I have been working out here at The Pilates Path Studio for almost 7 years. When I first started Pilates in Los Angeles 9 years ago, I had the opportunity to work with several instructors in four studios. I found a few instructors who served no better purpose than to tell me what to do and count off the repetitions for me. I found another who injured me each time I worked out with her. Then about a year before I left L.A., I found my wonderful instructor and hated to leave her. I was very concerned about finding someone here in the Coachella Valley who was just as talented. I wanted to find someone who gave me a workout that would challenge me without injuring me. I had no luck with the first instructor I tried in Cathedral City, so driving by the Pilates Path Studio, I called them and spoke with Shary. I told her what I was looking for in an instructor. All it took was a couple of lessons before I realized that I struck gold. I find it incredible that as I grow older, I grow more well defined muscles. Different muscles that weren't there even two years ago have popped up. My abs are so strong, it's amazing to me. I was on a flight recently waiting for the restroom and the flight attendant asked me if I did Pilates. "Was it my posture?", I asked. She said she could "just tell". I am now working out with Josie because Shary has retired and only works a few months per year. Josie is just as talented as Shary. She gets me to think about so many things as I do the movements, that if I arrive uptight, all is forgotten within 10 minutes. I walk out of there taller, stronger, more flexible and content. I am writing this to help the snowbirds and transplants who love their Pilates instructors. You can have faith that the instructors don't go through the motions with you here. They work hard in their coaching, and you will reap the benefits. Any locals who want to give Pilates a try, start here. I live in uptown Palm Springs and pass by a lot of studios to come here because in my opinion, these people completely understand what it takes to help you reach your fitness goals through Pilates.

I found this place and walked in to inquire about the Yelp promo I had seen offering 1 free session. As soon as I walked in, I could sense attitude coming from the owner Johnny, especially after asking about the Yelp promo WHICH IS LISTED HERE ON HIS YELP PAGE. He told me to come back for one of the afternoon classes, then immediately took it back and told me that the class was cancelled and to come for a different class that would start in 15 minutes. I already felt the negativity in his voice and was hesitant but decided to let it go and give it a try. The pilates class itself was not bad and that is the only reason I am even giving it a star at all. But still, Johnny was being very cold toward me and was only acting that way toward me, and not to the other attendees. There was even another person in the class who was there for the first time, yet Johnny was nice and helpful to him but not treating me with that same kindness. Immediately after the class, Johnny loudly says to me in front of the everyone, "How are you going to pay me?". I reminded him of the Yelp promo we had discussed earlier and he snarkily said "OK so do that then." Then while collecting payment from the other first timer, he sarcastically said "I love you. This is so nice" to the man, while holding up his credit card. I knew that was directed toward me because he was upset that I wanted to use the free session coupon. I felt so disrespected that I just ended up walking away after that. I have NEVER experienced such disrespect at any Pilates studio I had been to before, and I've gone to many. I was being very respectful and nice, even though I was being treated the exact opposite. He shouldn't be including a free session promo on his Yelp page if he doesn't want people to ask about it. I would think twice before coming here, especially if you are just visiting. Places like this will never earn my business again and I will make sure to warn all of my friends and family visiting Palm Springs. I also noticed later that all of his Yelp reviews are from years ago and that should have already been a red flag to me.

What he got right: - within 10 minutes he redeemed my Wellness Benefit - he was fully transparent about this benefit and offered suggestions on how to ensure I could book classes in spite of high demand - without feeling like he was trying to upsell me, he suggested other membership options - his staff was welcoming and super friendly Because of this I would like to give this studio a try.

My back was so bad, I had to give up tennis, golf, and could hardly get into and out of bed. I was since diagnosed with moderate Ehlers Danlos syndrome. Once I started working out with Lisa, I saw a noticeable improvement immediately. Her style of training combines education of the spine and many tiny muscles that need to be activated. She ensures proper form while offering detailed explanations and analogies. Additionally, she is always providing support and understanding in what you are enduring.
