It's gone downhill. Locals say it's due to the buyout. Others will tell you it's the managers ego. Regardless, we and were told 1 hour for food. When we ordered apps the manager yelled at our waitress to update us that our tuna dip and nachos would be 1 hour and 45 minutes. The place was almost empty. read more

Wild night at Patches Pub. Let me explain. First off, the staff at Patches did a fantastic job with a medical emergency tonight. Lady one table away had some type of event and fell to the floor. Staff were immediately on the scene at assist and manger in charge was present the whole time. Paramedics eventually arrived to provide care. Kudos to all staff involved - great professionalism, calm demeanor and totally attentive to the injured person. Now the rest of the night. When we entered Patches the place was very busy. We waited by the front door for a table. There was one right next to us, so we were patient until another couple entered the building, blew by us and began sitting at what was going to be our table. The lady was obnoxious and her husband wasn't much better. Had to yell at them in a loud voice several times before they moved on to outside seating. We sat down, ordered and waited patiently for our food. Wifey had fish tacos. Two tacos with grilled fish and fixings. Two sides were included, Cole slaw and red beans and rice. Everything cooked perfectly and nicely displayed. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. Pork was delicious and beans had really good flavor. We were enjoying our meal. Then the event happened. Some tables and chairs needed to be moved to make room for the EMTs. There were 4 of them and their equipment. It was a little chaotic as they attended to her. Now, in walks another couple. They take a look at us and start to sit at our table. Right in the middle of the emergency. I mean the lady was laying on the floor 3-4 feet from us and this couple invites themselves to join us. I said no. Then they guilted us about having 2 extra seats at our table. Basically had to yell at them too. Patches, you have great food and a fantastic staff, but some your patrons are down right rude. Crazy night. Glad to be home in one piece. read more

How lucky was I to be staying next door to Patches Pub during my stay in PCB! I heard the live music when I was taking a walk in the neighborhood and knew I had to go check out the place! I asked about the name and was informed about the name and was told the very 1st patch was a 'Girls Scout' patch...then over the years it turned more into a military theme! Now they have patches from over 25 different countries! I started out with a beer and the dry rub wings! Best decision EVER! I had a great server and met some locals while hanging out! I enjoyed myself so much that I came back another night for more wings and picked up some take-out for the rest of my crew! The crew was happy with the wings; burgers and fries! Went there on Thanksgiving day because they had a Thanksgiving dinner for a good price. It was only 530 pm when we arrived and the waitress informed us they had run out. I could understand if it was 900 pm, but it was only 530. It all worked out though. We went to Coconuts which is associated with the resort we stayed at. Although more expensive, it was delicious and we left full. Do not go to Patches Pub on Thanksgiving because you will leave disappointed. read more

We are locals and have going to Patches for a while, never have talent the time to post. Recently (the last few months) we have been so disappointed for so many reasons, therefore I thought I'd share. For many months, we patron Patches for the local neighborhood service, the food and the people watching! Never had a bad experience. Something has changed, I don't know exactly the issue and why it's changed but here's the concerns. FOOD - although good, it's mass produced. Meaning, if there is a special that day, they cook and plate it hours in advance and it sits on a table in the kitchen on paper plates. I've seen it, sitting at the bar or being able to see in the kitchen. Mass quantities of seared cold tuna sitting on noodles for Friday night. It's not cooked to order. If you are looking for something different than another local place, Patches is not it. The burger quality is not worth it any longer. The pizza crust is like cardboard now and if you order the $25 veggie 16" pizza good luck finding the veggies and expect something from a CAN! Canned mushrooms, not fresh! The fries are soggy, the quality of the food is terrible now. SERVICE- we usually don't attend during spring break or busy summer nights as we know better. Good luck finding a table, clean, and also getting service. We opt to go in the off hours aND STILL WAIT! The "manager" has a MOUTH! We waited for over 45 minutes (4 of us and no apps) on a Monday night (8/12). When we questioned her why we were still waiting for wings, burger and taco....the response was, "the ticket was placed 43 minutes ago baby and the kitchen time is 45-48 minutes "....as she turned briskly away and checked the register and promptly said "F*CK!" She either realized she was wrong or she received our complaint along with the tables around us. No apology, no acknowledgement, just excuses and a foul mouth. We gave her our "local" card for 10% off and she questioned us to see our drivers license even though we had the card. Fine, no problem, proved that we lived less than 2 miles down the road and she rolled her eyes. Proceeded to hand us a check and NEVER TOOK THE 10% off?! We went to the bar with the ticket and she proceeded to swear again. AMBIANCE - it's your local hole in the a wall bar and grill. They can hardly keep up with keeping the place clean. Dear Lord, don't use the bathroom! It's so disgusting! Park around the side or the back of the place and you'll start to get a good picture of what the kitchen probably looks like. Floors and tables are gross and when they go to Clean the tables, the server was using the dirty towel from one table to the next. The outside is picnic tables and sweaty people. We attempted to sit outside and 2 drunks decided they would crash our table and sit with us?! WTH?! Pretty disappointed, whatever has happened to Patches, they truly need to fix the mess! Rethink the employees and service, clean up, stop cutting corners in the kitchen! Don't be surprised when the local health inspector shuts this place down! read more

