It's rather sad; another once great brand bites the dust. I had bought 3 years ago a wonderful, albeit expensive sweatshirt. Understandably, the cuffs were fraying since I often wore it. So I bought another one; they didn't have the one I had, but I did buy a similar one priced at $159.00. The quality was not as good as mine, the material was thinner, the design skipped the little details; frankly it was cheaply made. But the employee said if you like your old one, they would repair it for free. Fabulous I said, now I'll have two. She said for cuffs only it should take 3 days; they could do it in store versus sending it out. Wonderful. I came by 5 days later; it was not repaired, but promised early the following week. Again, I came by to pick it up; AGAIN sorry it is not repaired yet. NO phone call, no notice; nothing. Over three weeks later I called on Monday and said WTF? The clerk said she was very sorry, she promised it would be ready Thursday, the repair guy was off until then. Ok.... So today, Friday I went by again to pick it up. It's STILL not ready; it never has been worked on. Worse, business is slow at Patagonia so they gave the repair guy the week off. The Manager offered to find me something "comparable" to make up for my troubles, but no discount - it turns out he just wanted me to buy something. They're desperate. Lots of people have quit and left. As for my sweatshirt, probably I'll stop by in another month. 3 days will become 3 months. Absolutely terrible customer service. It's so sad. Only a few years ago, I said, "What a great company. What a great Brand." 5 Stars! But Patagonia Pasadena has lost their way. Poor quality AND poor service; and still expensive. A bad combination. Nor do they care about their employees. There are a few good ones left, but they are leaving. No wonder business is down. Don't go to Patagonia Pasadena - you will only be disappointed. What an amazing store and brand! I am so thankful for Patagonia's policy of fixing broken zippers/parts on all their products - they really walk the walk in terms of sustainability; A sales associate named Doug helped me get my 5 year old favorite Patagonia fitted with a new zipper today, for free. I am so thankful to him and everyone else at this location including another associate named Gary who was very helpful over the phone when I called earlier this week. Amazing Patagonia store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Selection on men's clothing could grow but still have good selections. Ask for Shirley. Parking is a little tough but that's Old Town Pasadena for you. Free 90 minutes parking on Green st with is one street down from the store. I'm huge fan of Patagonia cause of their build and cut of there clothes plus they have a lifetime warranty on everything that has their name on it even if you didn't buy it from them. I had an exchange and a repair to do at Patagonia and with their SM store temporarily closed, I drove up to the Pasadena location. The store hours online said Pasadena would be open but upon arriving, the store was closed (I think for deep cleaning)? The manager stepped out and was able to help me since I drove so far to visit and processed the exchange and repair (ended up getting credit for the repair). I really appreciated her not having me wait for the store to open again. read more

Called the store was able to set up one since the store was not packed (on a weekday) and the online apt was full. Store was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. I always wanted to go into this store, and my perpetual procrastination allowed me to do so when I needed to do last-minute Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. I was hoping to find something for my ex, since we have been on much friendlier terms in the past few months. Unfortunately for him, we're not so friendly that I'd spend $40 on a t-shirt, so he almost didn't get anything from me. I went through the whole store and then found the PERFECT gift, a really awesome book - Surf Movie Tonite!: Surf Movie Poster Art, 1957-2004. He's a surfer and I thought he'd enjoy the artwork quite a bit. (I also gave him a cool ResQ Me keychain in case he ever gets stranded upside down and underwater in his car.) Wow, ok, am I'm I the only one who's received "Ship-High-In-Transit-Y" service in this store? Now I feel really singled out!! I fell short of giving them 1 star due the response of the other reviewers, but i also felt that I was ignored. I've always wanted to check out what the store, so I did. Walked in, not too many people, made eye contact with someone I though was just a customer, gave him a courtesy nod ...he looked at me as if I was foreign, awkward...ok, turns out this "customer" was actually an employee!! Started to browse, looked at a couple of items, other "customers" (employees I would imagine) walked by, no questions/greeting/ hi or the lots. Granted I was looking at tee-shirts at the time, I was actually looking for a lightweight jacket. Turns out, just as I'm about to ask someone for help, they go start a conversation with other customers. At this point I'm all jacked-up confused about who is who...awkwardness... Walked out the back...bought a jacket at REI day later. Ok, this might be an isolated incident, I'll revisit them again, and the +/- stars shall be adjusted accordingly after. This store has the best customer service. Every staff member is welcoming and very knowledgeable about their products. Looking for a waterproof jacket? Or a windproof sweater? Maybe just a casual gift? There is always a staff member willing to give you a tour of its products to fit your needs. This is a great place to buy heavy duty outerwear. I love my Capilene tank top and my lightweight R4 jacket. Keeps me super warm and I'm sensitive to the cold. Prices are high, but the quality and eco-friendly materials of their clothing makes each piece a special buy. Try a piece out and if you don't like it, return it! They have a very open return policy based on their high standards of customer satisfaction. Similar to that of REI. I also appreciate their booth on local environmental groups that they support and their Patagonia clothing recycling program! read more

