With previous teachers, they just moved forward in the books without truly assessing what would work for my daughter. I liked that she uploads videos and details of to the practice app so it's very clear to both parents and the kids what's being practiced each week. He's very sensitive/nervous with low self esteem, struggles in many areas so when he took an interest in piano (and showed some talent) we were excited and wanted to build on that. No desire of becoming a virtuoso, just skill building, having fun and feeling good about oneself. Unfortunately Amy was nothing like his previous teacher who'd inspired & empowered him. She lacked patience/kindness and it was apparent that she does not have the knowledge to work with neurodivergent kids. At one point she was so harsh with him he ended up silently crying in the car home. If your child is neurodivergent/on the spectrum, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

She also is able to assess where exactly I am vocally, so that she doesn't push me too hard and get me frustrated and she doesn't leave me bored because the material is not challenging enough.
