Definitely hit this place up if you're in Livingston and craving Mexican food. We were debating between this place and another spot down the street based on their reviews and ok glad we chose this one. The only thing i would say is that the queso wasn't as good as I'd hoped. The restaurant has a mid-scale mexican atmosphere with decore and music. It is designed to accommodate large groups, small, bar seating or outdoor dining. The food can not be matched by any of the best mexican restaurants we have dined in through out all of Houston. You will be served hot fresh tortillas here. (not cold out of a package). The food is traditional mexican, fresh, and plentiful. The frozen margaritas are not too sweet or sour, not too frozen, and the tequila is just the right amount not tasting cheap. The chips and salsa were awesome. We ordered queso and it was good. The beef fajitas were mediocre and I feel like they were cutting corners with not having homemade flour/corn tortillas. To be a really good greasy Tex-Mex restaurant in Texas, you have to deliver with fresh homemade tortillas. Overall it was a good experience. They kept our drinks full and were priced well! I work in the same parking lot of the Patron Grill and have been anticipating it's opening since I knew what it would be (I love Mexican food!). The day after it was opened me and a group of workers in the building walked to the restaurant. They put a lot of details into the decorations of this place! The food was amazing and as to be expected there was some hiccups to the service due to it being brand spanking new! I already love this place and prefer it over pueblos! We went back today and the service was still blah! My supervisor said if the food wasn't so Good we would be outta there and I couldn't help but agree! Stop by and support amazing Mexican food! Not the best but not the worst. A little pricey for Mexican food in the middle of nowhere, but I guess when you're one of two Mexican restaurants in town you can charge higher prices. I had the El Sabroso enchiladas dinner. The enchiladas were two long thin chile peppers (maybe anaheim peppers?), that had been roasted/sweated and then stuffed with ground beef. The chile peppers were then rolled in a corn tortilla and topped with chile con carne. The refried beans were good and tasted like they used chorizo grease in preparing them (I say this as a good thing -- as it added a really good flavor). The rice was just typical spanish rice and the chips and salsa were nothing special. They had some karaoke event on their patio the night I was there, and it was rather loud. The choice of songs that people were singing were also kind of in poor taste from a racial standpoint. All-in-all, next time I'm in Livingston, I may very well give this place a try. read more

Quality is falling off. The Mexican Guacamole used to be divine, but now it is mostly lettuce with about half as much avocado (yes, we noticed! Not all of your customers are turistas). We were so disappointed with its lack of avocado and lime -- not so good anymore. We also found a piece of black plastic in our guac last time, which our server promptly threw in the trash and ignored our concern. What?? Servings of beans and rice sides are also skimpy now. Patron's, you're slacking and we all noticed. It's a short trip up or down the road to another Mexican restaurant in town if things don't improve. read more

I was very excited to visit Livingston and read this was a great place for food. Unfortunately we started with the wrong foot. The greeter had a terrible attitude. I asked for a table away from the main walking path. She stated "we do not have any more tables". So I pointed out at 3 tables in the back and two tables in the side that were empty. She made a frutrated face and walked vigorously to seat me at one of those tables. It was clear that these tables were not empty on purpose since all the ones ovupyed were full and next to each other. I confronted her attitude saying she did not have to get mad, I just wanted to be seated at a safer location. Food was average. Food got to me quick. Server was not attentive. Ambiance is as expected. Please train your staff with better customer service. When people go out to eat is mostly a treat. I am paying for great service. read more

We've gone a few times, for the area it's a good place to go. The service is decent and they have come a ways since they first opened. The food is good, when they first opened it seemed better. Not sure if we are use to eating here or they were so busy when they first opened everything was fresher. Good tex mex with a variety of dishes and some seafood dishes too. read more

