Came here in a busy Saturday in June and was expecting more from the reviews. We all agreed that overall everything was fairly dry. The cornbread, the pulled pork sandwich, the 6 piece hot wings, and the ribs were all very subpar. There were. A few pieces of ribs that I thought were okay, but the rest needed a lot of help. I really enjoyed their ribs and the various bbq sauces they had, I could have skipped the pulled pork though. I stopped by at a really busy time and they got food out within 10 minutes so I consider it a win. Their fries are seasoned well and fried to a crispy perfection that makes them perfect for dipping into the sauces. You can get 2 different types of sauce so it's nice to try more than 1. Overall this is a decent little shop in the market and a good place to buy bottled sauces. read more

I'm kind of surprised Pat's in the Milwaukee Public Market has so few reviews, but then again, I've visited a few times in the past few months and am just now reviewing! In the former Soup Market stall location, Pat's is a great addition to the Market. Their rib tips are not to be missed, and their pulled pork sandwich is also great! You get to choose from a variety of sauce choices, which are clearly described behind the register. Service is friendly! Pat's has a few counter/stool options if you want to belly up to the "Bar"-BQ! It's an attractive bustling little spot and I hope they're here for years to come! read more

Oh no. As a Texan this is not bbq. I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was the worst I've ever had in my life. Dry and no flavor. The meat was bland and taste like it was reheated in the microwave 100 times. Even the bbq sauce couldn't save it. If you're a tourist you'll be okay but REAL bbq ppl "hell no". Dude. This place is so good you can smell it from a block away. Tucked into the market place Pat's is a home run for BBQ. I had to do a quick look to make sure I was in Wisconsin and not in the south. It's legit. The 4 stars is because of the brisket, it's good, but I'll get into it in a bit. I got the 2 meat basket which was a good portion. I selected the ribs (of course) and the brisket at their suggestion. I grabbed the beans and coleslaw for my side. I also got the Pats house sauce, Memphis mad dawg hot, and the Alisha's special sauce. The ribs. Oh boy. Fall off the bone tender with a deep smoke flavor. I wanted a whole rack as soon as I took my first bite. No sauce needed here but they do compliment the ribs well. The brisket was interesting. I'm not used to brisket being chopped into little pieces more like ground beef. The burnt ends were delicious and the brisket had great flavor but it was dry. I wish they had just sliced it and given it to me like that. I think it may not have dried out and would have been more enjoyable. Instead sauce was mandatory here. Let's talk about the sauces. house sauce is a pass with better options available. Nothing special about it. Memphis mad dawg hot had the right amount of sweet heat. I would stick with this sauce all day! and the Alisha's special sauce was solid as well. Not as good as the mad dawg but a good option and better than the house. The sides were also very good. The beans were rich and flavorful and the coleslaw (not mayo based) had a great tangy flavor. Home run here. Next time I'm getting the ribs and maybe try the sausage. Only grabbed take out from the public market once, but what I ordered was delicious. Got the 6 spareribs and smoked fries. The ribs were a decent portion and worth the $18 price. What was disappointing was the fries. Mediocre and nothing special. Service was meh. The young man who took my order didn't really welcome me or say hello, he just sort of stared at me waiting for me to order. The wait wasn't too bad, but they also didn't have a long line like many other vendors at the market. read more

The wings with the house sauce has always been my go to when I come to Pats at the Milwaukee public market. Today I decided to order the coleslaw for $2.99. I wanted something refreshing while I ate my wings. But once I got my bag and looked at the size of my coleslaw I was flabbergasted! I couldn't believe I paid $2.99+taxes for a small sauce container of coleslaw. For the same price you get a hefty amount of fries as a side from there. If I had know it was going to be this small I would've never order it. They 100% need to put the size on their menu. Instead of leaving us guessing how much we are receiving. read more

