We all had different meals and each one was delicious. I had Luigi and Claims. Wow! It's the best I've ever eaten. It's better than Bobby V's Italian Restaurant in Las Vegas which was amazing. Years ago we went to the Italian restaurant where Ciaos sits on the corner of US 1& Eau Gallie. Food was OK, but it was so dirty the carpet was filthy, so we never returned. We noticed it had new owners, reviews had been good, seemed like remodeling had been done. Place deserved a second chance. We were So Glad we went! Came in, first thing we noticed was the fresh hot loaves of bread cooling from the oven. My husband loves good fresh bread, So he was already sold. We did not sit in the main diningroom which has been redone, carpet & floors were all very clean. Now its a bright friendly atmosphere, we were greeted by the owner, welcomed to our dining experience. Our server was very pleasant and suggested the calamari to start. A very generous portion, tender rings, not overcooked & rubbery like we have had at other places. Wine was a good pour. Our salads that came with our entree were huge fresh & crisp, loved the house Italian dressing. Those bread loaves we first saw, We had 4 delicious hot bread sticks served to our table. So delicious we chose to order a second basket, which was not part of our order, but So worth the small up charge. I went with the eggplant parm, my husband the chicken parm, both came with a big portion of pasta with sauce. His chicken parm nearly took up the entire plate, My eggplant, 6 slices!! We got to go boxes, and had another dinner & a lunch as well! The desserts sounded amazing, but will have to wait till we come back & split a pizza. The ones we saw being delivered looked really good! As we were leaving the owner thanked us for coming and gave us coupons for our next visit. I've lived here forever and never tried Ciao before. Big mistake! The food was absolutely wonderful, the owner, Pano, is fantastic. He greeted us at the door, constantly checked on us, and made sure we enjoyed everything. I had the chicken parmigiana (which took up most of the plate) and comes with a side of pasta. AMAZING!! Hubby had the Stromboli and said it's the best he's had! Added plus was the decor, very Italian and just perfect. This is now in our list of favorites. We will definitely be frequent diners, as well as carry out pizza. Promise to take pictures next time. read more

The fettuccine alfredo was great but our food took an hour to come out for two people. The table behind us had arrived 20 minutes after us and got their food over 30 minutes before we did, and they got almost the exact same order but with one dish different. What a not-hidden gem of Brevard County. If you're looking for an intimate quiet atmosphere with outstanding food AND service this is your place. I ordered calamari and a calzone. The calamari was cooked to pure delicious perfection. Rarely do you find a breading so light and the squid not rubbery. The calzone was a salivating experience. The bread was baked to perfection light and fluffy yet the perfect crust, mouthwatering really. The veggies were all fresh. The marinara is slow cooked and blended exceptionally. Did I mention the bread?!? I would seriously pay to work there for a day just to learn how to make such perfect pizza/calzone dough!!! I was greeted by the owner, maybe? My husband and I were visiting Melbourne and had researched restaurants to have dinner and this place got really good reviews so we decided to give it a shot and we were SOOOO glad we did!!! Everything was great. We were quickly greeted by the owner who sat us at a cozy corner table. Our waitress started us off with lovely, crispy garlic bread. We ordered an app off the specials menu, Rice Balls (arancini) and they were very good (risotto cooked perfectly and delicious red sauce). We both had entrees so had a choice of soup or salad. We both chose the caesar salad which was excellent. Fresh, crisp lettuce, lots of parmesan cheese and nice croutons. I then enjoyed the chicken piccata with linguine. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the sauce had just the right amount of lemon tang, and a perfect amount of capers. My husband had the chicken parm with linguine which he said was also delicious. The waitress was very attentive and the owner checked in at our table each time we were served to see if everything was OK. We also enjoyed the ambience...casual, laid back feel with Italian songs playing while we ate, and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Only regret was that we were so full we had no room for dessert and I've heard they also have very good cannolis. Will definitely return again if we are ever in the area. read more

