Dr. Kyrzynske's nurses are professional andcompassionate. I've never felt rushed as they gather information, review medications, or make notes for Dr. Kurzynske's review. But, it is Dr. Kurzynske who makes one feel like a real person with real value with real issues. He listens attentively, probes to ascertain issues, is not rebuffed by questions, and makes his patients feel like they've been heard and receiving the best medical attention and actions that a primary care physician could offer. He is knowledgeable and trusted to be current in that knowledge. He views patients as whole persons, physically, mentally, and emotionally. He sees the patient in context of their circumstances (i.e., impacted by needs resulting from work and family situations). His compassion is real and comforting. He is forthright in positive and helpful ways. His sense of humor is appreciated. Dr. Kurzynske is one in a billion!

I don't know if I am doing this correctly, but I would honestly advise against using Sterling. I made an appointment months in advance because I was struggling with depression and wanted to pursue getting antidepressant medication in addition to diet, exercise, and therapy. I confirmed my appointment two days in advance, signed my forms digitally, and was glad about getting help for my condition. They responded to my confirmation with an additional message, so my confirmation was confirmed. Thirty minutes before my appointment, they let me know it had been cancelled. I called the office to ask why, and perhaps reschedule. I get it. Sometimes physicians get sick or have a family emergency. That would have been totally okay and I could have done the appointment another time. The receptionist pretty rudely informed me that my would-be psychiatrist quit a month ago, and that she was no longer with Sterling. I told her that was a bit confusing for me as the patient, because they still confirmed my appointment. She responded to this negatively as well, and when I asked about scheduling with another physician, she said that would be not likely or not possible because Sterling only has one psychiatrist and he is far too booked up. I really needed help with my depression, and I wish that Sterling hadn't given me what was basically a fake appointment. I also wish they weren't so rude when I was following up looking for care. If I had known my physician quit, or that the appointment wasn't happening, I could have gotten treatment somewhere else. Now, I am still in need of medical advice regarding my depression, but I'll likely have to wait a few more weeks to get advice somewhere else while my condition worsens. I can't speak for every physician or every patient experience, and I am sure that Sterling has some great physicians and patients with great experiences. However, my experience was pretty bad. My advice would be to either get psychiatric care somewhere else, or to pick up the phone and call to confirm appointments, because they'll apparently mislead you about availability and confirmation through both text and email. Arrived a few minutes late but was not an issue. Receptionists were very nice and informative. Got in to a patient's room within 5 minutes of checking in and completing two pages of paperwork. The nurse practitioner was very thorough and took down my symptoms and history. Dr Bloom came in about 20 minutes later. He was informative, pleasant, and thorough. Prescribed a decongestant and gave a recommendation on a OTC expectorant to take. Very happy overall with the experience.

After giving my name, I was directed to step on a scale and provide measurements--no introduction, no explanation, no basic courtesy. It felt more like processing inventory than welcoming a person. Then came the actual "care" session. The provider launched into a rapid-fire explanation of all the ways the clinic can bill you, delivered with the energy of a fast-talking sitcom character. She shared that she knew I had already been given all of those details though just wanted to recap again. Then, she told me why she thought I was there which was not accurate. I asked her to slow down and please take the time to have dialogue instead of talking at me. She never asked meaningful questions or or make a genuine attempt to understand why I was there, which made any real conversation about mental health impossible. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, disinterested, and transactional from start to finish. The caregiver, in particular, seemed better suited to a role with minimal human interaction - perhaps guarding an empty museum wing, because meaningful engagement was clearly not part of the approach. I am genuinely appalled and disturbed this clinic presents itself as having any aptitude in mental health care. None of them demonstrated an ounce of intellectual curiosity or communication skills which should be critical in caregiving roles.

I finally had to tell him that I graduated from Vanderbilt and this is not normal diarrhea and the cramping is not the type of pain that I am used to when I do have diarrhea. I asked if they did testing for cyclosporiasis and he said he did not know what it was. I paid 130 dollars for him to try and scoot me out of the door with some imodium before ever listening to what issues I had, what food I had eaten or anything. I had to tell him that when I had appendicitis the cramping was far worse than this but this cramping pain is definitely not something I experience regularly. He brushed it off and said I should try the health department. He wrote me a prescription for antibiotics. I won't take them until I can get tested for the parasite.
