They had bleached the roots a different color and had toned it unevenly. I'm so glad MG hair was able to see me after the other salon had ruined my hair and was lucky enough to get a last minute amount. Eric was so careful and diligent. He made sure not to damage my hair since it had already been bleached by the hair stylist from another salon. All my friends are saying my hair looks like a celebrity's after Eric fixed it. I want to give 5 stars but I also felt misled simply because a good chunk of my length was lost from this and it was not worth the price paid for. It does not sit well with me. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 4 was because the way my ends were cut were chopped off. They weren't trimmed. They were just chopped off. That'd be okay if I weren't charged $400. $400 charge was to maintain my length, but wasn't. UPDATE: Edited mine to 4 stars because I really do love the color. Sam did an amazing job with my color. She's been a great source of knowledge for product and styling techniques for both me and my boyfriend, and she's always responsive when you text her to schedule your appointment. I find it easy enough to walk to her current salon location from porter square (I can park or take the T), and the location is bright, clean, and friendly. The stylist did a mini consult to ask what I wanted and what the occasion was, and I explained my hair is thicker and can be frizzy. She was great and really friendly. They also offered a drink right when I checked in for my appointment. They were a bit pricey for just a 45 min blowout, but the location in union square was really convenient so I'd consider going back.

Sarah was more than knowledgeable when it came to giving me advice on my curly hair. I gave her full control and told her I'd trust whatever she did and that was the best decision! Sarah and everyone in the salon was so welcoming and friendly as soon as I arrived. NEW LOCATION, NEW NAME, SAME GREAT PEOPLE!…read more I've been getting my hair cut here since ~2001 (guy), so of course I followed them to their brand new digs. No longer called "MK Hair Studio", they are now "Studio 3" (because it used to be an event space for the restaurant next door). It is a much bigger, quite attractive salon space now. Easy to find, just look for the giant Julia Child mural on a Monolith out front on the sidewalk of Broad Canal Way, just down from Cafe Luna on the same side of the street. You may see a sidewalk sign on the corner directing you to another business, but that is a barber shop of the other side of the street (don't go there lol!). Your GPS may give the wrong location for the salon, so just remember it is on the first block of Broad Canal Way, just past where it runs into 3rd Street (again, look for Cafe Luna on the corner and then Julia Child). As far as parking, not quite as good a deal as the old OKS location (that was $5 for $35 3 hour parking), they now charge $10 for 4 hours parking which would normally cost at least $32 (I stayed less than 3, so can't confirm the time limit and they didn't seem 100% sure). Which is nice if you also want to get lunch at Shy Bird nearby (excellent fried chicken sandwiches and smash burgers). No chaser tickets now, they validate via computer at the end of your appointment The parking lot is the "350 Kendall Garage", but don't use that in your GPS. Entering 302 Kendall St, Cambridge, MA 02142 in Apple Maps gives me the actual entrance to the spacious underground garage which is behind Studio 3 on the next street over intersecting with 3rd St (so come down 3rd and turn on Kendall St and it will be on your right). You'll then have to walk a couple of blocks to get to Studio 3. There is some confusing construction, so pull a map up on your smartphone. When you enter the garage building on the way out, bypass the ground floor office and put your validated ticket into the machine next to the office and pay by credit card. ***The trick I learned is to remove your credit card very slowly, or it won't take it.***

She makes every appointment feel effortless. Booking is always easy, she's incredibly accommodating, and she consistently makes the experience smooth and enjoyable. Evie itself is a beautiful, calming space in Davis Square, with great parking and lots of places nearby to grab a coffee or walk around after. The whole vibe is warm and welcoming. Getting a haircut can sometimes feel awkward or forced, but Erin creates such a relaxed environment that I always feel at ease.
