This review is a bit overdue as I visited Dr. Anne Tran a few months back in late December. I had an amazing experience start to finish, from check-in to the thorough briefings of the procedures being performed. I have been consistently visiting many qualified dentists since my childhood in the Bay Area to Washington to New York, and I have to say Dr. Tran is one of the more stellar providers. Her craft and artistry is one of a kind and I left the office feeling so refreshed. The office staff and Dr. John Tran are phenomenal. Everyone is always so kind and welcoming, and Dr. Tran is probably the best dentist I've met in my life (and I've been to many, lol!). He really takes the time to explain everything (even though I don't understand 75% of it, haha) and he's always open to questions (even though I have no idea what to ask LOL). My sister recommended Dr. Tran to me. I really hate going to the dentist because I have had traumatic experiences with them. So I have not gone to the dentist for about 4 years before I saw Dr. Anne Tran. She is the only dentist I trust and will go to. She made sure I was comfortable the entire visit and listened to my concerns. She is knowledgeable and does great work. I had to have multiple fillings since I have not been to the dentist in years. She knew what she was doing and I trust her using sharp object in my mouth, unlike my previous dentists. Some notable things about her is she is great at giving injections for numbing, does through cleanings, and does not put more pressure than necessary when working on my teeth. Making my appointments were easy. I like how I can make and confirm appointments via text. Marcos is super responsive and great at communicating everything. My initial visit and follow up with Dr. Anne Tran were great. She makes my visits so comfortable. She explains what needs to be done in a way that I can fully understand. She checks on how I'm doing and adjusts quickly. She has the lightest hands. Also, she gave me the least painful shot ever. Those needles freak me out, but I could hardly feel the shot when she gave it. I am confident that my teeth will be maintained well as long as I have her as my dentist. I recently went in for a cleaning at Chapman Dental with Dr. John (I'd use his last name but there are two Trans in this office ) and all I can say is it was an amazing experience! I was seen quickly and on time and was never kept waiting. Also, all the staff were super helpful and knowledgeable. They didn't mind answering my questions and took time to give address all my concerns. The exam and cleaning was thourough as well. Dr. John was super communicative throughout the exam making sure nothing came as a surprise while he was working in my mouth. Afterwards, Dr. John took the time to walk me through his findings and giving me options on how to address them. Not once did he push anything onto me or try to upsell a service that wasn't needed. This was an in between checkup so I paid out of pocket and I was pleasantly surprised how affordable it was! I'll be looking forward to my next appointment! read more

Recommended with glowing praise by my sister, I decided to get a teeth cleaning at Dr. Tran's office. He was everything she said and more. He had the best bedside manner of any dentist I had ever visited. I was concerned with a receding gum on one tooth. My previous dentist had told me to just floss more there, which I already did, and the issue kept getting worst over the next 2 years. When I came to Dr. Tran, he said receding gums could be caused by 3 things: bacteria, fracture in the tooth, and brushing too hard. He ruled out brushing too hard because I was right-handed and the affected issue was on my left side. As he cleaned my teeth, he confirmed I did a fracture on my tooth from clenching my teeth, probably from stress, and proceeded to show me the fracture and angled the light and mirror, so I could see it. My only regret is not going to Dr. Tran earlier to get real answers. He recommended a night guard to prevent the fractures from getting worst. He thoroughly answered all of my questions and asked me if I had more, and it felt like he really cared that I was educated on my teeth, which unfortunately isn't that common. He also explained to me what my future options are. He knew I was pregnant and did not do X-rays this time and recommended doing the filling after I gave birth, as long as I was in no pain, because of the anesthesia in the blood stream. I appreciated how careful and cognizant they were of the baby and to avoid any unnecessary procedures that would harm the baby. Although I couldn't do x-rays because of the pregnancy, the office had a state-of-the-art Itero digital scanner and I could see the shape and forms of my teeth being created digitally, and the doctor could see the status of all my teeth and which ones required extra care, even before he started the cleaning. It also gives a basis to compare to the next time I come in. I was very impressed. He was gentle with the cleaning and also mentioned that where the roots are, it might be more sensitive but if I can't take it, just let him know. I appreciated that he acknowledged that it might be painful because that's probably the number one fear when I go to the dentist...that it may hurt, which sometimes it does. But not with Dr. Tran! In regards to Covid, his office took a temperature check on me when I signed in, asked me a series of questions related to exposure to covid, and his staff wore masks the entire time. His staff from Marcos to the other ladies were friendly and knowledgeable and organized with appointments. I only have great things to say about Dr. Tran and the staff at Chapman Dental, and I would recommend it to anyone I know. read more

