Want an authentic gyro? This is the place. You can't go wrong with the combo. I opted for no onions. The tzatziki is delicious! Pat has been around for years and I'm so grateful.

    The small kitchen. Magic central?

I love local. I love hole in the wall places. Friends who have lived here a long time recommended it. A small seating area greets you and then you order at the counter. Friendly staff and the food came out quickly and hot. The food was a good portion and tasty. Small storefront....big taste and value. #kodiak_kuisine @kodiak_kuisine @yelpmiami @yelp #yelpmiami #yelpbrevard @yelpbrevard

Burnt the bottom of the bread so bad it crumbled

I have eaten here before. First time I had a bad Gyro. Was drowning in sauce, bread was burnt on the bottom. Guess it all depends on who is cooking the food. Still not a bad place to grab a quick bite, however if just the kids are there better to wait for the adults to be there.

Pat's Place - Melbourne Beachside - 1 Star. Fraud by any other name is.......well......fraud. There is no reason to engage in disingenuous behavior when you can only fool some of the people all of the time. I stopped here to get some "authentic" Greek food. I truly love Greek food. In fact there are two real Greeks within 2 miles of Pat's. Sadly, this Pat is named Patricia or who even knows because the fetid stench of her lies is layered so deep, I think she may have even lied about that. I asked about the gyro. She said it was fresh cut. I said if so, where is the spit? She replied, well the health department frowns on them, so she cuts it in the back to order. I immediately felt red flags in my stomach but I figured hey, it will be blatantly obvious if she is lying. She went on and on about how fresh her food is. I decided to add an order of "home cooked" Spanakopita. When the food arrived I tasted the spanakopita. It was flaccid, refrigerator burned spinach that tasted so bad I had to spit it out. It seemed like it had been sitting in the fridge for weeks and I was the fly finally caught in the spider's web. Now, for the big moment. I bit into the gyro and knew Pat was a liar. You can see from the attached photo, this gyro meat is the frozen pre-cut slices sold by Sysco and Cheney Brothers. To my surprise, when confronted with the discrepancy, Pat began a tale I have heard from many a sociopath. Ohhhhh I am not lying, it's you who is mistaken. This was a low rent version of the cook up the street who tried to convince me a sirloin breakfast steak was filet. The difference is, instead of threatening to kill me, "Pat" took the manipulative approach. Far be it from me, I went to two different Greek restaurants and showed them the photo. At the first restaurant the owner chuckled when I showed him the photo. He said that's frozen strips of gyro. He asked where I got it. I refused to tell him. The same line ended the same at the second restaurant, except that there was an owner of a third restaurant who also confirmed the pre-frozen, pre-sliced nature of the gyro. So the Big Boy says avoid the lying liar at Pats and go to an authentic Greek restaurant if you want real gyro because the food here in my humble opinion is disgusting.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more It is only fitting that I check out another breakfast/brunch place with the iconic American breakfast staple "biscuit" mentioned in their name. As for such locales within the Space Coast, this is the third one (off the top of my head) I have had the pleasure to dine in, right after "Oh" and "Twisted." So was Grumpy's Biscuits (which I will shorthand simply to Grumpy's for the remainder of this review) just another fine establishment to add to other fine breakfast estabishments here on the coast that shoots off rockets, or did they standout. I am happy to review that Grumpy's has enough subtlety to standout without smashing the competition. That is something I admire because I prefer options within harmony, Competition amongst competitors to improve one's self. Even though an address is provided, Grumpy's is located on Highland Ave., just north of the westbound part of Eau Gallie Blvd. within the EGAD. If it helps, it is right across the street from the EGAD Civic Center. First and foremost, the building Grumpy's is located in is an iconic landmard within the EGAD. Grumpy's shares the building with other businesses in which they occupy the southernmost business space, which is quite small with a small indoor eating area and a small outdoor patio with each table having individual umbrellas for shade or rain cover. It fits as Grumpy's is said in two phrases: "simple and trendy" and "cozy." The workers and owner are friendly and hospitable, and they assisted me in deciding on what to eat, which they have given each of their biscuits/sandwiches/etc. a female name. I chose "Lisa," a breakfast biscuit consisting of bacon, over easy egg, smoked gouda, mixed greens, and housemade balsamic glaze. Couple of notes about this amazing biscuit, the bacon were thick cut and candied. Truly amazing. And the balsamic glaze. Whatever their recipe is, it is amazing. I could definitely have that on many a meal. Yes, I know exactly how I wrote that! As for the coffee, I got an iced coffee which is premade and ready-to-serve. They use half-and-half and stevia in the raw. Ergo, the coffee was what I wanted. Finally, the restroom. Take note the "water closet" is outside in the hallway. Since the restaurant is small, it is a single-server. Fortunately, it was stocked and clean. There was also an "ambiance" of class, which is nice given the fact the restaurant is... well... small... and the restroom is probably shared with the other businesses, too. Ultimately, Grumpy's was an amazing initial visit and I look forward to visiting them again. Since this is the first and only time (so far) I have been here, I will give them four out of five stars. After a couple more visits, if they stay consistent, I will add their fifth star for consistency.