A friend (Duke) recommended Ciao some months ago and I finally went. Ciao offers the standard Italian fare we've become used to in America (lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, zeppole, etc.) at very palatable prices. It also has a warm "neighborhood trattoria" atmosphere. I ordered takeout, however, had I realized it had such a cozy ambiance I would have eaten in. I ordered eggplant fries, a house salad, a Greek salad and their signature pasta "Ciao". The eggplant fries and marinara sauce were really good (probably not the best for takeout but I popped them in my air fryer for 10 minutes and they were perfect), the salads were cold and crisp and the "piece de resistance" -- the "Ciao sauce" -- was superb. I LOVE Gorgonzola sauce but if it's not done well it can be heavy and overpower other ingredients. Well, this sauce was perfectly balanced so the Gorgonzola, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach shared the spotlight quite deliciously. I'll certainly be there again soon! When Ciao Italian Grill first opened in the old San Remo location, they offered a mix of Greek and Italian food, which was horrendous. I discovered this a month after their opening. However, I chose not to review them at that time, in order to give them some time to improve. Fast forward a year, and they have made the decision to focus solely on Italian cuisine, shedding their multiple personality disorder (kudos to them). Our waiter today is a young man named LJ, who is incredibly quick, efficient, and professional. LJ is certain to make the 3Q best service list. I asked LJ for an order of their Fettuccine Alfredo, which, I have heard, cannot be ordered in Italy as it does not exist there. I also ordered my Italian barometer dish, Veal Piccata. While waiting for the food, I took a look around the restaurant and I must mention that I like what they have done with the place. It has the typical checkered tablecloth found in every "family" Italian restaurant, but it does not detract from the rest of the pleasant, inviting, and open decor. LJ soon returned with our food, so I took a few pictures and started eating. First up on my discerning palate was the Fettuccine Alfredo. The fettuccine itself was cooked perfectly al dente and there was plenty of sauce, but it lacked the explosive flavor that is usually found in Alfredo sauce. I couldn't quite pinpoint what was missing, perhaps a pinch of nutmeg? Maybe not enough cream? Regardless, it was tasty, just missing that extra something. Next, I turned my attention to the Veal Piccata, which I sampled with the pasta. Like the previous dish, the pasta was cooked perfectly, but that's where the expertise seemed to end. The veal was slightly overcooked and the sauce lacked the usual "zing" that one expects from Piccata. Ciao went from a potential disaster to being slightly above your average American-Italian restaurant. With the abundance of Italian places in the area, this is as far as Ciao is going to rise, at least for now. When I was a boy we used to fly from LA to Orlando for summer vacation. My uncle used to pick us up from the airport and take the long drive down 192 to Melbourne. From time to time we went out to eat and I remember San Remo from my very early youth. I remember it was pretty good back in the day but when we moved to Florida in 2007 it was pretty disappointing. We went once and never returned. Recently the space has been taken over by new owners, refurbished, and renamed Ciao Italian Grill. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated upon arrival. Our drink order was taken and delivered promptly. For dinner I ordered a ceasar salad, lasagna, and tiramisu. Niki ordered a house salad, and fiocchetti di fromaggio. Our salads came pretty quickly and mine was OK. Pretty much a quickly tossed together ceasar. My lasagna followed and boy was it tasty. Filled with tasty layers of pasta, sauce, cheese, and meat. It resembles more the Italian American style lasagna I make at home. Impressive. Nikis pasta dish was especially interesting. A sort of ravioli stuffed with gargonzola and pear then topped with bacon and cream sauce. It is her new favorite and I tasted it and I can confirm it is delicious. The tiramisu was very appealing to the eye. It was light, fluffy, espresso, whipped cream goodness. A fantastic end to a enjoyable meal. read more

