I can't say enough about how much I love everything about this place. Patricia does amazing curly hair cuts and color. I had a very bad experience with this salon. My appointment was at 8.45 am. They sent me an email at 8:52 am (7 mins later) telling me that they tried to call me and the call wasn't going through. Very weird considering that they did call me when they needed my Credit Card number to register my appointment!!! The email said that they had "to cancel the appointment and charge $50 for a no show fee. " When I arrived at the salon, at 8:55 am they did not let me in, they were very rude and then charged 50$ fee. Then, they sent me an email stating the following: "We have an 8 minute grace period and it was 10 minutes past your appointment time when you arrived. When clients are more than 8 minutes late, it does not allow our stylists to effectively perform services and causes delays in their schedules for the rest of the day." But they had already canceled my appointment at 8:52!! So, If you decide to go to this salon be prepared to set up a TIMER!!! Such a nasty business!!! read more

I have been going to the Patricia Perry Salon since they opened. Jen is the BEST and can do absolutely anything. Over the years she has styled my hair from short to long and then back to short again, different colors and styles and even a Deva cut. She's not a one-trick pony which some stylists can be. They are doing a great job with providing an environment that feels safe properly distanced (though I do miss Mara's mimosa's!). Everyone I've interacted with at the Salon has been great. Due to their demand it can be a wait for an appointment so it is best to schedule in advance. The new online appointment system is very easy to use. read more

Okay curly hair girls. You need a deva cut by Jennifer. If you're getting a traditional haircut you're not making the most out of your curls. Jennifer knows exactly how to cut to the shape of your face...she also knows what to do with the way your hair naturally wants to lay. In the past I have been annoyed because even though I had layers, I felt like my hair was a triangle shape which doesn't look too hot. Jennifer is so nice and really knows what she's doing. You will not be disappointed if you get a deva cut with Jennifer. I'm attaching some pics so you see what my hair looked like last time I was there. The virtual consultation is a little silly and redundant bc you still can't get the whole of picture of someone's hair just the length. I am brunette and recently had some blonde balayage. I was coming for a hair cut and some more blonde. The "blonde guru," did a good job with the coloring. Unfortunately i showed her front and side photo of what i wanted and she cut of a lot more than the picture portrayed. (I had pretty long hair to begin with). I wasn't mad but i pointed out it's really short and she says, "no, it's as we discussed." It was weird. I let it go bc at this point it's gone; no point being mad just gotta see the end result. So now it's the final check/cut. I said can you not cut much more off it's already so short. And she said, " I'm not, this is shaping." She also double downed on the whole it's what we discussed. I said, " it looks good, but it's absolutely nothing like what i showed you." Honestly it wasn't. She's a blonde guru maybe cutting isn't the guru part. Maybe she accidentally cut shorter than she thought and had to work with it. Either way the defensive tone and dismissive attitude toward a blatant disregard for a photo i showed is awkward. Plus, not all hair is capable of a cut, maybe that's the case for me. Just be honest, Don't acknowledge what i want then not do it and gas light the issue. It was weird. But like i said, it ended up looking good and it's not like i can glue it back so no point is going back and forth. I made an appt for 10, which is when they open. I followed their instructions and arrived 10 min early. You have to wait in the car to go in. I waited until exactly 10, but i saw they'll cancel you right away if your a little late. The girl who washed my hair had long nails and really hurt my head. Normally the hair washing is the best part, not here. I'm happy with the results but it was an ok experience over all. read more

Got a Deva cut with Jen. Super nice! But at the end of the appointment she said if I needed to come back in during the week for touch ups to let her know. For $125 I figured once I left the salon my cut would be good to go. I had properly styled and detangled before my appointment although my hair is SUPER coarse, dense, and curly. All I asked for was a trim. At home I immediately noticed one strip of hair that was significantly longer than the rest. That's when I noticed how uneven my cut was in the back of my head. Some layers much shorter and longer than others. They are very nice here but I will continue searching for a salon that can work with my ethnic hair. read more

