Sometimes I bring a blanket, sit on the grass, and bring some food to have a little picnic. It's a simple thing, but I always enjoy spending time here with the ocean view and the sound of the waves. I also like that they have bags available the area in case you need to clean up after your dog. I noticed there is a one of stations near the end of the street where you can grab them. From here, you can walk down toward little Corona del Mar and get closer to the beach. You can also walk on the sand, but personally I prefer staying up here because it feels cleaner and more convenient when I don't need to go down to the beach. Street parking is available nearby, but you may need to drive around a little to find a spot for parallel parking.

It's a very fun and safe environment for our kids and makes our summers days more fun! Our 3 year old enjoys the playground and the lagoon too. You have to PAY FOR PARKING but that's pretty normal for Newport Beach. We usually find parking very easily near here. Also, there are PUBLIC RESTROOMS and showers to rinse off available inside & next to the "lighthouse" - another thing that makes this spot easier with kiddos!

Interesting play structure with tons of climbing (almost like a mini ropes course) for older kids. Cons: No bathroom. No shade. The playground says it's for ages 2-12, but there's hardly anything there for a 2-3 year old, so you quickly run out of things to do. The toddler play structure is tiny, and the older kids' play structure is inaccessible for toddlers because of all the climbing required to get on it.

The equipment is great for swinging, sliding, and climbing. It's in good condition and is generally clean (no obvious signs of damage, graffiti, etc). The park is sandwiched between an apartment complex and neighborhood, so it has a safe residential feel with free, open street parking. There are a lot of bees in the grass, so be careful with that. The picnic area is covered, but it would be nice if there were shaded play areas too.

We found this garden through…read moresearching for photogenic spots in the area, and it was perfect for a short but serene stroll. - PARKING - Lots of parking as it's right next to the Huntington Beach Libary! - ENVIRONMENT - Beautiful field of grass that surrounds a lake. There are several park benches for you to sit and enjoy the view and weather. Lots of geese and squirrels running around that aren't scared of people at all - they're probably used to being fed! The garden has a pretty archway designating the start of the garden. - EXPERIENCE - It only takes about 10 minutes to walk through the entire garden, depending if you stop and take photos! There are a variety of flowers and greenery inside, and I love how calm it is. We took family photos outside the garden as there were more bloomed flowers. I hope the inside of the garden continues to bloom throughout springtime!
