Previously, my old dentist spotted an infection and referred me to an endodontist, who insisted I needed an apicoectomy (gum surgery) or an implant. I was shocked and distraught. At my consultation with Dr. Rosales, he carefully explained the risks of jumping into such an invasive procedure and offered thoughtful alternatives. His professional and caring bedside manner really put my anxiety at ease. Soon after, he consulted my case with an endodontist and came back with a meticulous treatment plan. The treatment involved a root canal, lots of whitening, and replacing my two discolored crowns. My new smile is truly transformed and I'm absolutely ELATED! The cleaning was $99 but they charge you for x-rays / full exam, even though you only come in for a cleaning. I guess they require it for new patients. It was an ok cleaning I guess with a few mishaps. - The tech did not suction the water (that is flowing behind the cleaning tool), so I upchucked water on myself 2x. They didn't have papertowels nearby to clean up so I had to wait for them to get me some. - When I got home over the next several days, my floss still got stuck in my teeth. So I searched for another place to get a cleaning about 1 month later. - I think the tech is supposed to floss as part of last steps to make sure they got everything out There were some issues raised to suggest I needed to get replacements such as on my crown (that crowns only last 10-15 yrs or something) and costs $950. - I had to go get a 2nd opinion about it. The 2nd doctor said it was not necessary at this time. But the good news is, the visit inspired me to get dental insurance due to the possible need for a crown replacement in the future. So it was a good warning to do preventative care in the future.

On my most recent visit, a filling had come off and I was told I needed a root canal and crown. The estimate was very high, so I decided to seek a second opinion in Tijuana. There, the dentist was able to treat the tooth with a regular filling and advised that a root canal and crown were not necessary. As a result, I was able to save the tooth and save a significant amount of money. I saved approximately $1,500 compared to the original estimate and about $7,300 without insurance.
