I came in to this dentist because I just moved into town. I had a bridge previously put in from my family dentist out of town that fell off in between my move to Patterson. Front desk was very helpful and nice, I think that all the good I can say about this place. Anywho, when I came in to cement my bridge on the doctor only came in introduced himself looked at my tooth and sent someone else to come cement it on. She didn't even ask check to see if it fit properly, just cemented right on. Later that night, it felt uncomfortable, next day worse and so on. On the next week I noticed my gums were swollen, so I figured they placed the bridge incorrectly. I go in to get seen again, another doctor sees me, she shaves down my bridge and said that was the issue, said I should t have pain again and if I do take ibuprofen. That night the pain got worse, next morning even worse. I called in they gave me an appointment that same day. The first doctor I seen attended me and asked what was the issue. I said honestly I don't know but I am having immense pain, please remove this bridge! The doctor said, it was your bridge you brought in we just cemented it back on. We did nothing wrong. oh dear this doctor has no compassion. I told him that I was in so much pain I had to ask him to numb my area, he injected me but numbed everywhere else but the affected area! When he sent the hygienist to come clean up the area, because he refused to remove or even adjust the bridge she started to clean up the area and I started crying of the immense pain! She stopped and looked at the X-ray taken, said I had bone loss and that's probably what's causing the pain. After she seen me crying she gave me another injection for numbness and said I was all done and sent me off home. I asked what do I do for this pain, she said go ask the doctor to prescribe something for you. He prescribed me ibuprofen! After I told them I've been taking that and it's not helping relieve the pain! I will never set foot in this place again! These people know nothing about what they're doing! If you have an appointment here, please think twice and do not schedule here! It's horrible, they have no compassion for patients in pain. They didn't even find a solution to my problem! I'll definitely be going back to my family dentist even if I have to drive 2 hours. read more

Worst dentist (indian guy) I have ever encountered in my life. My chief concern was gum ache, rather than telling me what is wrong, he tried to impose tooth extraction. He tried to get me to various different things BUT address my concern just to make more money. He further aggravated and chipped my healthy teeth by doing unnecessary fillings after fillings and ripping me off. His service was super rushed. The quality of the fillings too are so bad that I had to ask him to re-do the four fillings, and even then it was horribly done. And my teeth that got the fillings even cracked in the process (confirmed by my new awesome dentist). RICKY even recommended two other teeth fillings, when in fact its not even needed (again, confirmed by my new dentist in Manteca). Thank god, I never went back for these two fillings as I got major bad vibes from the guy. Instead of doing permanent filling, he put temporary fillings on one of my teeth without my consent. He tried to then get me to extract it when in fact he initially told me that a filling would suffice. Thankfully, I recently found a great dentist, who patiently takes the time to listen to me, gives me genuine and candid feedback and walks me through the process properly. Save your money and time, and spare the horror of going to this horrendous and money-hungry dentist who will ALSO ruin your teeth. Additional note: this dentist will not even spend 5 mins to listen to what you have to say. The ambiance of the office is also not professional and interiors need major update. I recommend no one to go to Patterson Family Dental, and wish that they give me a refund. The only reason I chose this place is because its close to where I live, but now I am willing to drive 40 mins to avail great dental services in Manteca. Lesson learnt big time! BEST dentist I've been to in 60 years!! He listened to my needs (need extra time for novocaine to take effect among a couple other things). I had a filling in my front tooth... Didn't feel a thing!! I have had other dentists ignore my sensitivity which has made me very fearful of getting work done. Not this office! Again, all staff, including the dentist is very personable. From the staff to Dr. Velasquez, I could not find any better place than to be there. The staff were welcoming me as a new patient & helpful, lead me to a computer to fill out my medical history , cancellation policy, privacy act , person responsible for you, etc. I have no dental insurance and they gave me a coupon for $95 which includes Xray, dental exam & a cleaning. I typically HATE going to the dentist. I was scheduled for a deep cleaning and had two cavities filled, and it was probably one of the most wonderful experiences I've had at a dental office. The lady that did my deep cleaning was so wonderful and made sure I didn't feel ANYTHING during the process. I'm so sensitive when it comes to dental work and I was so pleased with the service! Dr. Ricky was the doctor who did my fillings, and although I was still a little numb he