4.9 stars. Last night was my first visit to Ciao Italian Grill. Occasionally went to their predecessor but it is a bit out of my way. However, I always am looking for that perfect pizza and/or Italian menu so I made the trek with my 40-something daughter. I am 100% of Italian heritage, both sides all the way back to northern Italy and grew up in a pizzeria / Italian restaurant just outside Boston so I think I have a good handle on what Italian food should or should not be. There are, in my opinion, two types of Italian restaurants: those that cook for the American pallet ( i.e. Olive Garden) and those that cook for the Italian pallet. While I have only eaten there once and between us we only tried 2 main items, I think they are aiming at the Italian Pallet. So ..... Service: A+. Seated quickly. Waitress was more than attentive and helpful. Ticket times: A. Wine we asked for came almost immediately. House chianti was very good. Appetizer came in under 10 minutes followed by the main course, at our request, about 10 minutes after that. I hate it when the appetizer is followed by the salad in but a few minutes and then by the main course too soon. I want to enjoy ... savor ... each item without being rushed into the next course. Portion Sizes: A. Generous. Salads: A. Bountiful and with a great selection ... not just greens, tomatoes and onion. Bread: C. Nothing special. Bruschetta appetizer. A+. Four good size toasts, fairly damp and generously dressed. Daughter had meat ravioli. Her rank of it was A. Large portions, good flavor and sauce was very good. I had veal Marsala: B. While the portions were generous, it lacked that "zing" Don't get me wrong ... it was good but it just could have used a bit more flavor. Limoncello dessert: A++ !! I would honestly say it is the second best limoncello dessert I have had in Florida, and I have been here since 1978 and have eaten at countless Italian restaurants here. I am really torn here. the first time I went, it was just me. I ordered what I always order to vet a an Italian restaurant: Spaghetti and Meatballs. It was excellent, the bread was excellent. The service was good. I would have given 4 or 5 stars. So why 3 stars? The second time, a Friday night, with a party of three, it was much different. Service was abysmal. I know post-Covid its hard to find people, but you can't have a large packed restaurant being served by two waitresses. It just does not work. What a great lunch. Becky was our amazing, friendly and knowledgeable server. Her recommendations were delicious. The French version of cola was delicious and a tasty change from our usual drinks. I can't review their pizza because we did not order any. As far as the Italian food is conserved we had three entrees. The Chicken Parm is a chicken cutlet that tasted like chewy over seasoned nothing. The angel hair pasta tasted like it was cooked in three day old water. One of my son's ordered spaghetti and meatballs. My other son ordered the chicken piccata. I tried to eat some of my food thinking it was just me or my meal. I then noticed that neither of my sons ate more then two bites of their meal. It was not me. They both said it was not good. Very disappointed. Never again. After all of the food was cleared from the table and the server asked if it was OK I said It was not what I expected. I then received an excuse that the cook is tired and gave me the $80 bill. Food 4/5 - Started with garlic bread, crisp, perfect balance of garlic, butter and light seasoning. Worth having if you like garlic bread. **ME** Spanakopita - (5/5) amazing! Light flaky crust, fresh ingredients with the spinach. Definitely recommend. **OTHER PARTY MEMBERS** Side order of 2 meatballs - (4/5) good, moist, and flavorful, a bit smaller than a tennis ball. Ravioli with bolonegse sauce - (4/5) good, fresh (this person mentioned they would rather have ordered spanakopita after having a bite) Lasagna - (2/5) good but have had better Ravioli - (4/5) good, nice and fresh, no complaints. Gyro and fries - (4/5) Gyro was really good, fresh ingredients, fries were generic frozen type, but served fresh from the kitchen. Pepperoni pizza slice - (3/5) was ok, sauce on pizza was possibly the same as the sauce in lasagna. Tiramisu - (4/5) all the flavors and consistency you would expect in a tiramisu, slightly creamier. Atmosphere/Clean 4/5 - the building is older, aged, and worn in, but well kept and clean, bathrooms too. Entire restaurant seating area is semi divided in half by a wall with a large open door frame. I brought my family in for dinner while they were visiting up north. I usually bring friends and family when they visit because the food is good and service is great. Until this past Saturday. Our server was a little overwhelmed with something things, which is fine. It happens. What I found absolutely appalling was that when he asked for help from another server, who I can only assume was a manager of some sort, she started yelling at him and berating him on the floor. Our sever also admitted that they handed out the wrong check and would be responsible for paying the difference and her response was "That's not my problem." Totally unacceptable. She was telling him how tired she was on having to help him. Yelling about how she's always the one who has to clean up the messes etc. I don't know her name, but she was older with grey hair. I assume she wears glasses because she also was complaining that she lost them. I won't be back and I won't be recommending this place to others when they come visit and are looking for good Italian food. Which is a shame, because I really enjoyed coming. Never again. read more
