Overall great spot to eat! It was busy at 11 am. The po boy was decent, expected more mayo and lettuce but the portion of shrimp is fantastic! Seafood platter is great, crispy and hot. As we say in the Army, this is a sustain. 10/10 experience. We stopped in after a Saints game. We were able to get some fresh oysters and five pounds of delicious crawfish and, well, a hamburger. Everything was superb. This no fuss establishment has quite the following. The line was long, always a good sign. The friendly staff made the experience even better. When our food came out, the crawfish seasoning was one for the books. But those oysters may have been the best I ever had. The hamburger was also a delight. The space is cool. This is my favorite place to get cooked food and boiled seafood in Slidell. The seafood market side has all the boiled seafood you could want as they're always willing to tell you when it's coming out hot. They seem to cook all the time. The cooked food side is mostly for take-out, although there is a small seating area inside and a picnic table outside. It's not a full restaurant seating situation and not a bit rough around the edges, but you can't definitely eat your food in there. My soft shell crab was perfectly fried. We lived in Slidell for about 5 years and this was always are go to. Every time we come to visit, we make sure we make a stop. Not sure if this place is under new ownership or management but the staff was not friendly and the dining area was a mess. A lowkey seafood spot on the side of a fish market -- it's a bit outside the city and was recommended by a tour guide after exploring the Honey Island Swamp. All of the food is fresh and portions are large. The Fried Crab Legs were a clear highlight, food put me to sleep immediately after. I recommend snagging crawfish! read more

Hotel recommendation to try Kenney Seafood. I tried their Tuesday night special which was the Blackened Shrimp and Pasta. I started with an ice cold beer and it did not disappoint after a long day of travel. Very reasonable from a price point and the picture doesn't do it justice. I was hoping for larger shrimp but they were smaller in size but the dish was loaded with shrimp. The seasoning was nice and the pasta was cooked well and wasn't gummy. My dish was hot and the shrimp had a few shells remaining. The hostess recommended the special and I was impressed with how fast my order came out. A long line at the door for to go orders. The area was very nice with plenty of seating but several tables still were dirty from earlier diners. I did enjoy the bar seating away from the A/C as it was very cold in the main dining area.