11/14/20 1:00 We were going to eat outside, but it was packed so we ordered takeout and hung out in the parking lot, so we cannot comment on the service. One of the waiters brought the food out to us, too. Don't know if that's standard, but certainly appreciated. All the meals were excellent, as was the chips and salsa. Burro Laredo was unique and very good. I was going to save part for tomorrow's lunch but alas, before I knew it, it was all gone! Quesadillas were good as was the Los Amigos. Don't recommend going to the bar for a drink before dinner. with friends, we all ordered top shelf Rita's and when our second round arrived (long wait for a table) we moved from the bar to the table thinking our newly prepared drinks would follow us. not so much. turns out they will dump your drink instead of taking it to the table? I'm certain that we requested the drinks be served at the table however when the bill came all drinks were charged even the ones the "short little manager wanna-be guy" had the bartender "dump" when our table was ready. he cited "Corporate Policy" precluded them from transferring the Bar served cocktails to the restaurant table. never heard of this before....feeling a little ripped off. read more

Living in Houston there are So Many Mexican food places to pick from and we have been to many. On our way home from camping, we stopped in this little place. It was so good! The service here was 5 Star!!! We had a party of 15 and the server didn't miss a beat. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our cups were never empty and our food came out pretty quick with no errors on anyones order. The food was better than average and the prices were fair. They have a lunch menu that has specials 7 days a week. So you can get a $7 fajita plate on the weekend during lunch hours. The atmosphere wasn't fancy. There's lots of room, so seating is quick. No one at our table had anything bad to say about our visit here. Overall great experience. read more

Closedt thing to real Mexican food in Livingston. The food taste s really good. It is also presented well. Alcohol is great. Generous portions, mixed well. When the sift serve machine works tgey have free ice cream. Fajitas are mainly onions. I would guess thy are about 70% onions, 10%-other items, and 20% meat. Very good, but unless you enjoy tortilla wrapped onions, you will be disappointed. Combinations are smaller than other local mexican restaurants and priced about the same. Las Casitas around the corner has a 4 item combo for 8.99. The best you can do here is get the 3 item senorita plate for 8.99 and order a tosada for 3.75. That's grtting expensive compared to other local resteraunts. So if you are wanting something close to real Mexican food, this is your place. If your looking for TexMex combinations with good variety, you are going to be disappointed. read more

UPDATE: we had to go back again before we left Livingston and I must say the food and service was as good as the first time! This mexican resturant could do well in any much larger city and Livingston is fortunate to have it. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Go here and enjoy the food and atmosphere. We love it! After spending the summer in Michigan, it was nice to have some decent Mexican food in Livingston. The chips were warm, crispy, and complementary. salsa was good but it was served warm and I'm not sure I care for it that way. There was also a creamy Quac kind of dip. It was happy hour so we both tried the large Margaritas. Very flavorful and they put some tequila in them! I had a second one just to be sure it was that good! DW had the appetizer sampler and was very pleased with the quality, taste and quantity of the food. She needed a go box! I had the chicken poblano fajitas and was really impressed! Everything had a nice char that complimented the seasonings and it was served on a 9000 degree platter! Very good! And the service was spot on and friendly. Stay away from the pork. OMGosh I've spent the last 3 days getting acquainted with my bathroom. Not fun. Then I just talked to my friend and he spent the last few days reading in his bathroom. (We both had pork there). I'm totally baffled by this place being busy all the time. Do these people have no clue and taste for decent food? Staff always rushes to get your plates to you quickly but try to get chips refilled or more salsa! Good luck. Very bland food and mostly bad service. If you like spicy bring your own salsa and spices. Not a fan for Tex-Mex anyway but this place is a total turn off for me. I am torn, because my two favorite foods, stuffed jalapeños and queso con chorizo, were pretty bad and nonexistent, respectively. But everything else was amazing! My boyfriend and I both noted that every meat was cooked perfectly. The steak and chicken in our fajitas were both incredible, so tender and juicy. The shrimp were huge, split and seasoned fantastically. So tasty! If it was made of meat, these people knew how to cook it. The guacamole and salsa were both good- on the upper end of what you'd get at a similar restaurant. The stuffed jalapeños were pretty plain, coated in breading, the filling seemed to be just plain cream cheese, nothing else. They tasted like they were bought frozen and just deep fried. Please improve on these! Wrap them in bacon! Put something else in the cream cheese filling! Please! Your steak and shrimp were so good, I want to get takeout every night from you guys, but momma gotsta have her stuffed jalapeños!!! For real, if you improve those, I'll Up my score to a 5 and pressure all my friends to give you 5s as well. You're so close. If you had good stuffed jalapeños you would be perfect. read more
