I took a 2-week vacation out of the U.S. 7/14-26 2024! Making clear plans for my female GSD of 9 months needing continuous energized play/training. I decided on patsk9.com as he was the closest to where I live. I dropped GSD off on Friday 7/12th returning Friday 7/26 2024. The lines of communications open throughout. The first two days I didn't hear anything from PAT as to training and how she was doing. 1st 2days PAT "stated she would run to her kennel and preferred to stay there". THAT DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME AT ALL . According to Pat this behavior continued and was disturbing to me. I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY HE STATED HE WAS A PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER BUT HE COULDN'T COMMUNICATE WITH MY FEMALE 9-MONTH-OLD GSD Before my return there was no training or videos completed. Pat suggested I leave her longer with him. I informed him on 7/30 Yalla is scheduled for surgery and then she will need 14 days or so to recuperate. 7/26 I decided to let Pat resume training as I had already paid for that service on July 12. Pat came to my home and picked Yalla up! NOTE! AS I WATCHED THE EXCHANGE BETWEEN YALLA AND PAT! SHE WAS BARKING PROFUSELY AND Acted AS IF SHE'S NEVER MET HIM BEFORE. I figured everybody deserves the benefit of the doubt 'AND I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR A SERVICE THAT I CLEARLY DIDN'T GET THE 2 WEEKS in JULY. I don't know why I thought this time would work when 2-weeks didn't. Pat had Yalla from 8-26-31st! The first 3-days I heard nothing from him. By WEDNESDAY mid-afternoon I communicated with PAT through text and he confirmed 'HE WOULD SEND ME TRAINING VIDEOS AND HE WOULD WORK TO GET HER '. This never happened and I had no faith in Pat at this point. I decided to pick Yalla up on Saturday 8/31 partially unannounced let's say 5:30 pm give or take. Note! I did attempt a phone call to let Pat know I was coming, he did not answer but returned my call while I was driving. What happened when I pulled up was a disaster on every unprofessional level. Pat brought my dog out she was all over the place she was out of control, (PANTING) deliriously. Right away I understood the problem. It was very clear she was kenneled for a long period of time without access to water. I noticed right away she started peeing and there was blood in her pee (next day vet appt showed to be UTI/Dehydration). I could not address this with Patsk9.com because he went full-blown COMMANDO/DEFENSIVE MODE right out of the gate! Accusing me of CHOKING MY DOG . It was really bad between him and his brother they were very disrespectful, yelling/cursing attacking me. WHAT I SAW WAS complete GUILT about something that I knew nothing about. Pat/his brother were belligerent with their words/actions towards me. I had to quickly get my camera and record all this unfortunate situation. It was bad . Once I was able to take control of the situation I got water for Yalla, I put shoes on her and moved forward. My dog was so thirsty it appeared as if she hadn't had water all day and If she was crated for a long period of time. YALLA was ravished for water as if it hadn't been given to her throughout the day freely. She was so anxious to have more scratching the bowl as if she hadn't had water all day. SHE HAD THREE DOGGY BOWLS FULL AND WE HAD TO STOP THERE BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT HER TO START VOMITING. I will never recommend Patsk9.com to anyone. I had to request videos of training which I did not get. Training my dog never happened. I provided special dog food for her stay, apparently he neglected to feed her the food. The bin that I provided was still full to the reem. Thank God I am a firm believer in the power of God! He spoke to me and didn't give me a moment of rest until I went to pick Yalla up. THE SITUATION ON PICKUP WAS VERY UNFORTUNATE! Pat played his hand showing no regard for Yalla and I saw the devil and it was a nightmare. Yalla was trying to get away from him, it was sad to see her this way and to know there was some clear neglect. Don't Trust this company with your dog! read more

