OK. First of all, this is truly the BEST PT place I have ever been to (and I have been to a few!). Martin Schneckenberger, the Director, is just beyond. His portfolio of patients he has cared for is astonishing from professional athletes to Cirque de Soleil performers (yes, I am "name dropping.." but just to emphasize this guy has EXPERIENCE)!! I had both knee replacements done with Dr. Klapper at Cedar Sinai Hospital in L.A. and he directed me to him stating "He is by far the best PT guy I have ever known. My favorite." But it isn't just his vast knowledge and experience that makes his place great. The energy he brings as Director is just superb. It is a cheerful, immaculate, high energy family with a staff truly dedicated to helping people with a vast array of physical issues. From young athletes to my favorite (though intimidates me) 82 year old who had hip replacement and is a little fireball, everyone is treated with respect, support and enthusiasm. Martin also succeeds at listening politely (despite my being long winded at times and a bit whiney...) by steering you back on the right course with enthusiasm and hope. The place is state of the art. Don't let the smaller space throw you as there is not one piece of equipment missing that might help you recover from what ails you. His wife, Mabel, as Clinic Coordinator, is both charming and also very supportive and consistently cheerful. The effort put into also making it a fun expierence by decorating and having it so clean, has spilled into their setting up Halloween for Martin to be Shrek and Mabel to be Fiona. lol. Do yourself (or anyone else you know who needs help) a favor and go here first. I guarantee you won't try another. I broke my back a number of years ago and have suffered with a recurring herniated disc in my T11 vertebrae ever since. But after years of chronic pain, Davis and DeRosa was able to teach me the tools to strengthen and heal my back and I have never looked back. I broke my collarbone in January and started physical therapy at Beach Cities Orthopedic. It was very difficult getting an appointment and the feeling overall once you finally did felt dismal and depressing . Then I changed all of my appointments to Davis and Derosa and it was literall a night and day game changer. My first day was on their spirit week and everyone was wearing "Whacky Wednesday " clothes and name tags upside down etc! The vibe is so positive - exactly what you need when recovering from an injury! The girls up front ( Andrea and Kyleigh ) making the appointments are ALWAYS happy, kind, and efficient. JJ is truly the BEST physical therapist! He spends plenty of time working the muscles and increases my range of motion every time. He also is willing to work any new areas of pain that may have developed regardless of the planned schedule . He truly cares about his patients, is very knowledgeable and always positive and kind . The entire team is awesome at instructing which exercises to do and all work together. I feel badly I don't know everyone's name because they are all part of a fabulous team and family helping and supporting their patients to heal faster and feel better overall! I just completed my physical therapy at Davis and DeRosa in Hermosa Beach and I highly recommend them! I have had three knee surgeries and so I have had my share of physical therapists, and I am writing this review to let everyone know how wonderful this facility is, all the people working here, and especially the two physical therapists David and Vince, who both worked with me to heal and strengthen my knee. What can I say? Miranda (Kerbawy, DPT) is God sent. She empowered my body physically and mentally before and after my total right hip replacement surgery. She's very knowledgeable and understood my body mechanics. I was in constant pain before surgery and she managed to relieved it by conducting soft-tissue mobilization to ease the tension around my joints. Miranda guided me in strengthening specific muscles with exercises that's tailored and modified to my capabilities to increase my mobility and prevent further injury to my hip. After my surgery, she constantly updated my progress and adjusted her treatment plan according to my new bionic hip's amazing advanced healing because I followed through her exercise plan to a T. I'm afraid if I don't, she'll make me run laps on the Greenbelt. That's how confident I was in trusting her with my body. She brought life in my health again. I adore Miranda's talent to piece me back together, not sure about my head, so please don't steal her away from me. PT Aides I get to know in the last year I've been going there too. Nikki from Indianapolis puts me to work. She might look harmless and sweet, but I love it when she pushes me to break a sweat as big as grapes on steroids. Austin reminds me of my little brother. I'd feel guilty if I don't do my exercises. I mean who disappoints their little brothers? Not me. Luis left to open his own business, but he was great too. Motivates me to learn how to swim. I guess I'll continue to wear my floaties since he left. Don't get me started with front desk extraordinaire. It's a riot whenever I see the ladies- a great time that is. I've known Myriam, office manager, for years now when she used to be with Chris (another amazing PT, human being, and a dog lover) at Pacific Physical Therapy. Myriam is exceptional handling my appointments, insurance (issues, if any), and keeping me updated with openings and cancellations. Kylieigh, Mabel, and Andrea are helpful too. They all work their best to accommodate your needs. You can't help but smile when you walk in this place. Unless you're a sourpuss who hasn't been hugged by anyone since birth. What an incredible experience! I would highly recommend Davis and Derosa for any PT needs and especially their incredibly gifted new PT,DPT,OCS Eva Kervin. Suffice it to say I started getting PT from Eva 2.5weeks ago (twice a week) for groin strain/hip impingement and I truly have never felt better in years! What I notice most is how much easier I can get up and down from the floor and how much smoother it is for me when I run.....and the pain I have had for 5 months is pretty much gone! Together with Eva's innate talent and experience and D&D's excellent Techs Jennifer, Jeffrey and Terrence (I believe?) I am truly dancing on air! And of course Kayleigh, Andrea and Miryam are a pleasure to see at the front desk everytime I arrive! I love Davis and Derosa so much, I came into physical therapy with no answers after countless doctors told me they didn't know what was wrong with my hip, I finally got a referral to start here and it was they best decision I could've made. Vince has been working with me for around 2 months now and has helped and encouraged me beyond belief, he took so much time into trying to discover the root of my pain and then all the different ways to treat it, week after week he always had new ideas and talked through any and all questions or concerns I could've possibly thought of. Vince is so easy to talk to and so funny making the whole environment comfortable and a great place to be, I have never had a bad experience with him and I am so thankful for all he has done to get me ready for a full season of lacrosse. He listens to all of my rants and stories, even recommending me to what has now become my favorite tv show in the world which I couldn't thank him enough for. And along with being a great person, he is the best physical therapist who has stuck with my case long enough for me to feel so much improvement and be free of pain after what felt like forever! Also all of the staff are so kind and understanding, the workers at the front desk always have a smile on their face and are there to answer any questions in the best way possible! A few minutes after I posted my complain Christopher, Davis & Derosa's owner, called me to apologize and to offer to treat me charging only for my copayment, as if my insurance would cover the appointments. He was extremely gentle, understanding and really concerned about my situation. He also said that although mistakes happen it was his obligation to try and fix it and that was the right thing to do. As I explained to him, I didn't want to get any advantage of this situation and would accept his offer since was having a hard time to find a place available for appointments soon. I went there today for my first appointment with JJ and just loved it. He was caring and very professional. At the end, the recepcionist didn't let me pay for the appointment saying Christopher oriented that the first 4 appointments would be free, charging the copayments after that. I'm really touched for the way he conducted the situation, and optimistic with my treatment with JJ. Thank you!! read more
