She went to check on the drinks and came back and said we didn't get them because the keg blew. So we ordered a different drink, that took another 10 minutes to get. The bartender was running the drinks. We noticed that there was only 2 waitresses, there was a 15 top a 6 top and then 4 4 tops and a couple 2 tops. The waitresses were also busing tables along with the girl that was busing. A cook was running food along with the waitresses. So needless to say they were short staffed. So we then ordered our food, I ordered the bison burger and my husband ordered the catch of the day which was supposed to be flounder, that took about 45 minutes. It finally came, the bison burger which was supposed to have arugula (which I ordered without) Boursin cheese and a blueberry Tupelo bbq sauce , It came out with only a patty. I sent it back and the waitress came back and asked if I just wanted the lettuce tomato and onion. I said no, I want what's supposed to be on it the Boursin cheese and the bbq sauce. She said that's what she thought but the kitchen told her she wasn't right. So she went and told them that. She brought it back out, it was the same burger that the just threw a huge chunk of the cheese on, so it didn't melt and a huge piece of onion and tomato. It doesn't say anything about onion and tomato on the menu. Then she told me they were out of the sauce. I ate it anyways and it was ok despite the cheese not being melted and no sauce. My husbands catch of the day was ok, however it wasn't flounder. Ember was our waitress and she was very good, she was doing the best she could with what she had. There needed to be more staff and probably a manager there would have been good. Their instagram says that they are bringing in an outside consultant and I hope that helps, because as of right now we won't be going back.

I talked to a lot of caterers, but knew The Twisted-Fork was the right fit for us when Pam told me that with menu creativity, even a smaller budget can feel like much more - think I fell in love. It is SO rare in wedding planning to feel like someone genuinely has your best interest at heart, but that is exactly how I'd describe Pam and the Twisted-Fork team - genuine. We wanted an "elevated" cocktail-style wedding (~100 guests) instead of a traditional seated dinner/reception, which in my opinion makes good food and drinks that much more important to guests' experience - cue stress! But Pam made coordinating both catering and bartending such a breeze that it quickly became the thing I'd tell my now-husband "not even worried about that, Pam's got it covered". And she did - her team met, and exceeded, every expectation I had day-of (and I admittedly had a lot of them): Amazing, quality food that was displayed beautifully, a team that pitched in on extras without question and were so lovely to everyone, on-point bartenders that probably made at least 200 espresso martinis (sorry to their arms), and a perfectly clean kitchen afterwards! People have raved about the food and overall experience to me (shrimp cakes with lemon aioli, rhubarb bruschetta, and mini roast beef sliders were the top hits for our crew). We had 1. Bartenders that made guests come up to me and say "they see me coming and start making my drink for me" 2. A menu and flavors that felt unique and yet balanced and thoughtful to our specific event style/goals. I mean, really, what more could you ask for?? Even our other vendors would say "oh, you won't be disappointed" when they'd hear Pam was our caterer. I can tell she takes pride in using top-quality ingredients and putting a creative (and tasty) spin on typical event foods, taking them over the top! Malie does not follow through on promises and is defensive and reckless when mistakes are made instead of sympathetic and eager to please. To be in a service industry, I find this to be her most disturbing trait. When we decided to go through with her, she promised a "welcome gift" and beer for my husband during out engagement shoot. Both never happened. I had to remind her of the welcome gift twice before a small booklet was sent to me. No beer for my husband. But i let it go since the engagement shoot turned out satisfactory. Cut to the wedding. She cancelled on my twice for phone calls only to finally tell me 2 days before my wedding her second shooter could not make it, the second shooter i had already paid for. she was scrambling telling me this and talked in circles, but what was i supposed to do. she instead brought her husband who clearly did not seem happy or eager to help her. his pictures turned out pixelated and they did not work well as a team. she spent way to much time taking family protraits leaving little to no time for pics of my husband and i, which i specifically asked her to do the opposite. from the second she started the to moment she ended, she seemed frazzled and unorganized. multiple ppl at my wedding said they felt bad for her bc she seemed so overwhelmed and not put together. she had no plan, clearly did not think about places to shoot, or had her camera and lighting ready. the thing that dissappointed me most is the fact that she never addressed any of my concerns and only acted in defence and passive aggressiveness. i work in customer service industry and would never treat a client the way she treated me. if you have 4 hours to pose on a sunny day outside, Malie might do a decent job for you. but if you expect candid photos that capture you love and an experienced photographer that can rise to any occasion, look elsewhere.

We were booked into the inn by a client who wanted to make our first visit to Suffolk a memorable one. The home is a true Southern belle - a grand dame of historic mansions. It has been so lovingly restored and is perfectly appointed. We had so much fun exploring every inch of the home and absorbing its character. The proprietor (and very talented chef) Ruth has mastered the art of hospitality, inviting us to truly make the home our own. She didn't mind one bit that we planted ourselves in the reclining leather chairs in the stately octagonal library with another couple and yakked enthusiastically until the wee hours. After a blissful night sleep, breakfast the following morning was a marvelous affair. We prepped a coffee for ourselves at the Nespresso machine (fantastic!) and meandered around the grounds until the heavenly smell of baking croissants lured us to the elegant, light-filled breakfast room. Usually an eat-and-run proposition for us, we lingered for over an hour enjoying the delectable food and the conversation with the other guests. The charm of the house and its gracious owner had worked its magic - we were refreshed, satiated and inspired. We departed with great reluctance but the spirit of the Truitt house hung about us for the rest of the day and onto the next as we traveled home. This place has that without losing its original charm from 1909. Because I'm here for work, I'm purposely spending all my time at the house when not on location and I love to be able to move from study to library to the atrium and other rooms in order to read and for a change of atmosphere.
