Pastries, fantastic. Service, I need s better word than fantastic. Friendly. Fast. Personal. Thanks for setting us up for a great day on the slopes

This seems more like a branding opportunity than a coffee shop. It's really an OK place; I'd visit…read morehere again, but I'd also probably try a few other places in town first. The vibes are strong here. It nails its rustic atmosphere and has a nice patio to sit out on. It's close-ish to the river, but you're mostly looking at a parking lot. All the other wares very much match the country-chic I think this is going for. I got very much the feeling of "we want to be a Magnolia of Colorado" from this place. Many of the items on sale referenced Root itself, trying to make fetch happen. As for what we got, we got some coffee, smoothies, and sweet tea. I also had one of their energy balls. Pricing was a bit on the high end, even for Pagosa. What was most absurd to me was how much my sweet tea was. Yes, it was good. But for that price, I was expecting a much larger cup. I was left thirsty. It's literally the cheapest thing you could make and not some secret recipe requiring expertise; for that price point I expected more to slurp on. The energy ball was tasty. The coffee, I'm told, was OK. The smoothies matched their price point and tasted fresh.

I'm so glad we hit up this spot before heading back home. We were craving quality baked goods and…read morecame in with high expectations. This place exceeded them! Located on the main street in Pagosa with ample parking (the entrance is around back), it's a cute converted house with original wood flooring, bright lighting, and the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread when you walk in. We ordered the Ham & Cheese Croissant, which was buttery and flaky with just the right amount of filling. Next, my wife ordered a breakfast burrito smothered in green chili sauce. This burrito was surprisingly good (I helped her finish it)! The sauce was made with fresh Hatch green chile (NM-style), which we loved because it reminded us of home. The coffee was decent overall. My wife said her latte wasn't quite strong enough, but I really enjoyed my cold brew. When we realized an item was missing from our order, the staff quickly and efficiently hustled to make it right.

Long overdue review for not only the best bakery in Pagosa Springs but the best small scale bakery…read moreI have ever lived near. Pagosa baking company has an absolutely dazzling array of rotating cakes, pastries, croissants, pies and tarts. From the crème brûlée tart (8$) to the chocolate cream pie minis (6$) to the amazing croissant breakfast sandwiches (5.75$) and cookies of all kinds (1-3.50$) we have been coming here for our sweet treats for months and they are literally batting 1.000% THEY DO NOT MISS. Service is ALWAYS friendly and prompt despite massive demand.....and don't even get me started on the bread. Made with locally milled flour and rye it is sublime (7$ per loaf). Everything about this place deserves support, they are a bastion of affordable quality in an ever pricier world. (I am a writer, these are my thoughts, ai played no role in this review). Please support these guys! You won't regret it
