The proof is in the pudding, and I don't go there for ambiance or quick, efficient service. It's a SMALL bakery. I go there because the bakery fares are magnifique! Mwah! Delicious beyond description. Puts regular bakeries to shame. Not only do I love their pastries, but I had them do my daughter's wedding cake. TO DIE FOR!! The talk of the reception!

Today April 18th at 7:01 pm, I happened to be in my car watching this franchise work and prep their desserts, they are not clean or sanitary. I've witnessed bakers taking food/ with their bare hands no gloves from one location next door which seems to be an apartment, that have a built in kitchen. To the restaurant Approximately around 7:08pm this baker took the desserts he cut up and walked next door and put them in a fridge. No gloves, in sight. I have never in my life seen such cooking behaviors, high levels of un sanitation, in my life. Please be aware and take major precautions before deciding to order or support this establishment.

As a long-time customer of this patisserie, I have experienced a range of highs and lows that make it a bit of a mixed bag. The cakes are consistently amazing! I love Royale, Cassis Mousse, and Opera. When it comes to pastries, it's hit or miss. When fresh out of the oven the spinach ricotta croissant, ham cheese croissant, and pain au chocolat are wonderfully delicious. However, there have been times when they were stale or old (right when they open in the morning!), which is disappointing. Given the steep prices, I expect a higher standard of freshness and quality. The customer service needs improvement. Many times I've encountered unfriendly or even rude staff. Smh. Another aspect to keep in mind is the location. The area around the patisserie doesn't feel very safe, so it's wise to be mindful when visiting. If you're willing to navigate these inconsistencies and embrace a bit of unpredictability, check it out!

I really enjoy pastry shops and am a bit of a francophile, so I was very excited that Patisserie Poupon was within walking distance of my hotel. Unfortunately, the closer you get to the shop, the sketchier the area. Luckily I was walking with two others and it was broad daylight, but otherwise I might have turned back and Ubered instead. The shop itself it very modest and if you didn't know it was there you could walk right past. Inside they have displays with cakes and their pastry items available for individual purchase, of which there were probably two dozen or more options. I got several items - opera, pistachio eclair, chocolate chip walnut cookie, Madeline, almond croissant, and pain au chocolat. My favorite item was the opera by far - super creamy with sweetness balanced by the bitter coffee cream. I am not a coffee lover, but really enjoyed this dessert. The rest of the items I honestly could've done without and have had better versions of elsewhere. I tried them all, but didn't finish them all. I think the shop is worth a pop-by if you're visiting but I am not sure I'd return if I lived in the area personally.

Upon a local recommendation I decided to order a birthday cake to brighten up my baby's day as she graduating and is reluctant to celebrate and I'm almost 3000 miles away. First, the delivery driver went above and beyond to make sure this cake was sent to my daughter's college dorm room, despite the security desk being a total pain about it, and not caring one way or another. My kid and her friends called me Oohing excited about how beautiful the cake was and heard back later it was just as delicious. Yes it ultimately was a really nice birthday and this cake made it so much more special! This is the Cake Royale, chocolate mousse, hazelnut meringue layer, more chocolate and hazelnuts.

2 words Kouign Amman. This bakery stands the test of time with how delicious all of the items are here. All of the cookies, croissants, danish, and rolls I tried were amazing but without a doubt the star of the show for me was the Kougin Amman. It was perfectly flaky with a coating of glazed caramel and is what the phrase "party in your mouth" is coined for. I loved chatting with the lady helping us, she was so friendly and fun and I can't wait to come back for more.

A quaint bakery in an obscure part of the city in my opinion but oh my, their desserts are delicious (haven't tried any baked goods yet). They have a good selection of chilled desserts in their refrigerated section and a counter full of their bakery items. The few desserts I've tried are the strawberry fraisier, pistachio & coffee eclairs, and fruit tart - all have been so good! Nothing to rave about the decor but staff are friendly and provide efficient service.

If you want to taste authentic french pastries you must head to Patisserie. Not only are the desserts delectable but they're gorgeous and easy on the eyes as well as the sweet tooth.