asked me if I needed any more to reduce the pain. Without hesitation he definitely numbed me up and got right to the fillings. I didn't feel a thing during this process either! He was quick for sure, and he made sure I was very comfortable. Had a cavity for a while that they never caught on X-Rays after numerous visits.. They sent me to a specialist for gums and she saw it even on my old X-Rays.. By then it needed a root canal.. Scheduled for one and it was never done.. Doctor would be sick and I would never never get a call to reschedule.. Keep getting a run around..Another dentist said she didn't do Root canals.. Last draw is I went in and Dr Brar (horrible) saw me and by the time the root canal was to start he was gone..The same one that said she didn't do them came in just to tell me again she couldn't do it.. Next time around he was out of town all the sudden.. They sent me to his brother in Modesto same thing.. In the mean time the decay on the tooth continued.. You've been warned.. Overall, I had a great experience here. I'm use to waiting forever at other dental clinics, but I was called in relatively quickly. Less than 15 minutes! The staff were all warm, kind, inviting people. I was surprised that even the dentist was really gentle, yet thorough with my cleaning. Even gave me a crash course on some of the electric toothbrushes available, which I thought was super cool! It was probably one of the most fun, painless appointments I ever had visiting a dentist. I came to this dentist because they did see my kids every 6 months for cleanings and did a good job. I've had extremely bad experiences with a prior dental office that left my teeth in the worst shape I've ever seen teeth. Cavities that needed fillings which broke, leading to larger fillings, than root canals and then failed root canals to extractions to bridges that failed and partial dentures. Over $25,000 later, I decided to just save an have full mouth implants done. Fast forward to this office. I had a molar that a large filling fell out of on Thanksgiving. I am use to this, and was just like whatever. However,I began experiencing severe pain that didn't go away after about a week, so I figured I needed to have it looked at. The pain radiated on the entire right side of my face from my jaw up to my temple, and through my ear, and left me in tears. I went in to be seen and they said I needed to have it pulled out. I tried explaining to him (dentist) what I've dealt with over the last 5-6 years, and how I wanted him to just remove all the teeth, do bone grafting and place dentures. He wouldn't even let me finish talking before he said no, he won't do that because I'm "too young". Instead, he wants to pull 4 more teeth, crown all of the remaining teeth and give me partial dentures. He wouldn't listen to what I explained happened before and I'm not willing to put another $25000 into my mouth just for it to fail. He even seen a tooth that WAS crowned and the crown broke, which he wants to place another crown on, which won't be covered at all by insurance because it was already covered 2 years ago. For the temporary solution for pain, he gave me antibiotics. He said if the pain is still bad after a few days, to call in and get something else prescribed for pain. I suffered 3 more days and finally called and his suggestions was 800 mg of Tylenol and 800mg of Motrin at the same time every 4 hours until I no longer have pain. So instead of prescribing something safer to take, like Tylenol 3, not even narcotics, he's wanting me to quadruple a recommended dose of OTC and double up on types. I'm also a diabetic, have high BP and heart problems, but let's just refuse to give anything for pain and have you overdose on OTC meds. NOT recommend if you have pain. If you want a teeth cleaning and a tooth brush, go for that only! read more

my overall experience here was pretty good. I had to wait a little while to see the dentist each time, but they're a super small office so I understand the wait. I love the office ladies, ( Virginia and Anna) they were always super sweet to me and making sure they could help me in every way possible. Virginia is always so pleasant when she answers the phone and Anna explained my payment options to me very well and made sure I understood the arrangements before I committed to anything. I also love the hygienist (can't remember her name :() and the RDA Jessica! Jessica just has a great bedside manner and was constantly making sure I was okay throughout my procedures. She was fantastic. Dr Ricky was okay. Nice, but kind of rough during the procedures. I also felt kinda rushed with him ( but like mentioned above, small office with a lot of patients and little time) just wish he was more gentle and that he explained what kind of work he would be doing BEFORE he started the procedure, but eh whatever Overall, I would still go back if necessary. This week my boyfriend went in for an emergency appointment and honestly we both left so disgusted by the experience. First off the ladies at the front desk spent the entire time I sat there gossiping loudly and After the polite dental assistant took his X-rays and let him know he would have to go somewhere else for the procedure as the front desk clerk loudly announced to everyone in the waiting room that he was going to lose all his teeth. He left there worried and embarrassed by this woman. Today we went to the Referred office they directed us to and it was a 180 experience where he found out that he wasn't losing all teeth as the woman stated and even the dentist said that the behavior was "a one star yelp review office".We will never be going back to this establishment and honesty these women need a refresher course on professionalism and bedside manners. read more