Remember this...everyone's tastes are different. You may not love what I love and I may not love what you love. My "food reviews" are just my opinion, no matter the city. First example; Patches Pub & Grill...I've been wanting to go for several years because it's one of the places lots of locals recommend. They were PACKED, so I figured that was another good sign. I had heard that the Ahi Tuna Tacos were amazing. To me, they were just okay. The mango slaw on them was good, but the "blackened" tuna was a bit bland. Just nothing special. The smoked tuna dip was decent, but again, nothing special. The Bloody Mary, however...probably the best one I've ever had, though I'm no Bloody Mary connoisseur. I've also heard great things about their pizza, but there was an hour and a half wait on pizza, so we didn't try that. Overall, not bad food, just nothing that blew me away. Went to Patches on a Friday evening, sat outside because the places was busy.. We got great service & had good food.. The problem was, everyone around us was smoking.. I don't smoke, don't want to see your smoke & I definitely don't want to smell like cigarette smoke !!! Over the past 3 years we have visited Patches a few times. We enjoy the music, the ambiance of the place and the opportunity to meet other people. However, last night we really didn't have a good experience from the moment we sat down outside. Our server really was slow, she took forever to come to our table and then to bring us our drinks. It took forever to get our food, probably 30 minutes. My wife ordered the shrimp and linguine and I ordered the patty melt. No problem with the shrimp dish. My patty melt was like a cold ball of meat put between two pieces of bread with little cheese and no caramelized onions. Not good! Don't exactly know where to pinpoint the problems. They were somewhat busy, but we've seen it busier. Cold food, bad service, something has changed and not for the better. read more

Great atmosphere, good music, local vibe. Nice menu options. Need to work on food sitting outside too long before serving. It's basically not even warm when you get it. Maybe have a table number system. Numbers on tables and tickets, and one server assigned to getting the orders to the tables quickly. I think the problem is right there. Also need a person wiping and cleaning tables in between customers. Your servers are not the problem. It's totally in the inefficient food delivery process. My wife and I were staying in Panama City Beach and we took a Lyft to the other side of town to the state park. We walked up to Patches, since it had great reviews on Yelp and I guess there was some kind of crawfish boil going on at one and there were people getting their tables at 11 already, se we sat at a high table inside and I ordered an IPA from Athens, Georgia, the Hopsecuitioner. It was good. I ordered the grouper sandwich and a side salad with baked beans as my side. The fish sandwich was delicious and kind of messy, but the remoulade was really tasty. The blackened flavoring wasn't overpowering or even noticeable, but it was perfectly cooked. The guys next to us got super hot chicken wings and I could smell the heat from 4 feet away. I wanted to try one! The side salad was 5 bucks, but it was pretty solid. Nice slices of squash and a pretty good pre-packaged bleu cheese. I like freshly made, but....Hey. We have ate here everyday of our 6 day vacation in PCB. The food is fantastic, the servers are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere with live music, outside sitting, ans dog friendly is a great plus. One bartender gave my girl a pupcup while we waited on a to go order. Over the past 6 days we have got the pizzas, pig skins, fried pickles, chips & dip, burgers, totchos, and pork quesdillas. Everything we have ate has been fantastic. The only thing I wish they had on their menu was fried shrimp. Out of all our trips to PCB, patches by far has been the best food yet. While on vacation we ate at Patches twice. The first time we ate we were not impressed. The chicken strips were very chewy, the grilled chicken salad I ordered with no cheese, I got cheese. My husband said the chicken wrap was ok but just your usual tasting wrap. I did order my dog the grilled chicken breast and I took a piece to try, it was juicy and tasted good. A few days later we gave them another try. The wings were delicious along with the sauces. The cheese curds were good along with the cheese fries. We did order takeout both times because we were staying at the RV resort across the street, plus had our furbaby with us. If I were in the area again I would go back for the wings. read more

