Update: my dog that I got from this place has a liver shunt. It went undiagnosed for 7 years. He was finally diagnosed and he is obviously too old to have it fixed. He will live the rest of his life (a shorter one at that) with this issue, unable to do many things a normal dog would. I cannot encourage anyone looking for a puppy enough to make sure whoever you buy from is a preservation breeder with full health tests and OFAs on their dogs. DO NOT GO TO A BACKYARD BREEDER LIKE THIS COMPANY. They are not ethically breeding and they do not care about the health and safety of their litters, only the profit they provide. Do as much research as you can and follow account on social media that will teach you about what an ethical breeder looks like. If you get a puppy from this company, it will live a life of suffering. read more

From the moment we walked into Coastal Pups my guard was up....the smell was horrendous! They bought the pup I was intrested in out for us to see. We decided we would rescue her from the horrific odor. No sooner were we in the car and she started coughing. My vet treated her for kennel cough and said the health certificate was bogus. Although she is a sweet pup it's been a month and she still coughs daily. read more

I got my puppy here, their "warranty" is not real... I took my dog to the vet and was told he had a testicle stuck in his abdomen and needed a cryptorchid surgery, which is a hereditary condition so it would fall under their "warranty". I called Crystal and explained the situation to her and how the 5 vets I called around my area were charging no less than $200 for the surgery she argued immediately that her vet charges her $25 for that... I'm not sure who her "vet" is but the only place that charges $25 for that type of surgery is SPCA. Any reputable vet will not charge that little. We ended the conversation by her telling me she would cover the cryptorchid (in a rude and defensive manner). I called 2x and sent her 2 emails with the invoice... 3 months later and haven't heard back from her. I'm surprised these people have not been sued by now with all the complaints! read more

I bought our first yorkie from Florida Pups almost two years ago. He is just perfect. Crystal was very supportive. Prior to purchasing we communicated via FaceTime (including the puppy). This allowed us to see our future baby. We live about three hours away and (at our request) her husband met me about an hour from my house. This was very helpful. After bringing home our puppy, they stayed in touch and over two years they have appreciated receiving updates and pictures. Almost two years later, we decided we wanted to give our boy a playmate. After some looking and shopping around, we decided to go back to Crystal. We knew what were getting from Florida Pups. They did not fail. We have a beautiful female yorkie now. She is 12 weeks old. Once again, the transaction was smooth and they have stayed in touch. They are available 24 hours a day for questions or concerns (and I have called a few times). I wouldn't go anywhere else. Love my yorkie babies and it was a delight working and communicating with Crystal. They truly care about their puppies. read more

Stay away!! I got my dog Rocco there a couple of years ago and he was already 6 months old. Said that he just wasn't adopted yet. Well something must have happened to this dog because he was a nervous wreck and horrible to anybody but me. He constantly bit my children and was ALWAYS barking from Day 1. I sadly had to rehome him. It took 4 different homes before someone could handle this dog. All lies from the beginning!! Stay away. read more

