I love kitschy , roadside attraction type places and this absolutely fit that. We made reservations to be on the safe side. We got there a bit early so that we could wander around the shops. They do have moonshine tasting, which was fun. I liked hearing about Calvin and Mr. Bill. I could easily see how people could spend a whole day here: For dinner, we were in a room with butterflies and flowers. When you looked around, it's almost as if you didn't know where to focus your attention. I ordered a drink and the burger ($2 upcharge after 4pm). The burger was ok but the fries were delicious. Our server, Jordan, kept our table laughing every time he came by. Worth checking out if in the area but definitely check out the menu before so you don't get sticker shock on some of the prices. read more

Kitschy as hell, which I enjoy. Lots of shops to wander while you wait. Looks like Alice in Wonderland threw up. The staff is the best part. Murica! During my approach I saw so many American flags all around the building and I loved it. I checked in and they gave me a buzzer so I walked around to kill some time. There's this whole lighted (think Christmas type lights) walkthrough area behind the restaurant with animals, a koi pond and stores (gift & liquor). This space is unlike most any restaurant that I've ever been to but it was neat. The food is what really got Patti her rating though. The flower pot bread was good, the spinach salad with the hot bacon dressing was better and that pork chop with the sauce completed an excellent meal. Then came desert, the peanut butter chess pie was phenomenal and of course I had to get it with ice cream and now I'm getting ready for bed from a food induced coma. read more

Really neat place. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and seeing the gardens, Koi pond and the birds. We loved the mini golf course and the little shops. We didn't eat but will next time. First off, Patti's is pricey. You know that up front so that being said just go and enjoy the experience. If you opt for their signature 2" pork chop you'd better be hungry. It is tender and delicious and seasoned to perfection. The sides are traditional southern sides and also very good and flavorful. My wife had the chicken Oscar and she raved about it. We have been there as a couple and also with friends and have yet to have anyone that didn't love the food. The desserts are beautifully made , rich and delicious as well! If you are a first timer try their " mile high" meringue pies! A variety of fillings but each is over the top ( literally). The old time decor, the themed rooms and overall feel of the restaurant makes it a true destination eatery. You will want to make a reservation and go in hungry. We had been here over the summer, and stopped by with our daughter to share the experience. Service is always good, and some of the food is great. It seemed like the 1 inch porkchop was not as good as the gigantic one I had last time, but I coykd be crazy. My husband woukd say I was crazy, so there is that. My daughter loved her fish. The mashed potatoes with white gravy were so good, I ate those first. Hubby asked for a garden salad with salmon. He got a spinach salad with salmon. Our server brought it out and offered to have it remade, but the salad looked wonderful and he really enjoyed it. Kudos to the chef for standing his ground haha. We were too full for dessert. Interesting place. We waited for four hours in the "settlement" for our table in the restaurant. I still don't think there is any historic significance to the 1880's thing but the food was good. Go here, best food within 50 miles. Get 2" thick porkchop even if you don't like porkchops. Will melt in your mouth. The flower pot bread served with strawberry butter before the meal is as good as it gets. Service is 1880's themed with waitresses dressed in period dresses. Best restaurant atmosphere around. It is a bit pricey but not pricey for what you get. Family of 4 will cost around $100-$150. If you're from out of town you've found the place. The service is great, the steak melted in my mouth and everyone should try this place. The "flower pot" home made bread is scrumptious & my first time tasting strawberry butter, so yummy! The ambiance is "Cracker Barrel meets old dusty floral decor," which in my humble opinion is a very "cluttered and clausterphobic" atmosphere, but it is still worth going to visit. What did I think of Patt's 1880's Settlement? A lot, actually. We showed up around 4 in the afternoon on a weekday, and somehow still had a short wait to be seated. Go figure. It wasn't a long wait, but when we went back there were several open tables so it just makes you think. Anyway... The decor is very... interesting. The wait staff wears the ugliest dresses I've ever seen, and the fellows wear overalls. I guess that's what fashion in the 1880s was? Nonetheless of their fashion choices, the service was amazing. My cup never went empty and the food was brough out promptly. The food, albeit expensive, was good. The bread in the flower pot was a cool touch, and the strawberry butter was amazing. Me and my wife both got steaks and were