If the service was better, then this place would easily be a 4 star. However, we had probably the worst service here over our entire trip. We walked in, and it was a dingy little place, but this was expected. Crowded inside, we went outside and sat at a picnic table. People were staring at us. We waited for a few minutes to see if we would be served, and after the waitress walked by our table without looking our direction, a few of us got up to order drinks at the bar. There was an issue with the card reader outside, so they went inside. The bartender was snarky and wouldn't serve us, saying she didn't want to take business away from the waitress. We informed her that we didn't have a waitress and she just shrugged. After a while longer, we successfully flagged down our waitress, who came talking about how she was "swamped." I get being busy, but it felt very much like she was deliberately ignoring us. Very annoying. We put in our food and drink orders. Two dollar pints of Miller light are hard to beat, and the pizza was cheap and delicious. I also got a side of totchos, which were cheap and good, but nothing to write home about. It took us nearly an hour after eating to flag our waiter down again so we could cash out. There was a shift change halfway through our meal, so we had a different guy who took his sweet time running our cards. At one point, he came back saying the machine wasn't working, and that he'd run them when it started working "hopefully soon." At this point, I was hoping they could comp us our meal. It had been over 2 hours and we had no idea when we would be able to leave. Luckily, the machine started working within 10 minutes, and we cashed out and left quicker than a middle schooler leaves class when the bell rings. Unfortunately, we had been there already for 2 1/2 hours. I recommend going here for the cheap beer and drinks. The live music outside was pretty good too. Just make sure you have plenty of time to kill, and can handle a few dirty glares from the people there. 2/5 read more

Looking for a dive bar with a diverse menu close to the beach in the shadows of a condominium? Patches is the place for you then! I think I have drove by Patches so many times, that I had no idea what a treasure this was to find. The building isn't much to look at and is a pretty bland white building. Parking is hard to come by but there is some around back. There is actually no sign except the chalkboard at the front of the building that I noticed. Patches is located beside the Commodore and at the intersection of Thomas Drive and the road to St. Andrews state park across from Alvin's Island. There is plenty of outside dining. When you enter, there are tables to the right and a huge, horseshoe bar to the left. Past the bar, there is a door that leads to an outside area that has a stage for live music, more bars and tables, and heaters during the winter. The menu is very diverse but can be grouped by appetizers, wings, pizza, burgers, and sandwiches. There are daily specials and today's special was a 1lb of wings for $5. That equaled about 6 wings. I went with 3 lb. with Chipotle Mango, Carolina BBQ, and Spicy Teriyaki. The Chipotle Mango was unique with a sweet heat taste and I liked it the best. The Carolina BBQ was a mustard base BBQ sauce. Spicy Teriyaki is self-explanatory. The ranch is not homemade. I would order wings here again. There are about 15 sauces to choose from. My buddy got a burger and that burger looked legit. He said it was a fresh-made patty seasoned just like home. I had a sweet tooth going that night. They have 2 desserts made in-house: Bread Pudding and Oreo Peanut Butter Pie. The peanut butter pie sounded too good to pass up. It did not disappoint except that it hadn't softened enough from the cooler. It was a masterpiece with more peanut butter than Oreo. One thing I was not keen about though was the sweet tea. My guess is that it is Gold Peak, which I hate. Awesome dive on the beach with better than average food with live music and good times! This is a great beach bar for take out. It was too crowded and busy to eat there, and it didn't look like they were maintaining social distancing either. The place doesn't look much from the inside or outside so I preferred take out over dining there. This restaurant is local's favorite and gets quite busy with live music no matter what time of the day it is. We tried it on a Thursday around 5pm and it was very busy. We ordered their chicken wings, which came highly recommended. No doubt because they were great! We tried 25 chicken wings (half spicy garlic flavor and the other half traditional buffalo flavor). Both of them tasted fresh and delicious. They come with the usual celery with ranch or blue cheese. We got all the flat wings with extra hot sauce. We also got a side order of their sweet potato fries and those tasted really good. Their cheeseburger was huge and delicious as well. What I loved was that the food tasted fresh and service was quick. We placed the order and within 20 minutes or so, we got the call that our food was ready. It was hard to place the order though because the server could barely hear us due to the loud music there. I would return there to try other food items from the menu or even the chicken wings again! Restaurant change hands a few months ago and although it's not the same it hasn't really gotten any worse. The burgers and wings are really good. But what they call famous pizza is a frozen cracker crust with toppings thrown on top. It is okay at best for a child. Any adult who enjoys this pizza should really just get one from the gas station instead because it will be better quality. Service is usually pretty good but can be hit or miss. We love the ambience because we get to sit outside and our bathing suits on Sunday afternoons read more
