This is, hands down, my favorite place to eat when I visit this area. To be honest, I'm kind of sad, because the business moved across the street to a new amazing building. The new building and store is amazing. Why am I sad? Because I loved the small place they had before (across the street). But im so happy for the owners, as they deserve all the good business they can get. You can buy fresh seafood to take home, or sit in the restaurant and eat from a huge menu of options. Wait was 30 minutes ok, we took a less desirable table to sit faster. Then proceeded to wait 45 minutes , so I went check with counter and no order was put in. Food finally brought out as they realize they messed up. No apology or appetizer or discount offered but ok if the food is good my family and I will be ok. My take on the food, we had cup of seafood gumbo and friend shrimp n catfish. Catfish had a lot of silver belly skin still on it with no seasoning. The shrimp not many on platter and no seasoning. When I say no seasoning there wasn't even salt on it. The seafood gumbo had a watery okra flavor no seasoning. Wife had potato salad which is white and it was okay but it ruined her stomach afterwards the reason I know? She was the only one who ate it. Looking at the customers inside, it looks like a good place for the elders and senior citizens maybe that's why they don't know what seasoning or salt is. First off I have to be honest and say that I have never eaten in the restaurant. However, I have eaten their food many times. I have always had it to go. The catfish platter is always good and the portion is fair. Truthfully, I just wish that they participated in some of the delivery services. As for the market side. It looks clean and appears to be your typical seafood market. However, from my experience I don't buy my fresh shrimp from them. Once was enough. I had my wife stop and buy some shrimp for dinner at home and they were anything but fresh. They were old and difficult to clean. Met family tonight at the new location of the Mandeville Seafood Market & Eatery. The new venue is much larger and the parking lot much more convenient. Counter ordering and service is friendly and efficient. Business was brisk on a Thursday night and boy was it loud! Certainly not an intimate space, but good for enjoying Louisiana seafood with those you enjoy being with. We had shrimp, catfish, etc., with fries, onion rings and all the familiar sides. Prices are a little steep for some items, but quality is high. If you liked the old location, you'll love the new one. read more

Went here shortly after opening. It shows that it closes at seven but it really just doesn't allow anybody new to come in after seven. They still had full table service and everything until like 8 o'clock. You go up to the staff they give you a number and when they call you, you go up to the counter and order when they bring the food to you. They have a really cute market next-door that has standard seafood items such as scallops and really nice looking shrimp and crawfish and salmon and whatever else is in season, then they have a section that's got frozen foods that are ready to cook or just heat and eat and then seasonings and some touristy type stuff. The food was really good and there is a lot of it. The roast beef sandwich was really good. The gumbo is Cajun style so if you'd like tomatoes, this isn't the one for you the fried shrimp plate had wonderful hush puppies the corn nuggets were so good and the shrimp was well seasoned and crispy fried. If you do the burger Poboy add the roast beef sauce. It just takes it to a whole new level. read more

Absolute disappointment! The girl that took our order was a little, short, salty, woman aka rude grouch. And not just to me but to each of our party that ordered. And furthermore, the other girls were just attitudish. I'd say a lot of the employees need some training on respect, courtesy, friendliness. This establishment is always busy. I tried the shrimp tacos on special and they were fantastic. I got them grilled and they come in flour tortillas. My colleague had a soft-shelled crab with a salad. I spent $200 to eat boiled crawfish with my family that had mud. Obviously, they weren't cleaned enough. I called and talked to a manager that was not interested in correcting the problem but instead I was argued with and indirectly called a liar and was rudely hung up on. No customer should be treated this way. That is why I hope a lot of people read this and think twice about going there. A different day I ordered a garden salad and got a Caesar salad and the hot chicken tasted like old chicken and I couldn't even eat it and it cost me 20 bucks; down the drain. whenever i'm craving a shrimp poboy, there's no other place i want to go other than mandeville seafood. yes, other places have good ones as well, but this one is personally my favorite. the shrimp are so big and every bite is a perfect ratio of shrimp/lettuce/mayo/cheese/bread. i may sound dramatic, but i don't care. it's just that good! the crab dip and the seafood gumbo are also favorites of mine & you can never go wrong with hush puppies & fried crab claws. the staff is always super nice and the whole environment is always so pleasant. i eat here often with my family and it's definitely a favorite of ours to frequent! If you are in the area Mandeville Seafood Market and Restaurant is a must stop! We were traveling through and didn't have time to sit down, so we did take out. During our short wait, we saw so many huge platters of wonderful looking seafood going out to the tables, we just knew our Po-boys were going to be great. The oyster Po-boy and the stuffed crab Po-Boys were huge, packed with seafood on a fresh tasty hoagie roll. We both were more than satisfied with half a Po-boy. Tried this spot after a friend recommended it. The parking was a mess because it's not that big, but I made a spot because there were literally no spots. Don't worry, I didn't block anyone in. Oh, and be prepared, it's rocks. The front is the marketplace, and then off to the side is the restaurant. It was very spacious. You order first, and then they assign you a table. It's Mardi Gras season, so all the tables were assigned a float name. That was different. I understand that whatever the season, the tables are named accordingly. The aroma of the food hit your nose as soon as you enter the restaurant, so you're definitely ready to order. The restaurant was clean, there were workers everywhere so you definitely shouldd get any problems addressed quickly. It's almost like a self-serve. The drinks are off to the side, and the silverware is where the drinks are. They bring your food to the table so you're not standing there waiting. There is a TO GO area if you're not eating there. The food was delicious, seasoned just right, and the oysters were one of the best fried I've had in a while.. i enjoyed everything I had, although my husband did have one shrimp that tasted nasty. The best way he described it was that it tasted STANK but it was only one of the shrimp. It wasn't greasy fried, so that was a plus, and everything was a golden color. I've never had crawfish so my in-laws wanted to make sure I try some on this trip. My in-laws are both from Louisiana. My mother in-law grew up in Covington, Louisiana so she knows the hot spots. This place is apparently one of the hot spots for crawfish and other seafood in general....fried seafood. Interesting is my take on crawfish lol. I also tried hush puppies, which were good. Their fried okra is very good. I can eat the heck out of those. Would I recommend this place? Yes, I would for anyone who loves fried seafood and crawfish. I wasn't a big fan of the crawfish and it wasn't because it was cooked wrong, it just didn't do anything for me but their serving is very generous and I could totally see why this is a hot spot. While traveling in Mandeville LA we tried the Mandeville Seafood market and had the best seafood platter . It was cooked to perfection, crispy and plenty of it . It may not look like much, but this is a great local, very casual, seafood restaurant with great platters and po boys. I always get the oyster po boy and it never disappoints. Also really like the potato salad and fries. You must first wait for a table, then once they tell you the name of your table, you order at the counter- that way you know you'll be sitting at a table when your food comes out. read more
