Food was your average run of the mill items on the buffet. Nothing to write home about. But it was good for the price and filling. The sweet tea was pretty good. The desert I had was also good as well. The hostess was friendly and so was the waitress. I tried three meats from the buffet. Chicken strips which were good. The bbq pork chop was also good. The Buffalo chicken wings not so much. They were coated in buffalo sauce. But had absolutely no taste. The restaurant was clean and the tables and chairs all seem to be in good shape from what I could see in the area I dined in. The music was turned up pretty loud. But shortly thereafter it was turned down. I would dine here again. It was a decent lunch. It was also extremely busy. read more

Being from the area, I'm so reluctant to leave a local bad review, but the Patio has to do better. As a little girl we would come here for our "nicest" restaurant night out. Those times are gone. In the past few years, The only good things on the buffet are fried, steaks are painfully low quality, and they can't mix a cocktail. There's no love or passion put into the food or service. The last time we made a reservation here, we were given a folding table with plastic tablecloth when there were still plenty of the same size of standard tables remaining. Still not sure what happened there. From what I can tell, the only people keeping it alive are those in town who still remember it as the "nicest" restaurant, and don't feel there's a better option without making a longer drive. One of the best salad bars around! Also has a variety of hot food on the bar daily. Menu with multiple options like burgers, chicken sandwiches and steaks. This is a restaurant that has been open for over 50 years and I've never had anything I didn't like. My go to is the Chicken Maui. Third time here because the first two times the lights were on, the door was unlocked, I saw people walking inside, however " sorry, we're not open right now" Well how about keeping the door locked until you are ? I was seated after the hostess finished her tasks and answering the phone. The waitress came right away and took my drink order. I asked for the buffet. The chicken was very over cooked and dry with no flavor except for a thin smear of what was probably a bbq sauce. It was tough to chew and hard to swallow. Thankfully I had some tea. The fish was pretty decent. Very tender inside the crust. Mashed potatoes were decent. Two gravies, the white one was ok. The brown one was not great and indescribable in the flavor. The Mac and cheese was - orange and sticky. That should be a new flavor description because that's only what it tasted like. There was something in a pan that I'm going to call chicken and dumplings. Some boiled cabbage. The corn looked like it had a lot of black pepper in it but not much flavor and seemed like the kernels had dried out some because it stuck to my teeth really bad. The sausage and bell peppers were not good to me either. The seafood salad just tasted like cold mayonnaise. So after all of this I thought I'd try a piece of chocolate cake. It looked like your typical chocolate pudding and whipped cream type of cake with a smear of whipped cream on top with bits of chocolate cookies on top of that. The desert plate it was on was Stuck to the surface it was sitting on. When I got back to my table I could see that all of the surfaces , top and sides, were filmed over like you would expect if you were to put it back in the refrigerator over night to set out the next day , or two. Buffet was hot and fresh. Due to our 2020 pandemic they are serving up items of your choice for you with generous scoops of delicious salads and the meats on the line were spot on, the best was the breaded white fish that was tasty and hot. Teriyaki chicken was tender and delicious. MASHED taters were amazing, creek fries were not. Desserts come with buffet. Banana pudding was extra fresh with lots of bananas. I drove over an hour to eat Valentine's dinner at Patio. We have eaten here several times with good food and service. After tonight, we will not be back. I found a hair in my salad after taking one bite! The waitress took it without apology and stated she would get another. Obviously, I do not want another being disgusted by the hair, and at that point, I was not offered a different side. I get my meal, take a few bites of my oversalted pork chop, take one bite of German potatoes, and find a small black curly hair. Get the waitress who responds. I checked those for hair before I gave them to you. Really?!? So had they found it, would they have just pulled it out and served it anyway? When she takes it, another lady comes out to state she did not see the hair on the potatoes but did see the one in the salad and ask what I was after, a discount. I did not drive over an hour to take a few bites of food. When the waitress returned with my $5.00 discounted bill for a meal I did not eat, I asked if the lady that came out was the manager, and she replied that she's the owner. We did not even mention the missing side of macaroni and cheese.!! It is understandable that hairs and such may occasionally get into food, but being treated like a liar or that I'm after a free meal by both the waitress and owner is not acceptable, which is why we will not be returning. read more