I was hoping to get some hiking poles but a sales guy informed me that they only sold "soft goods." We had the very best experience today. We were able to make an appointment to shop inside the store during COVID. There were only 2 of us most of the 45 minutes we were there which made it feel very safe. Our staff person was Jen and she was perfect. I expressed what I was looking for and she walked me through all the possibilities and helped me decide which garments would work best. It was the first time we had been shopping in a retail store for over 7 months and this was the best experience. I give Patagonia high marks for protecting both their employees and their customers during this insane time. I observed that they also installed air filtration units throughout the store. We have shopped at this location for many years and have always had great service with friendly and helpful staff. read more

I was heading out on a trip and needed a new back pack. I called ahead and spoke with Art who set aside the pack I thought I needed. When I arrived I realized I preferred a different size of the same model. Challenge was they just received 20 boxes of inventory to sift through and stock. Art was attentive to me and my daughter checking in as we waited for another associate to discover the one we needed. Art stayed attentive to us from phone, to store and finally to the register. Love this company and everything it stands for! I was greeting by almost the entire staff when I walked in, which was really nice and made me feel really welcomed! Doug proceeded to assist me and answer all of my questions about the product I was purchasing! He was great at information by me about the brand and this location! He even invited me to attend an event that was being held at the store later on that evening! I really enjoyed my experience at this store! The quality of products they sell are meant to last and they even have workshops where they show you how to mend! They are all about sustainability which I also love! I was reluctant to rave about Patagonia, b/c I still can't afford the luxury of actually buying anything here, but they do need props for all the activities they schedule. Just last week a bunch of folks met here on Sunday morning for an "eco-ride" to the Arroyo Seco Park. Patagonia organized the raffle for some great door prizes, and provided staff to help with the event. Also, there is plenty of literature available in the store to tell you all about local environmental activities, many of which are sponsored by the store. The folks who work in the women's section are so nice. I've purchased a couple of jackets here and there are always really friendly salespeople that answer my questions without any pressure sales tactics. The employees all seem to be outdoor enthusiasts and have lots of real world experience using the products for sale. Though they don't to temperature ratings for their clothes, the ladies there have provided helpful feedback to me about hiking areas and whether this or that jacket would be better to take along. There's a very nice salesperson named Carrie that has helped me a few times and has very helpful feedback on the merchandise. Before I left the store yesterday, she made sure I understood how to care for my fancy new jacket. I'm less of a hardcore outdoor enthusiast and more of a perpetually cold person that like to be outside. I'm also allergic to down feathers. The folks here are always helpful and I appreciate that they've tested most of the clothing themselves! read more