So glad that I found this dental office. Dr Tran and his staff did an amazing job with some pretty serious dental work that I needed done. Well probably pretty easy to them, but in my eyes, an extraction where only the roots were left of the tooth, is pretty serious work. I had gone to other dentists to get an examination and they did not impress me as much as this office did. So I gave them the work and I'm glad I did. Love the new, younger Dr. Tran! My whole family does too! All of the staff is very friendly and professional. Dr. Tran prepped me for my Clear Correct (similar to Invisalign), and the results were great! He explained how the process would work, and answered any and all questions that I had throughout the process. I brought my grandma in for a new set of dentures, and she was so happy with the results! She really appreciated how he took his time, taking measurements, helping her select an appropriate color, and making the necessary adjustments so they'd fit comfortably. So let me preface this review by saying do not listen to the 2 or 3 bad reviews on here. Those are not true. I have pretty bad dental phobia and I put off going to the dentist for a good 5 or 6 years. And Dr. Tran has managed to put me completely at ease when I am in his dental chair. The only slight pain I ever feel is a sting or a pinch from the needle to numb me. He is very gentle and has a very calming and soothing voice. Always asks how you are doing to make sure you don't feel any pain at all! If you are looking for a dentist then look no further. He is also very fair and would not make you get any procedures you do not need! And his staff from marcos, to the lovely ladies are super nice and knowledgeable. I elected not to take my employer's dental insurance because it actually ends up cheaper just going to my family dentist without insurance because he's known me since I was a baby and never charges me more than he knows I can handle. So that's all good except I work and live an hour (without traffic) from my hometown where my dear dentist is located. You can imagine how much I was in a panic when I developed this toothache and the next available weekend appointment (didn't want to take off any work) for my normal dentist wasn't for another week and a half.. I looked on yelp and called a total of 4 dentists in the area with high quotes for someone without insurance or no answer altogether. I decided to call this office at 1045am on a Friday morning while at work. A nice gentlemen answered and was able to give me quotes over the phone based on what I described that I needed done (based on web md searches online! Lol). He was honest about how much it could go up to but assured me that it would be best to come in, get an xray, check up, and routine cleaning for $50 and then we can discuss options from there. So I made the call at 1045am, was able to be squeezed in at 1115am, ended up getting an xray, got a cavity filled, and a deep cleaning on half of my mouth for that one session and was out by 1230pm and was able to use my lunch break for a dental appointment! Price was a little more steep than what my normal dentist charges BUT I knew EVERY single thing the doctor and his assistant were dping at every second because they patiently explained to me all that was going on the whole time. The assistant was SO gentle and caring. They really made my experience kind of wonderful...who LIKES going to the dentist??! Also, they allowed me to do half of my mouth today for the deep cleaning to help me with my costs! read more

This review is long way overdue. Dr. Tran is the WORST dentist that I have EVER come across. He is unprofessional and does not have enough experience to provide necessary dentist duties. He was my dentist for a while and everytime I met with him, he had a poor attitude like he didn't want to be there and would talk to me in a condescending tone. I would ask him questions and he would ignore me or didn't even acknowledge them. He is very rough and caused my mouth to bleed excessively and this has never happened before with my previous dentists. Wish I could give him 0 stars for poor customer service and poor dental service. Also, note that he double books his appointments so that means you're not getting all the due attention and care that you need. I say this cause I noticed Dr. Tran forgot where he was when he came back to work on my teeth again and was fumbling. read more

Dr. Ken has been taking care of my family for years, but I only recently became his patient. He seems like a very honest and kind dentist. My dad refuses to ever go to the dentist, but Dr. Ken is the first dentist my dad finally feels comfortable with, which makes me very happy. I'd have to say that this dentist really works to serve his community. I have many friends going into dentistry who would never work in cities that serve low-income patients. They can easily make more money elsewhere to charge much more. I recently quit my full-time job to return back to school and have no dental insurance. Dr. Ken takes patients without dental coverage at a very reasonable price. He also only recommends procedures that are necessary so that you can save money. I believe I've been coming to this dentist since I was about 9/10 years old today I'm 28 with 4 of my own children that I like to bring to this dentist . I was coming here before Dr Tran broke his back and his son took over. I felt comfortable about his son taking over and still do I don't have a problem with the dentist except that he lets Marco run everything and he's not a doctor and at this point it's becoming disturbing . I wasn't able to take my daughter 1 week ago so her dad takes her and he's not familiar with the office because I'm the one always taking the kids so Marco takes 2 of my daughters to the back told dad he didn't have to go . So my youngest daughter was requesting her dad to come to the back with her and Marco never went to go get him . My oldest daughter who is 12 said she heard her sister asking for her dad . So then Marco determined that she needed to be seen somewhere else instead of letting the dad go back there with her. When I asked can we do it again with me in the room he said no we prefer her to go somewhere else . Mind you i go to this dentist because I love dr trans dad and been there for a long time ! I drive 30-45 mins to this dentist . Me my mom and my kids, I even make referrals but I won't be doing that any more because I don't even want to go up there no more . I go yesterday for a tooth ache they prescribed antibiotics no pain meds I asked for some before I left . I had to take off work due to a head ache . So Marco lol someone who isn't a doctor told me I didn't need any pain meds so I had to sit in urgent care most of my night because he determined I didn't need pain med lol he's not even a doctor and idk if doctor Tran is aware that Marco is making moves like this and if he is aware I'm just not comfortable coming back here no more. They probably don't care about losing people. But I don't think a office worker should make doctor decisions. You can do all the nice fancy stuff to the office but quality work is everything .... Dr trans dad has never had a problem prescribing pain meds when my wisdom teeth swoll up in my mouth or anything. I couldn't of just went to urgent care and got the antibiotics and the pain med but instead I feel like my whole day was waisted fro. 3pm -3am leaving their office to go sit in urgent care because Kaiser took 3 hours for me to talk to a nurse on the phone . But the dentist got paid for my visit yesterday by insurance I'm sure . So like I said I could of just went to urgent care because they didn't do anything but a X-ray which didn't show nothing the doctor had to see the infection so if that was the case next time Marco since he's in charge need to recommend urgent care and not the dentist so we as members won't waist our times read more
