I called into Dr Wei office in alot of pain and spoke with Jenny at the front desk and she was the sweetest and incredibly helpful. She gave me great advise on how to manage the pain until Dr Wei could see me and treat my tooth. In the end I needed a root canal and the procedure went very smooth. Question #1 - If I gave you my insurance information 4 days before my appointment, why would I not be informed my consultation was not covered until after I racked-up $195 of uncovered care? Do you even run the insurance ahead of time to ensure patients are aware of their likely financial responsibility before accruing billables? Completely unethical practice to hide the billing until after the initial service is provided! You are tricking your new potential patients. As a disabled veteran on fixed income, I couldn't afford to pay anything more than the co-pay. But you still made sure to bill me almost $200 for a consultation I already received twice from my regular dentist and the ER. I wasted half of my day and $195 I can't afford to spend. I was too shocked, embarrassed and depressed to be angry when I paid. I would have just waited to go to the VA instead, as I stated I have done in the past!!!! Please review this practice or policy. It really is not in the best interest of your patients. It most definitely does us harm. Dr. Wei may be very capable and talented, but I certainly will never give your office an opportunity again. I have to say I was very disappointed in this office. I contacted them to get a price for an x-ray. I was given a price of $130. I made various changes to my work schedule in order to get to the appointment on time. I filled out all the paperwork and the last thing the office manager said was that it would be $250. I told her that I had made notes of the conversation and that we had clearly communicated that the exact price would be $130. She said that she was sorry for the miscommunication, implying that maybe I had misunderstood. The price I had already received from a different office was $150 for this kind of x-ray and a consultation. I mention this because that indicates the price of $130 was totally normal. She explained that $130 was for the consultation, and they wouldn't do the x-ray until I paid for the consultation. I asked to speak with one of the doctors who I never sought again because they were down in the back of the office. She then mentioned that the doctors would not be able to see me today. That is OK, because I would definitely not give my money to a business that is misrepresenting the price of the service that I wanted and then arguing with me over it. If only I had some type of evidence. But wait, there is more. I told her that was not cool at all and left. I did ask for all of my records to be returned for me and was surprised to find her memo in her hand writing in which she wrote that this appointment would be $130 for the type of x-ray that I wanted. I had such a great experience at Dr. Wei's office! I was referred by my General Dentist for a cracked tooth and extreme pain that had been persisting for about a year. Jennie at the front desk is an angel - she was able to squeeze me in a few days later and was extremely accomodating and kind. I ended up, in fact, needing a root canal. Of course, this is not a fun procedure. But Dr. Wei and his dental assistant walked me through everything and took their time to ensure everything was settled, even though my case was very complex. I was referred to Dr. Wei by my dentist. I called and got in the same day for a thorough consultation where I was explained every option and details on the procedure I was having. Two days later had a root canal re do. He was AMAZING !!! I was impressed by his exact step by step explanation on what he was doing and what to expect while it was happening. He was correct on every step. And very caring and concerned for me being comfortable ( I have claustrophobia ) He answered every question I had. Dr. Wei and his staff are amazing! I have such anxiety and had to get a root canal done. My regular dentist tried to numb me for the procedure and after 4 injections, I still wasn't numb enough, so he referred me to Dr. Wei. (I have problems with numbing). Dr. Wei did it, no problem, and didn't even have to use his back-up "special way." He is so kind and caring and does explain everything step-by-step, so you understand what is happening (or he won't, if you don't want him to) every step of the way and you know what to expect. He constantly checked on me throughout. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the whole procedure was such a good experience and went so smoothly, I was so happy! Everyone in the office wore masks, I saw someone wiping down the chair after I was done, they have hand sanitizer and sanitized pens to use to fill out paperwork. They seem to be taking excellent precautions for Covid-19. Dr. Wei explained what do and expect afterward. My insurance covered everything except maybe not his $95 consultation fee. All fees and costs were discussed prior and all questions answered. The office just has a calm feeling, and the room I was in had a pretty view of the sky and trees to help me take my mind off of everything. read more

I'm a new patient (for a root canal) with Dr. Wei last week, and I was extremely happy with his thoughtful attention to my comfort and the way he explained each step as he did it. I suffered with LOTS of pain over a long Labor Day weekend. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I was able to get in by 11am, was NOT pressured into anything I wasn't comfortable with. I'm your person that has had some tough goes and some dentist offices. I wish I had found these professional people a LONG time ago! Considering the pain I was in he made the procedure pretty painless. I've had root canals before, the OTHER dentists want to get you in and out, grind you down while your head is vibrating... NOT HERE. He was SO thorough and explanatory. I'll never get a root canal done by anyone else while this Dr. Is still practicing. She demanded that I give her my ss# because they couldn't submit a claim to my insurance unless they had it. This is not true. I had paperwork showing they had already submitted for it! This is the best dentist/endo I have EVER encountered. He is extremely responsive and ALL about making sure you get out of pain asap. He even stayed late in the day so I wouldn't have to wait until morning. Fastest root canal ever, high tech, no pain, expert I have ever encountered. As for the front desk..... As an insurance agent, I speak their language. If you take the time to understand your benefits and talk to you insurance agent before you incur charges, the front desk should be a walk in the park. Dr. Wei is a very capable and kind endodontist. However, his front office staff does him a great disservice. The office manager is particularly abrasive and limits patients' access to the doctor. She also freely gives her opinion (whether desired or not) on patients' medication, what their access should be to that medication, and what they should be taking instead (she is not a doctor or pharmacist, by the way). We ultimately chose to go with another endodontist, not because Dr. Wei isn't good, but because his office staff is rude and impossible to deal with. read more

What a great experience for a root canal. My older son went here and raved about him. When it was time to take my 15yr. old daughter for a root canal I thought I'd try his office. I had a root canal done about 5 years ago by someone else and a canal was missed and became infected. Dr. Wei explained the X-ray thoroughly and suggested a retreatment. I was a bit nervous about it but I'm glad he did the procedure because it went great! It was a long process but he explained what he was doing during the procedure (totally optional) and it did not hurt one bit. The new X-ray looked way better than the first! I would also like to mention that he IS in network with United Concordia, so for those military families he is your guy! Yes there are other great Endodontists out there, but most are out of network and will cost about $800+. Why pay more when you can go to an endo who is in network AND does a great job =) read more

Dr. Wei was very nice but his office staff was a disappointment. I was told that my portion after insurance would be $328 for my daughters root canal. Weeks after the procedure I received a bill for another $360!! When I called the office to question the charges I was told that there were something about the root being more than 50% percent blocked and that there was no way for them to tell from the X-ray that this would be the case? She informed me that the amount I was quoted was "only an estimate" and that I would be responsible for $360 in additional charges. She said that I should have been aware of that and made the whole thing out to be my fault. Eventually she conceded to some of the blame and said that she should have told me that there could be additional charges and she would try to do better next time (as if that helps me any). The icing on the cake was when she told me that Dr. Wei had told my daughter (who is over 18) while she was in the chair that they had to do more than expected and that there would be additional cost for the blockage and a pulp test? My daughter said no such conversation occurred. Very unpleasant experience. read more

Root canal a breeze! No pain at all. Dr.wei and leslie are both amazing literally are a team batman and Robin lol he literally doesn't have to talk when she already has want he wants which makes the root go fast and easy! Amazing. Maria is great to very funny and explains everything so well. And does inform that its all just an estimate. Idk why people have bad reviews on her. At the end of the day shes just the middle man and doesnt control people's insurance nor the office policy. Shes simply doing her job.