both cooked to perfection. The kids ordered chicken tenders with soup, and spaghetti with a loaded baked potato. The soup was eaten, the rest was nibbled on as it seemed like the knew we were going to order dessert. Well they were right. The dessert was good and every last drop was eaten. My friend brought me to this restaurant while I was visiting from out of state. We got to walk around outside and it was pretty with all the lights. It was nicely decorated inside and liked the themed rooms. I was torn between the pasta and another meal. I went with the chicken linguine and it was delicious! The server was sweet and said everything is made from scratch so that explains why it was so good. Excellent plate portion as well. The terracotta pot bread was served warm and with the strawberry butter it was divine! I also like when the salad is served on cold plates. This place is a hidden gem! Between the excitement of multiple gift shops to the amazing dinner I had, I cannot recommend this place enough. The mozzarella sticks were beer battered, so freaking yummy. The flower pot bread was adorable! Everything I had was phenomenal! They have 11 different dining rooms with different themes, it is adorable. My server was lovely, on top of things, and dressed in the cutest floral smock. From start to finish Patti's does not disappoint. I feel so much nostalgia when I visit, I grew up coming here when I lived in the area. Now that I don't live close it's always a special day when I am able to pay one of my favorite places a visit. I hardly ever stray from my usual starting with the flowerpot bread and lots of strawberry butter. For my entree I typically get the chicken Oscar, it's a fan favorite! For dessert we really struggle to decide between a mile high meringue pie or a boatsinker, usually landing on the boatsinker to get our fill of chocolate! I really love their new space that they rebuilt following the fire, it still has the cozy atmosphere. We have been wanting to go by patties 1880s settlement for many years now we finally got the opportunity Drew about 2 1/2 hours to get there and it was Christmas time and we got to see all the wonderful sites and sounds and explore the area, which is why I'm giving this place four stars because the atmosphere of the walk with the Christmas decorations and the whole area was definitely a five. We had a great time walking around taking pictures and seeing everything. The food itself is Three at the most. I got a hot Brown. It was OK. It was overpriced. My wife got a grilled chicken and some veggies and a baked potato and it was just OK also. Got a huge piece of lemon meringue pie, but it was mostly just meringue. No lemon not really great taste atmosphere the restaurant itself was just OK. Service was decent enough but way over price for what we got but the dealbreaker for sure is the outdoors and see the actual settlement and walk around and take pictures. That would be a nice memory for sure and that's what would bring me back one day. read more

My wife had the 1" pork chop with apples and slaw. They brought out bread baked in a clay flower pot. The waitress directed us to twist the bread and out it pops. Hot, fresh and delicious. A party of 8 had dinner on a Wednesday evening. We had a 6pm reservation and were seated on time. The Christmas decorations throughout the resturant are phenomenal. The space is so unique, with numerous dinning areas including several private dinning rooms. Service was very good. My husband and I split the 2 inch pork chop dinner that came with 2 sides. We opted for the apple topping that was a $5 up charge but made the chop more enjoyable as it was kind of dry. We had the mashed potatoes that had too much pepper in them and the cole slaw that was ok. I added a spinach salad with hot bacon dressing that again was ok. The bread in a flower pot was good, especially with the strawberry butter. There was a $2 charge for splitting but they cut the chop in half and served us both a serving of mashed potatoes on our own plates. Took a friend to experience Patti's. They had the infamous 2" pork chop with baked potato and spinach salad. Very good introduction! I had Ella Mae's chicken with baked potato and a cup of tomato/red pepper soup. Fantastic! Enough to bring home for a 2nd meal. The service was fast and servers paid us plenty attention. The settlement is large and clean and reminds me a lot of the food court/ gift shop area that was part of Opryland in its beginning. Another great meal, but the novelty is beginning to wear off... Stopped in after a day of exploring the Shawnee National Forest, this time with my father and son. This time I got the bacon wrapped pork filet, with loaded baked potato and the homestyle fries. I was told ahead of time that the fries were "seasoned" so i was expecting something akin to seasoned fries, (albeit cubes) but these were honestly rather flavorless, and would have benefitted from al least another minute in the frier IMO. The loaded baked potato was fabulous as always, and the bacon wrapped pork filet too was tremendous, but underwhelming in size. My father had the famous 1 inch pork chop with a baked