There were no ED rooms or even hall beds, so my mom got her vitals taken, an IV put in to draw blood, and then sent back to the waiting room for the duration. Same deal with all the other patients. The big TV was on the Discovery Channel equivalent of COPS the entire time so the room was stuck with a 50 inch TV with a bunch of aggressive cops and prison guards yelling at people and chasing down and tackling people on body cam footage - not exactly soothing or good for a room of people who essentially couldn't leave. The ED tech did her absolute best to manage expectations, but we never saw a doctor. We saw a PA 2am who basically agreed that the instructions we got from the on-call neurologist six hours earlier were .... fine. If we wanted to wait and get a CT scan, it would be easily another 4 hours. So we gave up and went home, untreated. Their Press Gainey score in the email request for review the hospital sent was conveniently worded so that there was no way to say "wanted to be seen by a doctor and never saw one."

What type of urgent care does not have a lab? How do they run any tests? So I went to the hospital and it was a pulled muscle. The hospital did not understand why I was sent there. Then when I filed a complaint they told me I would hear back in 30 days... guess who never heard back from them after multiple calls.

On top of the thoughtful travel advice, the NP also strongly encouraged me to get an MMR booster because of recent outbreaks of measles. This was well before it had hit the news, and her foresight was really helpful to me since I was going to be in crowded US airports and planes. (No fear of measles in China, since the Chinese respect science and medicine. ;) One note, be sure to check with your insurance about coverage for this place. If you're covered, it's only a co-pay; if you're not it will be expensive. (They will warn you about this.) Also, it may take several days, even weeks, for them to call to schedule your appointment, but don't panic. They are just scheduling people in order of travel date.

I unfortunately have had to go 4 times in the last 3 weeks as me & my son (hes 3) have been sick recently... Staff seems nice, I had been a patient of the last office so long I think I just knew the girls there better (I mean cmon they are my FB friends) I just loved all those girls & who knows, maybe in time Ill love all the girls here... The offices are clean, they have stickers for my little guy & a decent play train table in the office... Anything that keeps him distracted works for me... Ill let you know in a year how things are then!