I needed an emergency procedure and went to this dentist because they offered nitrous oxide, an absolute must for me as I fear nothing more than the dentist. Hopefully some of you can relate. After 20 minutes of being on the stuff, I was feeling nothing. I continuously told the dentist that this isn't working and they finally, after 20 minutes, realized that there was a leak in the tube. We rescheduled until they could get it fixed. Turns out the dentist ordered the part from China! As far as I know, the part still hasn't arrived. When I came back again to complete the procedure, the dentist had to pull something out of the tooth and he pulled on it with such force I thought he was going to pull the entire tooth out. The pain was so bad, and he took so long. I finally made him stop for a minute so i can catch my breath and he all of the sudden stopped and said, I required sedation and because he didn't have any, he was stopping and suggested I find another dentist. Remember, the entire reason I went to this place was they had sedation. This dentist has no business dealing with patience. He is rude, doesn't explain anything he is going to be doing. He quick 3/4 through the procedure. He treats his staff with complete disrespect in front of customers. If going to the Dentist causes you anxiety, You absolutely want to stay away from Patterson family dentist you will regret going there and dealing with this insensitive cold disrespectful dentist that needs to learn how to deal with patients a heck of a lot better then how is handling it now. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with my children at a dental office. The dental assistant was very nice but the dentist was very rude. I try to support local business and especially new ones in our small town. I have lived here for 25 years & have enjoyed seeing different options for us. However I made an appointment for one of my children, during that appt the dental asst encouraged me to make an apt for my youngest child for her 1st check up. She was scared having never been to a dentist, I was told to take her home & give her Benadryl & bring her back. Really... Suggesting I use medication for purposes not as directed. The dentist yelled as his assistant if front of me & my children because he was annoyed my child was afraid; further upsetting them. Why recommend I make an appointment for my child & then decide you aren't a children's dentist and further compound the insult by raising your voice in front of them. Disgusting behavior, ethically wrong for suggesting I medicate my child & disrespectful. I would never return. The referral fees I received would never compensate my children for such an inappropriate display of arrogance! Oh and the child he did see, I was being charged an additional $95 on top of my referral fees of $100 & insurance coverage... Took her to Dr. Klein in Patterson & only paid an $18 copay. I have horrible experiences with this dentist and staff . It's too many too list but the Most painful one and I cry hard . Is when this doctor check on my molar and dig a hole on my tooth and put a cement stuff in it . I was so calm and think this is nothing and I can deal with this .She check if I needed a root canal . When eveything else is said and done she told me that night that I don't need a prescription and it's not gonna hurt I'm gonna be fine and blah blah Blah blah . When I get home after 5 minutes I have the most painful toothache and it feel like hell in my molar tooth . It's unbearable and I cry so hard and punch the wall . I call their emergency number which is useless cause I feel like crap already and 50/50 I call my own doctor even to gave me a prescription but she said they don't deal with toothache off course ! What am I thinking . Honestly , It was 7 at night and I can't get a hold of the manager for an hour . Finally I get to talk to the manager at 8 pm and she told me they don't have the strong prescription painkiller(800 mg) in the office!!! . It was Saturday most of the pharmacy in patterson are close that night . She ended up gaving me a 200 mg. Ibuprofen . I have to take 8 pills to kill the pain . And took more after 4 hours . It was the worst painful experience in the dentist office . I ended up getting a root canal . Which is another horrible story to tell . I went into this office in pain early June, they said I could not see Dr. Brar until July 14th. Still in pain he talked to me and referred me out to a group in Tracy, but I was to come in on July 31st to have some pre surgery work done. When I went in I asked are you going to do a temp or something. Otherwise I will not have any front teeth for 4 months. He then referred me to a clinic in San Francisco, telling his staff to cancel my apt with the Tracy clinic. They did not cancel that apt but the lady at the desk made some rude comments to me because when I filled out the evaluation they gave me for services I did not rave about them.