This store is great if you love hiking and anything involving the outdoors. Although their clothing and gear may be a bit pricey, it is worth every penny. Need an item repaired? Bring it in. Need to replace an item because it didn't work like you thought it would? Bring it in. The bottom line is that Patagonia's "iron-clad guarantee" is no joke. I went in there on a whim to see if I could exchange a jacket I had received as a gift for a different size. Despite having no receipt, and having worn the item for a week or so in the Yosemite back-country, exchanging it was not a problem. The staff here is excellent. Super friendly and helpful. I truly love their merchandise and the quality is always above average. The one issue I have is they often have limited sizes or not a wide enough selection to choose from. The kids area is dinky, so if your looking for any of this type of merchandise, order online and just return to the store if you need to. I've been in the market for solid weather wear for quite some time. As most jackets are at least a couple hundred dollars, it was not a purchase I was taking lightly. I had my mind made up on a $400 north face, but really drawn to the repair guarantee of Patagonia, but employees at REI were not knowledgeable on their brand. I was also drawn to Patagonias commitment to environmental consciousness and sustainability. Decided to make the trek to Pasadena to this store and I am so happy I did. Gary was SO helpful and informative, and the other employees were also attentive. Gary spent some time going over their repair policy, as well as making sure I knew how to properly care for my garments, and also expanded on the responsibly sourced materials that make up their products. I entered the store leaning towards north face, and left sold and in love with Patagonia. Gary's customer service combined with their exceptional product, commitment to the environment and the way Patagonia appreciates and treats their employees - made a lifetime consumer of me and my family. 10/10 recommend!! read more

OK, so Patagonia isn't the most affordable of brands, but they make excellent products with great quality. I finally decided to splurge and get a jacket for myself. All the employees I interacted with were very helpful and courteous. Greg in particular was awesome; he helped me find an item I thought they didn't have in stock, and honored a coupon for Patagonia's website, in-store. I recently visited Patagonia to shop for an upcoming outdoor trip, and I had the best customer service experience I've had in a long time. I did some research on my destination and the weather there before visiting the store, but I still didn't have a good idea of the type of gear I would need. In order to better serve me, the associate that I worked with looked up the weather for me, and based upon his findings, made specific recommendations. He was quite nice and especially knowledgeable about the products. For example, he explained why a certain type of sweater would be better for my destination over another type of sweater. He set up a fitting room for me, and while I was trying stuff on, he went and found other products and sizes for me. When they didn't have a color/size in stock of something I was looking for, he gave me the option of ordering online, and provided a coupon for free shipping. I can tell that they have high standards of customer service. I can't wait to go back. Very highly recommended! read more

I love this Patagonia store. I have bought stuff here several times, and the folks there are always really nice and helpful. Returns and exchanges are easy, which it should when you're paying a premium for what's supposed to be the best stuff. What makes this place even better than just a place to buy merchandise, though, is that you can even just go in for advice on outdoor sports, since all the folks there are into something. I find that they are even a bit more helpful/friendly when it comes to advice than the REI people. I got some really good advice for bicycle resources while I was there, and I also signed a letter to Senators Boxer and Feinstein to petition bicycles to be considered tax-deductible when used for commuting. If they served beverages, I would probably hang out there for hours. read more

Most of the staff is great, but there's one guy who is a jerk. I've returned things a few times here that haven't worked for us, and he always turns it into a big deal, calling me the "return lady" and shaming me for my returns (the last time I was mostly returning kid stuff that I had to get in a different size - really? You're going to harass me for that?) I always have my receipt and Patagonia has a generous return policy so that I could return it even without a receipt - that's why I buy things from there. I love this store! The staff's customer service is awesome! They are really good about suggesting stuff, but not pressuring you to get anything. Plus the quality of the stuff is fantastic! I have stuff from them that is 20 years old and I absolutely love. I travel to the other coast of the US regularly and their stuff holds up much better than cheaper stuff. I am a loyal client. I love the location of this store and how the associates are very welcoming and helpful. The only downside is that the children's section is next to null. I love Patagonia infant and kids clothing for all my kids and was disappointed by the selection here. The only other Patagonia stores I've been to is the Santa Monica location, which I used to frequent for my family and I when we lived in the Westside, and the store in Banff. Their variety was obviously a lot wider and more sizes in stock. read more
