One of the biggest red flags was being asked to send copies of my DD-214 containing sensitive personal identifiable information directly to a phone number. At no point was it clarified whether this was a secure work device or a personal cellphone. I was never offered a professional email address or secure document portal, which I found highly questionable given the nature of the documents involved. While I complied in an effort to move the process along, I was not comfortable doing so. In my experience, reputable organizations handling veterans' records typically have clear procedures and safeguards in place for transmitting sensitive information. Beyond the privacy concerns, the conversation itself was frustrating and unprofessional. Instead of feeling heard, I felt repeatedly invalidated, challenged, and put on the defensive regarding my own experiences and concerns. The interaction came across as passive-aggressive and unnecessarily contrarian. I also found it inappropriate that examples of other veterans' personal struggles were repeatedly brought into the conversation as comparisons. I contacted the organization for assistance with my own situation, not to hear about or be compared against the hardships of others. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. What should have been a supportive interaction instead felt judgmental and disrespectful. Trust and professionalism are critical when working with vulnerable veterans, and unfortunately I did not experience either here. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to exercise caution when sharing sensitive personal information and to ask questions about how documents are being stored and protected before sending anything. Patrick Sowers is a fucking moron.

I go often so I catch the inventory as it cycles through. The work they do to help veterans get into housing and do repairs is just an added bonus. I arrive at times when the donation truck is being unloaded and have never seen the staff picking out items before they hit the floor as has been mentioned in a prior review. The comment may have been made but having been in the store so often it doesn't not appear to happen. This is one of the best organized and clean stores I visit on my "thrifting" and bargain hunting shopping days. Its a hidden gem that is a great find for people in need of furniture, appliances and home decor. They have some really up scale pieces for a good value!

I took a day to think and I was ready to adopt. Yvette said he was no longer available, however he remained on the website. When I mentioned this she did not respond. I showed up to the adoption event the next week and there he was!! I feel if they truly cared about the animals they would be accommodating and work harder to rehome. Overall, I believe Lost Paws is running a sketchy business. The whole interaction with Yvette was very off putting. My heart breaks for Nacho as I was ready to adopt and give him a great new home and all the love!!

However, he remained on their website. I contacted them again and was ignored. My daughter went to their rescue event at Petsmart that weekend and the dog was there for adoption. My daughter inquired about adopting the dog and she was totally ignored and was never contacted about the adoption. In fact, the owner blocked her. I have no idea what her issue was. I feel if she actually cared about the animals, she would do everything possible to get her dogs adopted. We are dog people. My daughter showed dogs in 4-h. We have always had dogs. It's just crazy how this woman is treating potential customers because we're not her first bad review. It makes me question her motives.

The staff are so patient and kind. The amount of care the animals receive is just indescribable. I'm not an animal woman at all and these horses were gentle, patient and so sweet. I faced my fears and pet a few and I want to go back just to see them lol. The facility is very well-kept and clean considering what it is used for. I recommend taking your children for horse therapy and rehabilitation. If applicable to me I would be one of the first to sign up.

Why do they need volunteers for class? Well, As many as 3 volunteers could surround and support a beginner or riders with more emotional or physical needs by holding them in the saddle, maybe just putting a hand on their leg so they know they are safe, etc.... While maybe 1 volunteer would be used for an experienced rider to simply lead the horse. I can't say enough about this place!
