This upscale neighborhood is quiet and family-friendly. Diamond Head Park is two acres and is open daily from sunrise to sunset. I found the park to be clean and well-maintained. Amenities include a basketball court, a shade-covered playground, benches, a picnic table, a racquetball court, and a paved walkway, which I enjoyed using for exercise. While I walked through the park, children were riding bikes and making use of the playground. There is a large open area for play and picnics, and the shade provided by the trees was a welcome relief from the sun.

Sandalfoot Cove Park is located in the Sandalfoot community and it is 11.83 acres. It has two lighted baseball fields, one multipurpose field, restrooms, and a small playground. There is a paved exercise path that runs around the perimeter of the park. This is primarily a sports park. The main reason you would come here is to take your kids to participate in team sports like little league. The park was filled with the cutest kids learning how to play tee-ball. Like all of the parks in this area, the park is very nicely landscaped and maintained.

It was named in honor of Pompano Beach Commissioner George Brummer who was elected in June of 2003. He was the successor to his friend, the late Vice Mayor Herb Skolnick, who served three decades. Brummer was well known and liked in Palm Aire where he served as President of the Civic Association. He was the one to suggest the creation of a park for Palm Aire. At the opening of the park George Brummer was praised for his leadership in both business and community issues and he was recognized as a champion for the Palm Aire community. At the dedication Brummer said he wanted people to use and enjoy the park. George Brummer Park was designed to appeal to all ages from youth to seniors. Park amenities include six popular pickle ball courts, restrooms, large shade covered playground, benches, tennis courts, basketball court, bocce ball, handball, and outdoor exercise equipment. While I was visiting there was a children's birthday party and people were playing basketball. I was actually kind of surprised at how many people were using the park given the heat index. A lot of the people in Palm Aire live in multi story condo units and this is the only outdoor recreation area they have. Fortunately the park is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The City of Pompano did a great job exceeding Brummer's vision for a recreational area that the residents of Palm Aire can enjoy for years to come.

Spread out over six acres, this park has an exercise trail running around the perimeter of the park, a fenced in basic playground with climbing structures, slide, and swings, basketball courts, picnic pavilions with tables and grills, 2 tennis courts, sand volleyball court, and open area for play. Every neighborhood in Coral Springs has a park. I discovered this one while running errands in the nearby Royal Eagle Plaza. The park was the perfect place to walk around and get some fresh air after Ian had passed although parts of the walking trail were under water and a lot of palm fronds were down. This is a very nice place to take the kids to walk, play, have a picnic, or exercise on one of the athletic courts.

I was nearby and looking to take advantage of the extra hour of sunlight to get steps in. I came upon this park and stopped to check it out. There are several parks in the Crystal Heights neighborhood including north, central and south. This park is 1.55 acres and what sets it apart is the really nice playground that opened in May of 2025. The city held meetings with the public to get their input to create a space for the community children. The star is the multistory climbing structure that takes you to the top of a steep slide. There are also swings and covered play equipment. The large open space makes this park ideal for gatherings. One of the city programs held in the park is All That Jazz, a free Friday night concert held on select Fridays at sites throughout Deerfield Beach. The next one is March 13th at Pastor Willie James Ford, Sr. Linear Park. Crystal Heights Park and Playground is a simple but enjoyable community park. With its peaceful vibe it is a clean, quiet, and not overly crowded recreational space for play and relaxing.

Even on busier days it's not packed and easy to run. There is adequate parking, exercise stations at the beginning and picnic tables. I run here often at all times of the day and have never had a problem; but, lighting could be better in the back of the park. There are a few areas (near the canal and the turn near the trees) that are a little dark so I usually avoid them if running at night and stay towards the front of the park.

I find it kind of ironic that they named a park after him with a jogging trail which was the thing that killed him but there you go. Mr. Diaz was a proponent of keeping development in check and fostering a sense of community in Coral Springs. This is a great neighborhood park if you are looking to get exercise. It doesn't have a kids playground like traditional neighborhood parks. Instead it has an outdoor gym area and the one mile aforementioned gravel walking/ jogging path. It folds in on itself as you go around. My favorite part of the path is the part that runs parallel to a canal in the back. I saw turtles, ducks and a egret back there. I had a lovely stroll there on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great place to get the body moving and to clear your mind in the fresh air.

The park also features shade trees, benches, a picnic table, and open space. However, there is no dedicated parking or restroom facilities. An important point to note is that the park is not fenced in, so you'll need to keep an eye on children to ensure they don't wander off. It ended up being the perfect place to sit for a few minutes while I planned my next destination. If you're looking for a park to take a nature hike consider nearby Jerry Morgan Park.