AMAZING HAIR CUT AND EXPERIENCE! I went in for a "diva cut", everything is geared towards curly hair. The dry cut, the wash, the dry, and it's all wonderful. The place is super cute with parking in front. They're generous with refreshments, and it's really cozy while you wait. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I went in very nervous for a hair cut and felt comfortable immediately. Patricia asks you questions about your hair to try to get a feel for what you're looking for and what's important to you. I went in for a deva cut and I was unable to get the haircut because the person who gave me the instructions over the phone told me that my hair had to be down and combed out and when I got there the hairstylist Jennifer said it had to be curly and in its natural state ( down ). She was beyond rude and not helpful at all. It was as if she did not even want to do the haircut. If you do not have a welcoming environment that is also helpful you won't be getting new customers. What are you waiting for? I have been wanting to try PP from the time they opened. I finally went about a week ago and I have been kicking myself ever since for not getting there sooner! Don't be like me, just book your appointment!! I've lived in this town for 9 years and was never completely satisfied with the salons I've tried...I finally found my place! Great atmosphere, all staff was really friendly and attentive. It didn't feel like my first time there. Practically greeted at the door with a (much needed) drink. Matthew was very helpful on the phone when I was booking, and also when I arrived. Patricia has a great personality and took the time to listen to me explain what I wanted, but also gave her opinion and made recommendations. My cut and color are perfect and I couldn't be happier. Wonderful customer service! It was said at least 3 times, "if you aren't happy with something, call us back". They gave me some great samples to try on my curly kid too. Got my hair colored/cut today by Jessie. She is absolutely phenomenal at coloring, cutting and styling! And to top it off, she's totally cool. The salon is very chic- open floor plan, beautiful decor but not stuffy. It's very comfortable and inviting. As soon as I walked on I was greeted by a gentleman offering me water, coffee, mimosas....... ummm mimosas? Yeah, I jumped on that. What a way to be greeted! After a consultation with Jessie she went to work. It almost felt like a day at a spa- sipping mimosas while engaging in great conversation with other clients. Mara, who washed my hair, was super friendly and couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable. When she shampooed my hair it felt like more of a head massage. It was fantastic! SO for those who are not interested in reading the entire review here is the cliff notes. From the point I called to make the appointment I was impressed! I Loved the elegant decore as well as the friendliness of the staff. And this has been hands down THE BEST haircut/highlight experience of my life! Now for those, like me, who want all the gritty details. The Call. So I called to set up a Deva cut and highlights, which I had swore I would never do again, and I also wanted the bonder because of previous bad experiences with breakage after highlights. The gentleman on the phone, who i want to call Matt or Mike ( I CAN'T remember!) was extreamly knowlegable and friendly. Asking me questions about my hairtype to make sure I was put with the best stylist. Also answered ALL, and yes I had alot, of questions about the bonder and which stylist was better (he didnt actually answer that one, rather he deflected, wise move), once I was satisfied I made my appt and waited till it arrived. The appointment. First of all the place is Beautiful inside! wide open with these amazing chandeliers and beautiful framed mirrors. I had never been there and Matt/Mike (watch his name be Phillip or something that doesnt sound like matt or mike) knew who I was with out me opening my mouth. I was given new client sheet to fill out and was offered Coffee, water, wine or a mimosa! There is a first, Very night touch! Next my Stylist Jenn came over and I loved her personalliy immediatly! I explained what I wanted and why and she asked my about my general hair care routine what products I use and the explained how I could get better use of the products if I did a few things differently. After my Cut and highlights, Which Im thrilled with, Mara washed my hair and did the Deva Process. Although I was already Using Deva products she gave the every step process and let me feel my hair so I would know how much conditioner was the right amount and how much should be left in before appling stylers. This step had never been taken with me before and this was not my first deva cut! After all of that was finished i sat under the drier and read my book. Once fully dry Jenn did a little more shapping of my cut and made sure i was happy with everything. Price I was there 3 1/2 hours and had a cut, highlights, and the Olaplex bonder. I have been going to this salon for the past five years consistently and have loved the haircuts, color treatments, and customer experience. Unfortunately, this last experience changed all that. I booked a haircut appointment for a Wednesday and found out on Monday that I would have a work conflict so I would not be able to make it. I called on Monday to reschedule but the salon was unfortunately closed. I figured I would call on Tuesday (24 hour notice) to let them know as I had never had an issue before. When I called I could not get through to anyone so I left a message and emailed them to let them know. I got an email back stating that they would be charging me a $50 fee because I had not given them 48 hours advance notice. I called and was rudely informed that the policy had been in place for 2 years and that I just needed to pay it. I had never been made aware of the policy (maybe because I have been going there so long and there was no formal way to let me know or maybe because I always call in my appointments and have never had to acknowledge their new policy?). Anyway, I asked for a one time exception as I really did not know and she again rudely said sorry, you have to pay no exceptions. As a long-time customer this is very disappointing as this is pretty awful customer service to your loyal customer base. Needless to say, never going back. read more

