Never again for boiled shrimp! Undersized and hard if not impossible to peel. Left with mealy meat I couldn't serve for a party where cocktail shrimp and dip was the main attraction. Very disappointing. Had to go to Costco to get their cocktail shrimp (likely imported) but they were actually much better. So I called on Monday to discuss and to seek an understanding of what went wrong. Management apologized, provided explanations and excuses, suggested I didn't handle them right after I told her I pulled one right when I got home and found it hard to peel but taste was fine so I put the whole bag in the fridge. She offered a refund, but the damage was done for me. Never again! 10/15 count on the label. Priced accordingly. Actual results much less. Truly disappointing. read more

After years of purchasing seafood from Pats, I bought crabs - dozen #1. When I got home and started to eat the crabs were mooshy, I called and the guy pretty much called me a liar, but said he would replace the crabs. A couple of weeks later I called and ordered the dozen I was promised. I asked if they were hot and fresh, he said yes. I picked them up, knowing they were cold I took the crabs anyway. 4/13/2023 Today I picked up 10 lbs of boiled crawfish which was the worst ever from them. They were full of sandy grit and dirty as hell. Looks like they didn't even clean them or the boil water. I have been getting my boiled seafood from Pats for quite a few years now and it was never like this. The boys working there need better training. They could certainly be taught better. I go to the location on hwy 21 because it is closer. Has not been open but about a year or so and is smaller but otherwise the same. The seafood is fresh, the prepared lunch specials are always exceptional and portions huge. The to go area makes cooking at hone a thing of the past. The gumbo and crab bisque are as good as it gets. Unfortunately my boyfriend and I are just recovering from severe food poisoning after eating shrimp we got from here. We purchased 3 lbs of live shrimp on Monday and I made BBQ shrimp with them when we got home. My boyfriend mentioned that the shrimp smelled bad but I argued with him about it because I was so excited for them haha! I know for sure they were not undercooked being that I cooked them for five extra minutes and made sure they were all curled up and pink. Although this may not fully be Pats fault, they definitely should know the difference in smell between good and bad shrimp. read more

Decided to return to this place to try Seafood Platter. I ordered catfish plate. There were 6 pieces of catfish the size of my THUMB!!! And the so called cajun fries had NO taste and were greasy. So on Monday I was on a hunt for crawfish. Little did I know that most of the places selling crawfish are closed on Mondays. I didn't want to go to Rouses so hunted and hunted and came across Pat's. Walking in, the place is nice and clean, very friendly folks and just to the right is a wonderful cooler case of all sorts of goodies. Stuffed potatoes, potato salads, stuffed artichokes, seafood au gratin, and so many more. So while we stood there and drooled for a while, I was there for crawfish. I promised all those wonderful goodies I would be back to give them a try for sure. On to the crawfish. 10lbs for I believe $25 pretty much the market price at this time. And the crabs were calling so we picked up a dozen of those as well. Crawfish and crabs were good, not OMG I can't live without them good but none the less good. I think there could have been a touch more spice but that's just me. So why the 4 stars? Because they were open on a Monday. They saved me and got me the fix I so needed. Pat and his his staff were so helpful! We bought fresh shrimp, red fish, soft shell crabs and crawfish to take home to Arkansas. We're planning a seafood boil for friend and family. They packed our cooler with treasures from the gulf and spices and gave us free advice! We also bought 2 fresh crawfish pies for our breakfast! Delicious! The new location on HWY 21 next to PJ's and subway. I walked in today looking for some crawfish and remembered always going to pat's seafood as a kid 20 years ago. So I asked what's the price for boiled crawfish? I was told 3.99 hot, 2.99 cold!!! Which was strange to me, It's uncommon in my experience to get two different prices for crawfish outside of live or boiled. Never "hot or cold" So since it was 2 in the afternoon and I was eating them for dinner I decided to get the cold ones as by the time I planned to eat them for dinner they would cold anyway. I was terribly disappointed!!!! First off I was told 2.99 and was charged 3.09 which I can forgive the lady behind the counter for miss-speaking no one is perfect. The crawfish I received were old and had a sour smell. No telling how long they had been sitting in the cooler. I love crawfish and have eaten good and bad, clean and dirty, but nothing like this. Not only were they sour in smell but slimy in texture. This is by for the worst experience I have ever had eating crawfish. I ate four of them and couldn't take it anymore. Total waste of time and 20 bucks!!! No thank you, I wouldn't even recommend this place to my mother-in-law. I would also like to add that is in my first review on yelp. As someone who has worked in the service industry for most of my life I always thought people who wrote yelp reviews where douche bag who didn't understand how things actually work at a restaurant. Ordered 10lbs of boiled crawfish, side of potatoes and side of corn and we got there 20 MINUTES after we placed our order. The crawfish were barely warm and the potatoes were pretty cold. The corn was supposed to be ready in "15 minutes" but after 30 minutes we went in and asked about them. The kid in the kitchen yelled out "Well they're not frozen anymore" and they said it would be another 5 minutes so we asked for the refund on the corn. When the same kid came out to give us our money back he acted pissed off and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. No one offered us anything like a drink or some extra potatoes for waiting over 30 minutes for some corn. Our crawfish were officially cold by the time we left. Very disappointed! read more

This is seriously one of the best places for crawfish on the northshore. Always consistent and good prices. 2.99/lb when you buy 10 or more. Perfectly seasoned and spicy, great garlic etc. And they are good sized and clean. And the people are so friendly. It's better than mandeville seafood and acquistipaces. I'm giving this a three star because they have great fresh boiled crawfish and crabs. Their seasoning on that is great. But, their ready-to-eat foods are always so subpar. I get so excited everytime I go to Pat's to pick out something to eat for lunch, and I'm always disappointed after I get back to my office to eat it. The one thing I can say is actually good are their soups. But everything else- pasta, jambalayas, salads, cajun potato, etc are underwhelming. Firstly, they never put enough seafood in it. Like the crawfish/shrimp pasta will have like 10% seafood to 90% noodles. If you're a seafood deli, then maybe you should beef up the seafood ratio in your dishes. The caesar dressing for their salad is really good, but the boiled shrimp was so overcooked, it was rubbery. Just not great. read more

I called on Friday July 7th at 10:34 am and spoke to a young lady and asked if a hamper of #2s could be pre ordered for today July 10th. She informed me that she didn't know if we would have any, but took my number to call back and confirm. I missed your call back at 11:32am 7/07, but called back at 1:10pm and spoke to a gentleman. Unfortunately I did not ask for the gentleman's name, but he confirmed that he had me down for a hamper of #2s and asked for my name and number, but wouldn't be able to pick up until 1:30pm today 7/10. I informed him the time worked perfectly. Today at 12:13pm 7/10 I called to confirm that the hamper of crabs were available. I spoke to two gentleman and was told that they didn't have my hamper nor did they have a record of me calling. All you had to tell me was, "Sorry, I don't have you on the books or no record of you calling." I recommend you go back and review your call logs on the times/dates I typed out above. I am thoroughly disappointed in the lack of customer service I received today and the lack of fulfillment on my pre order. I had family visiting from out of town today who requested crabs, luckily I was able to locate another supplier to have my order fulfilled. Sorry Pat's, but you lost a customer today. read more