Asked to take a look of the parents and she flat out said she doesn't take pictures of the parents nor has the time because it's just to difficult...OH OKAY. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! After searching for a Havanese for over a year, we purchased one from Florida Pups. Six months later our vet started telling us that this dog looks and acts nothing like a Havanese. Dog did not come with papers. However, we would expect these "dog experts" would know what kind of puppies they are selling. We have asked they pay for a DNA test for our puppy ($80). We want to know if our pup will be predisposed to any illnesses due to lineage. Joe refuses. We've asked if they did misrepresent the breed that they reimburse the $1145 paid for our puppy. FLORIDA PUPS .com are VERY Dishonest!!!! I would never refer them to anyone, My hope is that people will read reviews on google before they even think about buying from this dishonest company! I wouldn't have bought from them had I read there many bad reviews. In November 2016 I bought a $1500- TEACUP Morkie, HA ! what a joke this dog isn't even close to a TEACUP sized dog. hes a doll , I love him, of course but I paid way to much for an adorable yard dog that I could have bought from a backyard breeder for $ 4-500 I travel a lot and wanted a very small dog to take with, I believed Crystal Newman when she looked me in the eye and said OHHH he will only be 4-6 lbs! I wrote Crystal and told her how displeased I was that i was lied to and told the dog would only be 4-6 lbs fully grown , and asked for 50 % returned to me. Her reply to me was its written in the contract that they clam NO responsibility for the size fully grown , she offered me a whopping $ 150 returned to me, then never followed up. He's 5 months now and weighs 8 lbs , the Vet said he will be close to 15 lbs fully grown. When I bought him they sent me home with all these meds, for a 2-1/2 -3 lb dog. maybe it was to stunt his growth? who knows but he was a very sick pup for the 1st 2 weeks, i took him to my vet, we took him off everything and he was fine.:) Thank god my Vet had seen this all to often" brokers trying to play Doc with puppys when they have NO license to play VET BUYER Beware these people are puppy brokers and will say whatever needed to sell the puppys , and selling them as TINY TEACUP for $1000- 1500- when they don't even come close to tea cups is disgusting! they are thieves period. Floridapups is a joke. They are not honest and do all they can do show themselves as a private breeder in Florida. Crystal does not breed the puppies. Crystal does not operate with the correct license and Crystal will soon be shut down because of it. Make sure before you purchase a puppy from Floridapups.com that you ask them for their correct license to do business from their home. Florida pups is operating in Lee county without the proper license which makes you wonder about all their other business practices. Only purchase from places with proper license. I bought a puppy from Crystal and Joe Neuman of Florida Pups in September of 2017. I am a new puppy parent and was taken in by this couple. I was not allowed to see where my puppy was housed. When I arrived a bit early they asked me to leave and come back. Joe saw me with the puppy in a separate room with their kennels which you can purchase. During my meet and greet my dog started to cough. I asked about it and Joe picked the dog up and put his ear to her chest then palpated her trachea and declared her "just fine." On my way back home across the state she really started to cough. I pulled over and called them. During the course of my interaction with them I spoke with them both. I found them to be dismissive, defensive and rude. With Crystal I could not get a word in because she was yelling at me. My puppy had kennel cough and had to be kept away from other dogs and could not be vaccinated for about 2 months. Crystal said she would send her husband over to my home and he would take the puppy and give me my money back. They did pay for medications but wanted to dictate what meds my vet ordered. When they did a chest x-ray Crystal was furious stating it was negative therefore they did not need to pay for it. She was completely rude and unreasonable. I got a second opinion as the vet was working my puppy up for the lemon law here in Florida. Of course I am in love with my new puppy so this would not work. My new vet ordered testing which Crystal eventually paid for but not without a shouting match. The proper mediation was given and I sent the invoice to Crystal several times but never heard back despite repeated attempts to contact her. Owners are Crystal and Joe Neuman. When you come to see the puppy, you will meet Crystal, who is very sweet and nice. You will love the puppy. Then you are hooked. There are lots of add-ons to the price you are quoted in the internet. The final price is about double the going rate for similar pups on the internet, but too late, you are already holding the puppy, and they know you are not going home without her. This place is doing business illegally. The City of North Port has an injunction which says "the selling of dogs by the defendants at 1668 Tropicare Bvd in the City of North Port is unlawful." Crystal said she got the pups from local breeders but they actually come from an Amish Puppy Mill in Millersburg Ohio. Read the reviews on Affordable Pups, Johnstown Ohio. The dog I bought was sick when we picked her up, got worse when we got her home. If you complain after the sale, you get to talk to Joe, who is not nice at all. He knows the law better than Phidelphia Lawyer, and shouted it at me a lot. He accused me of extortion when I asked politely for a rebate to help with Vet bills. He is required by law to pay our vet bills, since the dog was sick when we bought her, but he demanded that the puppy be brought back to HIS vet in Sarasota (5 Hours away from our home) to confirm the diagnosis of our vet. BUYER BEWARE!!! Once you walk away from Florida Pups, you are on your own....Don't listen to what Crystal tells you before you buy, if you have a problem with the pup, you will get an education from Joe on how the law protects businesses in the puppy trade, even the unlicensed ones. Crystal is deceptive and superficial. We recently purchased a Havanese puppy from her. She brought us into a room alone with the puppy, which she said she does because her children get attached and she doesn't like for them to see the puppies leave. They cry. When we were leaving her daughter was sitting at the kitchen table and never gave the puppy, or us a second glance. She said was well on her way to being house trained-a complete falsehood. She goes all over herself- and left even a short time in her crate-will roll in it, smearing it everywhere. Crystal prices her puppies falsely. She puts a price on them and then once you pay the $200 hold fee online, up comes a $50 pick up fee, $20 fee for stomach meds (for the drive home), $12 fee for a small lunch baggie of food, taxes on everything- and then when you get there she does a hard sell for other items. Sadly, and worst of all, our puppy appears to of been abused. Initially, she would back away from us and retreat when we tried to play with her. Crystal was very good at convincing us that she was shy. Fortunately, with our love for her, she's slowly coming around. I would never recommend Florida Pups to anyone. read more
