could be flexible, just depending on what you got, so I think there is some room for haggling. There were also a lot of tables that had sales on them more towards the front of the shop, along with all the ornaments strung up throughout the shop being $1! Lots to look at and I had a lovely time browsing! I ended up picking up some crystal icicle ornaments to add to my Christmas tree and they were the perfect addition! They ran about $3 per ornament. Also, important to note that this antique shop definitely carries weird hours. My friend who lives in GPP said this was her first time being able to come here because every time she has been in the downtown GPP area in the last two years she's lived here, the antique shop has always been closed, regardless of what time of the day she finds herself here. Something to make a note of before you come here - might be good to call ahead to see if they're even open!