We have traveled hours away to visit Pats in the past. Sad to see on Facebook there has been some staffing issues and it was limited to catering only. Every time we visited we would arrive at opening time so we wouldn't risk items being sold out and the phone would be off the hook. I always got the pulled pork and drenched it in brown brown sauce. We love the sauces so much we bought some for home. I also love they had okra which is one of my favorite apps. Hoping they can reopen for regular ordering again soon. Stopped at the MKE Public Market today for a quick lunch. This was my first time trying Pat's Rib Place. We ordered the the pulled Pork sandwich with the Mr. Brown Brown Sauce and the Friday special, Southern Fried Catfish. The catfish came with two pieces of catfish, fries, and coleslaw. The catfish was light, crisp and perfectly fried with great taste and texture. The fries and slaw were good but the headliner on this plate was the catfish. The pulled pork was very good as well, serving the sauce on the side allowed for just the right amount to compliment the meat instead of drowning it like you get at other places. Service was friendly and prompt for a busy Friday lunch rush. Very good counter service lunch spot in downtown MKE. read more

Ribs are outstanding, I had the Alisha's sauce which was sweet and spicy( just the right amount of spice) and my husband had the brown sugar sauce which was also delicious. Fried okra is yummy, get a side of ranch with it! The people behind the counter are all personable and helpful, ask their opinion, they will tell you! I appreciate that. And they appear to be enjoying working there, which says a lot. It is in public market so it's loud, which is fine because you expect it. There are only 4 chairs at the counter and we were fortunate to get 2 of them, but that is the only downfall of this place. Takeout is available . read more

Great food, great service. We ordered the two meat option with sides and choose the 1/2 pd. Pulled pork and the Polish sausage. The pork was wonderfully moist and flavorful, if you wanted to add to that they had sauces you could choose from for dipping. The Polish sausage was pretty great too. Really good BBQ! The best I have had in the Midwest! Atmosphere- the Milwaukee food market, predominately take your food upstairs and eat or to go. Food- the ribs were fantastic, seasoned beautifully and very tender. The pulled pork was also very good and highly recommend. The rib tips were also so good and very tender. The fries were battered like and just different than I'm used to so that was refreshing and the coleslaw was way different than any other coleslaw out there. Honestly it was the best coleslaw I have ever had. The bad- the brisket was not good at all, ended up tossing it was dry and not seasoned well at all. Very unfortunate given the pork meats were done so well. The service- the front of house staff worked very hard and were doing a great job making sure orders were accurate. I applaud them for that. However, they need more customer service training. They seemed annoyed by most customers and I identified as a new customer and the lady up front seemed even more annoyed by that. If a customer tells you they are new it is just good practice to walk them through the menu, highlight top menus items. I promise that will not only help them but also help you because they will take less time to order. Overall: very good food (except for brisket), staff works very hard but need to be more friendly and help customers walk through the menu (assuming someone knows how to order is just poor practice). I would normally take off a star for the service or a poor food item but the staff were working very hard and the other food offerings. were absolutely fantastic and some of the best in the country. read more

Highly recommend Pat's if you need to feed a crowd. I ordered the pulled pork and buns. Everyone raved how good the meat was. I also got a jar of the mild sauce in hopes of pleasing everyone and the sauce did not disappoint. Can't wait to go in for lunch and try some of the other menu items. read more

A very unexpected surprise! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We had the brisket on a sandwich and simply on a plate. It was full of smoky flavor, juicy and tender. Try the smoky fries! They did not disappoint. The owner spoke with us for a while, telling us the story of Pat's. It doesn't get better than this. Highly recommend!! read more

I have loved and followed Pat's Ribs for years, and wish Alisha nothing but the absolute best moving forward as they close this location at the end of July 2024. There is nothing but wonderful things to say about everything they do. The bread Pudding has always been a religious experience as has the sauces and the meat. Whether its the Rib Tips, the brisket, the ribs or the pork shoulder, Pat's will always be my favorite in SE Wisconsin. And the Okra...where can i find fried okra like that? The sauces and rub will still be available, but those magic smokers they own are worthy of presidential medals of freedom! While I always favored the homey atmosphere of the old store, I loved popping a squat on the bar stools at the Market or taking my dinner outside if weather permitted. The Pork/Fry basked at the old Waukesha store was always my lunch favorite for seemingly years. Tonight I dine on Pat's for likely the final time unless we get back in the next couple of days. Best barbecue in town. Definitely a must try. We got 6 spare ribs and we thought they were gonna be small and at first were surprised with the price ($17.99) but they were huge and they even give one or two extra. We have lunch for tomorrow we'll be here often! read more