My first appointment at Patricia Perry was great because I found my former hairdresser who went back to work. The salons appearance is sparse, cold, and barely decorated, and offers none of the amenities you would expect at the prices they charge. The receptionist is also WAY out of sync with the salon and intimidating as you walk in. He is a big, large sized man, that's scruffy, loud, tattooed even on his neck, and looks like he should be fixing motorcycles in a bar, not making clients feel welcome and relaxed at an "upscale" salon. He even makes you take this bizarre prison-like photo during your first visit. Despite the lack of decor, odd receptionist, high prices, and almost impossible to find location, I still left a happy lady. My attempt at getting a 2nd appointment spurred my frustration at PP. I had to wait SIX weeks for an appointment. Then finally driving to this appointment, I get a call that my appointment is canceled. I actually understood because I was running 10-15 minutes late. Those 10 minutes meant they couldn't hold my appointment. Apparently, they book clients every 15 minutes for the hairdresser. I hate when salons do that. I prefer to have someone's full attention and talent, not an assistant, for the minimum $250 I spend. WARNING: if you're like me, human with a busy life, e.g., a toddler that requires waiting on a flighty babysitter, a demanding boss that suddenly needs it now, or a dying parent you help care for that may take 15 extra minutes trying to swallow, this is NOT the place for you. If you can leave VERY early, and give yourself plenty of spare time to factor in any and every possible 30 minute traffic delay, then this is the place for you. After my phone call from the owner's husband/receptionist we rescheduled after going back-and-forth multiple times. We rescheduled for the following week at 12:00 PM. Nervous about my babysitter canceling or coming late, I pulled over and texted my mom and Aunt asking them to watch my daughter on that date at 12 PM. When I arrived at my appointment I was 5 minutes early. I joked that I was early this time. To my surprise, the reception guy loudly said: what are you talking about? you're way late. I thought he was joking. He gave me a dirty look, glanced at his paper and told me my appointment was at 10:30 AM. I politely said, no, it was not. They made a mistake. I asked him to look at my phone so he could see the text from last week when I immediately asked my family to watch my daughter at noon. He refused. Then he told me I got their confirmation text that morning too, so I had no excuse for being late. Again, I showed him my phone and said I never received any text. He refused to look again. Then I pointed out that I would never agree to an appointment at 10:30 AM because that is when I help bring my father to and from the bathroom. He just shook his head and said no, no, no. I said I would be happy to admit if this was my mistake, I make many of them, but this time I know I am correct, it was your error not mine. I just want my appointment. With an annoyed sigh, he told me if I waited around maybe I could have my color done but there was no way I was getting a haircut or a blow dry that day. I was furious. All of the waiting, the canceling, and then the SALON getting the time wrong but refusing to admit it or provide ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE, I said forget it. They lost a customer who would have spent large sums of money to have her hair done here by Jess, the way I like it. I will never set foot in that place again. Yes my hairdresser was great, and I was happy to find her again, but the next day I went to my aunts salon and for $90 I got the best color and haircut of my entire life. From a down to earth, talented woman, that didn't give me the Westfield once-over as I walked inside. AVOID PATRICIA PERRY LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more