If I could give Pat and his business 10 stars I would!! I found Pat through a basic Google search and shot him a message asking about his services. He said "regardless of if you do business with me, here are some tips to help with your puppy." You don't come by that level of genuine care very often! I put both of my puppies through Pat's two week board and train--a Doberman and a Dutch Shepherd. Both pups are completely polar opposite in personalities, strengths and needs and Pat was able to train them both. Besides learning the basic sit, stay, heel, and come, my pups had the opportunity to socialize with other dogs and people in a safe environment. Having puppies be socialized in a safe setting with Pat's child, family, and personal/client dogs was such a blessing!! Finally, any time I have concerns, questions or want to share training successes, all I do is send Pat a text and I always get a response. Patrick O'Hearn of Pat's K9 Training, LLC is one of the most expert and professional trainers I have ever worked with. I met Pat back in 2021 through a military friend, who knew that I, as a former k9 handler in the US Army, was looking for a k9 of my own on the civilian side. From Day One, Patrick was very honest, professional, driven and dedicated to help me find the perfect Belgian Malinois. After a Malinois was turned in to him for a rehome, Patrick worked with her faults and trained her up to be the perfect, off leash, driven K9. I was so impressed with the work Patrick did with her, that I wound up rescuing 2 more Working Dogs (Malinois and a GSD/Malinois Mix) for myself personally. Patrick loves dogs so much, that be dedicates extensive hours to perfecting their obedience and trust. At least one of my dogs (a male Malinois) was said to be 'aggressive' so he was turned into Pat as a surrender. After working with Pat, Pat turned my male Malinois life around and he now has an amazing home. Patrick has never not been there for me if I ever had a question, especially since I had always owned Shepherds. I had worked with Malinois via a PD and the Military, but never did I have one. I was so impressed with how Pat works with these working dogs and other breeds, Pat and I worked together to help rehome 4 other K9s in addition to my 3. And I can tell you this - they are all extremely happy in their new lives. One is now a working k9 with a PD in Northern PA, the other with the DEA and the third is getting ready to compete for his first official Obedience Title with the AKC. I wish I lived in Arizona, because if I did - I would board my dogs there without hesitation. I trust Patrick more than anyone else with my dogs. My female Mal is getting ready to get her civilian Narcotics Detection Certification, my male Malinois is now into Dock Diving (and is amazing with people, btw) and my female Shepherd/Malinois mix is ready to compete in her first official Schutzhund (IPO) trial. We put our dog Holly in the board and train program with Pat. She completed it and we picked her up last week. Let me just say wow! Pat did an amazing job with our Holly. Pat was so attentive and got back to every text I would send checking on Holly, we could tell he cares alot about the dogs well being. He got rid of all her bad habits in the home and showed her to walk correctly with a leash and even no leash! Sent 2 of our dogs to board and train here specifically to work on problem behaviors. We were never advised that the expectation of this "training" is that our dogs will be in e-collars during all waking hours so we can "correct" them. They taught the dogs to walk at a heel and to sit. Our dogs already knew how to sit and walking at a heel was not a priority for us. They did not address any of the problem behaviors, despite being advised that those would be addressed. On pickup when we asked about them, they just told us "oh just use the collars to buzz them for a correction." We definitely could have ordered ecollars ourselves for less than $3000, that's for sure. We don't want our dogs living in ecollars and it is impractical to have 2 remotes in hand at all times for quick behavior corrections, which is why we looked for a board and train for help with things we were not equipped to deal with on our own. Very disappointed and feel like we wasted a ton of money that we now no longer have to invest in training that will actually work. But hey, our dogs can heel now. As long as they have on their ecollars and aren't in a distracting space, that is. read more

My wife and I chose to adopt a Doberman with a sketchy past. She went through Pat's 2 week training course and all I can say is "WOW" Today was the first morning she's been with us and I was able to take her for a morning walk without a leash. She is well behaved, obedient, and followed all commands given. Even with other dogs passing by, sounds of barking and construction, she kept her composure and stayed by my side. I have never paid for a trainer before. My wife kept hearing recommendations from co-workers, so we took Nala (our Weimaraner) to Pat's. Amazing. Pat was referred to me by a gentleman with a service dog. I took my Blue Pit to Pat for training. He was an awesome dog, but he didn't realize how strong he was. He liked to play tug of war with his leash and run after every leaf and piece of paper that blew across the ground.