The bourbon bacon burger was great, but the Cajun chicken sandwich was a bit dry. We ordered onion rings and sweet potato as our sides. We got regular baked potatoes in both meals. Seriously? Staff needs to pay attention to detail. At least read the ticket and not assume every order is the same. I called to let them know and did not want to take it back for an exchange. I'm sure they would have offered to fix it if I had forced the issue. Of course, it was an online order, they had my number. If they were serious about customer service they could have reached out to fix it/deliver it. What am I thinking, there's no such thing as customer service anymore just cancel culture. Given there isn't much of an option for eating between Cannelton and Tell City along the river, we stopped at one of the only eating spots which seems to always be busy. I can't say I'm a huge fan of down-home Southern Indiana cooking so this review is solely based on that. Now if I was a fan my review would go up by 2 stars I'm sure, so if you're looking for that type of fare I would recommend stopping for a hearty meal. Having pre-cursored my review I would say that the food seems just mediocre to me. We stopped for lunch and the buffet was fairly extensive given the area. (Yes, you do have the option of ordering off the menu.) The salad bar portion is probably the best around. Lots of choices which was really nice. The food portion is your typical...mac 'n cheese (super runny), mashed taters, fried chicken, sweet and sour chicken (I think it was anyway but chicken was very dry), green beans, etc. and the dessert options were quite plentiful with some really good looking cobblers and soft serve ice cream. I also want to mention our server was awesome. Very friendly and attentive. So like I said, based on my likes and dislikes I am only giving a 3 but if you're looking for a buffet with lots of options you will probably need to base it on a 4 or 5 star review. read more

Not bad! Came here for dinner on a rainy Wednesday night as a party of four. We were seated promptly (the restaurant was relatively empty, probably due to the rain) and were handed menus. I glanced at the menu for a bit, but then all of us decided to do the buffet. The buffet has all of the fixings for a decent salad bar, a few breaded and fried foods (chicken and fish), boneless wings, taquitos, kielbasa, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, basically all-American fare. There's also soft-serve ice cream, cookies, and a few other cakes and pies/cobblers. The food was decent, and the price is great ($10 for dinner). On Fridays, they have a seafood buffet (and the parking lot gets packed, from what I've seen). The menu has some decent sounding dishes (though I haven't tried any). It's called a steakhouse but there were only four steaks on the menu, none of which were v. fancy. The staff was really attentive, but that could also have been because the restaurant was empty except for our table and one other. read more

Just visited the Patio for the first time this evening. Hubby and I were craving a buffet and didn't want to pay cab fare to Owensboro for Golden Corral. Looked up "all you can eat" on Google Maps and found the Patio. I think we've found our new favorite dinner place. Just over the Cannelton city limit it's close to our house. We got there right as the dinner buffet opened. Everything was fresh, plates and silverware were spotless, restaurant is clean and smells like heaven with fresh dinner rolls. Servers are very sweet and attentive. Ours checked on us often and was very friendly and kind. Other servers always checked our table when walking past even though we weren't in their section which is a level of service you rarely see anymore. The food is delicious. Good southern home cooking. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING is homemade. You have to try the hand battered fish. It's absolutely perfect and with homemade tartar sauce to boot! Yum! And to top it all off someone in the restaurant paid our meal. We couldn't find out who it was but it was such a wonderful treat. Great restaurant with lots and lots of homemade entrees and sides and delicious cornbread and desserts. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The selection on their buffet was awesome. Everything from tender steak to shrimp and bacon wrapped pork medallions. The salad bar had so many items on it that I almost needed 2 plates to try everything. Every year I visit Tell City, and every year requires a visit to "The Patio". If steak is in your future, then this is the place for Tell City. A bigger seafood selection would of been nice, though when asked for Salmon, I was not disappointed. They do have a buffet, but not being a fan of such, I passed. Waitstaff made you feel like they were overwhelmed, not over joyed for your visit, though it was dinner on a Teusday!