Now to be fair it was a to-go order so when I got to work it wasn't as fresh maybe as it should. Biscuit was good sized and tasty, a bit dry, sausage was very tasty and egg was half an omelette....not sure if there was cheese on it, maybe in the egg omelette and I just didn't see it or taste it. I would try it again, next time maybe add butter to the biscuit, a little less egg and cheese that is melted somewhere on it.

When I explained what I needed, she kindly helped me transition from phone conversation to an in person chat. I was fortunate enough to walk into this awesome bagel shop and not only fulfill the order but feel the stress melt away thanks to what is easily the best customer service I've gotten all year The bagels themselves were delicious and assorted ranging from Plane to raisin to blueberry varying kinds of melted cheeses and quality ingredients on the everything and everything asiago. Jerrica and Aaliyah greeted me and that everything I needed to purchase with exceeded expectations. It felt that they genuinely cared and were personable and amicable. This is the kind of customer service that keeps you coming back to support the business versus handing your money over to something random and faceless. The shop itself has a lot of personality and I love that. There's a lot of seating room and even first thing in the morning it's buzzing with energy with a welcoming feel that lets you know. People are choosing this place without hesitation at an early hour for a reason. I genuinely love Beachside Bagel World. I love the food. I love the service. I love the people there. I will undoubtedly be coming back and updating you all on more of the delicious menu options. This place has to offer. Don't think twice and come on in

Banana River Cafe is proof that the smell of bacon can make you forgive almost anything…read more First, a fun fact: they're operated by a CIA graduate. No, not that CIA. The Culinary Institute of America. Our daughter actually graduated from their Baking & Pastry program in San Antonio, so we were already inclined to give the place a try. But I digress. The moment you walk in, the smell of bacon smacks you right in the face. In the best possible way. So. Dang. Good. We stopped in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The dining room was hopping. A few tables could have been bussed a little quicker, my chair needed a quick swipe-down before I sat, and there were a few chips hanging out on the floor. Normally I'd notice those things more, but then the bacon smell hit again and suddenly none of it seemed quite as important. I ordered two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sliced tomatoes (instead of potatoes), and a biscuit. I chose the biscuit over toast or an English muffin with absolutely no intention of eating it. My plan was to take it home for one of the kids. Then I took one bite. Friends, this was THE best biscuit I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don't throw around statements like that lightly. If you visit Banana River Cafe and order absolutely nothing else, order the biscuits. They deserve their own Yelp page. My husband got what I think was called the Power Bowl--a delicious-looking pile of rice, beans, carnitas, and all the ingredients that make a great burrito bowl. Our son absolutely housed his French toast. Our daughter ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad Wrap with pasta salad. I sampled the chicken salad. It had a whisper of rosemary. A polite suggestion of rosemary. A rosemary cameo appearance. If you're going to call it Rosemary Chicken Salad, I'd personally vote for a little more rosemary. My daughter loved it, though. She also loved the pasta salad but wasn't a fan of the Parmesan sprinkled on top. If Parmesan must be involved, let's keep it to the kind that comes from a block and not the green plastic shaker. Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.