potato and the green beans with bacon. His chop was good but dry, and he didn't really care for the sauce/gravy but it was almost a requirement due to the porkchop being a bit dried out. The sides were good however. My son ordered the grilled chicken breast and he really liked it, as well as his Ceaser salad and baked potato. I too tried his chicken and i was honestly really good. I think I may try a chicken dish next time as well. Finally my other guest, and previous guest for all other Patti's visits, tried a chicken dish as well, "Dons Chicken" It looked incredible and he too was impressed with it. Patti's is a really, REALLY, great spot! Not only for the "homestyle" food, but all the other things on the campus. In my opinion it is ALWAYS worth the stop if your traveling through, but I could see how frequent visitors could begin to get burned out. We absolutely loved Patti's for our first excursion. The service, food, and ambiance was very nice especially for the holidays. We had the flower pot rolls (adorable.) The strawberry butter was quite good and I never eat that stuff. The soup of the day was stuffed pepper and it was so good my sons ate it too and asked to get some to go. I had the fried fish well cooked and honestly so firm almost tasted like chicken. Baby enjoyed the mashed potatoes. The hush puppies were just ok. The kids grilled cheese was ginormous and probably would have satisfied a grown man. My son thoroughly enjoyed the chicken tenders. My husband got the popular pork chop. It was excellent and came with a tasty side sauce. The baked potato was very loaded. The whole meal was a big treat. We chased it with the chess pie and vanilla ice cream. I was recommended this place specifically for their signature pork chop. I have to say that it was disappointing considering this is their signature item. You can tell the pork chop wasn't freshly made and it was reheated or tossed back on the grill. I've had a little snafu with our waitress, forgetting our appetizer which secretly I was glad because we ate way too much. She comped us a dessert to make up for it. I had the fried catfish and it was amazing and the hush puppies were large and delicious. The mashed potatoes were very different delicious they kind of tasted like smoked or steel meal. The ice cream was very creamy and thick, and the whipped cream was equally as thick and but more frosty of course we didn't like the strawberry butter we're not a sweets family we're a savory it's not that it's not good It's very good if that's what you're into. Catfish flies were huge and tender did not taste muddy at all. Good tartar sauce, homemade ranch. The tea was bad. Tasted a little fermented. So skip that. My daughter didn't like her green beans. We love stopping here for lunch when traveling to Tennessee. It's like stepping back in time. We love the "Country Store" and the nostalgic feeling you get when you're there. My husband loves the Pork Chop and gets it every time. With the entrees and all the sides that come with them a person should not leave hungry. The staff is top notch. Everyone was so nice. Service was impeccable. Wes you rock!!!! I couldn't help but smile the moment I got out of the car. The smells coming from the restaurant are mouth watering. We walked around and saw the koi fish and the peacocks and stopped in all the little shops. For dinner we chose the Classic BLT and pepper soup that was served with homemade kettle chips and the most tasty hot mustard. I kept dipping my spoon in it. So delish!!! Karen ordered the Hot Brown which looked so good! We did save room for dessert which was Sawdust pie. I've always wanted to try it and it had great flavor. The service is great! The staff is welcoming and they work well together. Our server was very nice, inviting and explained everything as it was our first time. The flower pot bread came with strawberry butter and it worked well with it! The spinach salad seems like it has an odd combination of mandarin oranges, almonds, carrots and green onions but the hot bacon dressing brings it all together. The original 2" pork chop didn't disappoint and the fries were nicely crispy. The sauce for the pork was a soy sauce and butter base. Not bad, but the also provided bbq sauce which was a little smoky and very sweet. The catfish was not my favorite. It was a hearty piece of catfish, but the breading lacked seasoning--It was very bland. I never use tartar sauce but it desperately needed it to add flavor. Hushpuppies were also a bit bland but crispy. I wouldn't recommend this meal. The side of seasonal pumpkin soup with apple and bacon was DELICIOUS. I wish this was a permanent menu item and it came in larger portions. It made up for the disappointing catfish. They have a bunch of homemade desserts that seems a bit overwhelming to pick from. We got the Peanut Butter Chess Sinker Pie that comes with coffee ice cream. I'd give the pie a 6.5/10 but the coffee ice cream an 8/10. Willing to try others though. We'll be back to try other menu items as well! The atmosphere was a small trip back in time and the seasonal decor was very detailed and fun. It seemed like each room had a theme.