Please note that this review is part of my Fancy Feast series! Taste: 5 paws. Sensibly sweet! Value: 3-4 paws Bottom line: the best French cakes and pastries that Baltimore has to offer! As a stray cat, I don't eat fancy foods often but every once in a while I indulge myself with some of the best desserts that Baltimore has to offer! They have a wide variety of cakes to satisfy almost any palate. One noticeable thing about their desserts are that they not cloyingly sweet like many other dessert shops in Baltimore (I'm looking at you, Sacre Sucre! *meow*). At Patisserie Poupon, you can actually taste the cocoa, creme, and fruit. The sugar is used sensibly to highlight these flavors rather than to overpower them. The only downside to Patisserie Poupon is that their prices are on the higher side (~$6 per cake), but I do think that they are still worth every penny! Cake recommendations (top tier): - Royale - hazelnut and chocolate cake with chocolate macaron - Tiramisu - light and fluffy, just like me! - Mixed Fruit Cheesecake - creamy and decadent! Cake recommendations (close but no Royale): - Opera - almond and chocolate cake with coffee buttercream - Mixed Fruit Tart - for when I need my serving of fruit - Lemon Meringue Pie - sweet and tart - Cassis Mousse - blackcurrant and white chocolate cake - Apricot Tart - the apricots are the star! - Frasier - strawberry cream cake Cakes that I find to be "meh": - Apple tart and Pear tart - these are decent but not particularly special. Not worth the premium price :( - Eclairs (varied) - I find these to be okay and not particularly special. I've never had an éclair that I've liked though. - Millefeuille au Caramel - puff pastry with pastry cream - the caramel is hard to break through without mangling the entire dessert. I do not like this dessert And this concludes the first of my Fancy Feast reviews! *meow*

Not knowing exactly what I was looking for, the staff were outstanding assisting me with what I needed. I placed the order and paid for the cake and was about to leave when I decided that I wanted a treat for myself and I got a triple chocolate cheesecake cupcake which was out of this world. When I got home, I found out the birthday girl wanted an all chocolate cake and knowing that that was an option, I called the store back and asked if there was a way that we could modify what I had ordered for something else. Since it was more than a week before the cake was being picked up, they said it was no problem. Really great store, super location, delicious cake items, and they even have dog biscuits and pupcakes for our furry friends. Can't say enough about this place and I highly recommend to visit here if you're looking for a cake for a special occasion and if you need a gluten-free cake they have many options for you to choose from. The cake prices are reasonable here and this will be my place of choice not only now but for the future. I highly recommend a visit here.

First, this is not really a retail bakery. So I had to hit a buzzer for someone to open the door. Ok...fine. someone did come out and let me in the store. The store looks in shambles. Literally there was like 6 half dozen carts of sweet potato cupcakes and a couple fruity pebble cupcakes in a small counter top fridge thing. Honestly it was super sketchy. The man sold me the sweet potato cupcakes and two fruity pebble cupcakes, but he was still wearing the gloves he opened the door with and my payment, so I was like well at least im the first person here. I did not see him take the gloves off after I left. The fruity pebble cupcakes were meh. It had this weird red dye to center of the cupcake and the icing was eh. The sweet potato cupcakes tasted like Thanksgiving. They really are delicious. I dont know how this bakery makes money, or who they sell to, but they need to fix up their store front. I saw that they were broken into some time ago. I thibk if this place was relocated and had a not so rough looking storefront it would do really well.

It was so busy for the July 4th holiday, that our server took our order, didn't put our order into the kitchen. Finally, after waiting for about an hour for our food, we flag the manager, Virginia, down a tell her what's happened. She says something to our server and he says, "They weren't ready to order, yet. They never ordered." WHAT??!! So, that's when Virginia offered make things right by offering us a gift card for our next visit. However, they were in transition at the time, in changing the restaurant from Cindy Lou's to La Jetee. Once that change was complete she would draw a gift card for the new restaurant. It took some time and some of my wife's ability to keep following up until what was promised happens, but we finally received that La Jetee gift card in the mail several months later. The Canopy is our favorite place to stay when we're in Baltimore. So, we're here at least once a year. That brings us to the present. Keith, the new manager, we had an opportunity to speak with this morning and told him all about our experience last year and also, told him about the gift card and that it was my wife's birthday that we're celebrating this weekend and we had reservations for 6pm. He welcomed us back and was glad we decided to give La Jetee a chance. When we arrived for dinner, the very nice hostess took our name and saw that Keith had noted in our reservation that it was a birthday we were celebrating. She wish my wife a happy birthday and seated us. Keith came over and welcomed us back again and explained the wine specials. Jazz was our server and she was very nice, attentive and helpful. Matter of fact, 7 staff members managed to stop at our table for one reason or another. I have to say, great service. The atmosphere was classic and buzzing at dinner time.