I very excited to be able to make a same day appointment at the Patricia Perry salon. I arrived promptly at 4 for my appointment, was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who offered me coffee, water or tea (a small but much appreciated gesture). The waiting area was clean, chic, and comfortable. I waited for about 5-8 minutes to be taken to the chair where Jen asked me what I wanted to do, how I style my hair, everything. Jen did the most amazing job, she took her time and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted and gave me advice on how to upkeep with growing out my hair. I'm so happy to have finally found someone that I will religiously be returning to. It is also always a plus when you can have a conversation with your stylist, makes the process even more enjoyable! I usually dislike or am neutral about how my hair looks after a haircut, but I LOVED my haircut from Patricia! She is amazingly talented and very fun/easy to talk to. The salon itself is pristine and the staff are very friendly. Patricia did exactly what I wanted, she made my hair look healthy and put in long layers. She kept it long enough so that it could be tied back into a pony tail and curled without becoming a short bob. I was beyond happy with my haircut and recommend it for anyone who has had a bad haircut experience in the past! I will definitely be going back. I requested a deva cut, it was a very nice cut especially considering I'm used to going to soho devachan salon but couldn't make it out to the city. However they only know how to style hair with deva products, which don't work on my 3c curls, so I brought my own product and although the woman who washed my hair was nice, she left me looking a mess bc she barely used any gel when I told her to saturate my hair in it as if it was the conditioner- I would return for a cut or blow out but not for curly styling. I started getting deva cuts for the first time about 3-4 years ago and it took me four hairstylists and a lot of dollars to finally find the right one: Jen. While my experiences at the DevaChan salon were never bad per say, they were extremely underwhelming considering the price tag. I never left completely satisfied with how they styled my hair; no matter how much guidance I gave them and insisted that no I did not want perfectly defined noodley curls; I wanted volume. I love myself some big hair. Same goes for my stylist in Brooklyn who was too lazy to deal with my amount of hair and would proceed to cut it wet, and a stylist in Morristown, NJ who although gave me big hair -cut about 4 inches more than I had asked for, left me with uneven hair, and the most awfully styled do I've ever left a professional establishment with. Then, thankfully, I found Jen. Aside from being super sweet and funny, she really takes the time to listen. She works carefully and takes the time to check in with you along the way to make sure you're happy with what she's doing. After mentioning to her that I've been part of the "curly girl" life for a few years she immediately asked me how I liked to have my hair styled and what products I preferred and proceeded to do just what I asked for using the deva products I preferred. Never tried to push new products on me or push me towards doing something I didn't like. She checked in along the way as she was cutting to make sure I was satisfied with the length (I'm trying to grow my hair out so retaining length is something I told her was important to me). She even made sure I was okay with her putting clips in my hair before putting me in the dryer (if you get deva cuts you understand what I'm talking about lol). There wasn't a single thing she did that she didn't first make sure I was ok with. For the first time since I started getting deva cuts I left the salon loving everything about my hair and not rushing to go rewash and style it the way I preferred. I blow dried my hair last week and was super pleased to find that my curly cut also translated well on to straightened hair. Cannot say enough great things about Jen. If you're particular with your hair I would definitely suggest giving her a shot. She gave me a perfect end result and cost me about $100 less than DevaChan would. read more

Huge comfy couches, AMAZING lighting & all the coffee I needed for a convenient Early Saturday morning appointment. My appointment was easy to make & I even got a text message reminder which was AWESOME considering I usually forget times & dates.. I had a complete overhaul on my hair. Roots, a full head of highlights, cut & a blow out. I have EXTREMELY thick & curly hair that was wayyy overdue for some love. My stylist Gina did WORK!!
