This one is by far the best. It's well maintained and VERY clean; both out on the floor and in the locker room. The other members are well educated, friendly, and courteous when lifting weights/doing cardio's. Rarely do you hear grunts, groans and dropping weights. The front counter staff are friendly; both coming and going. The trainers are professional and know what they're doing. I like this facility. How often do I go; 7/7 (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas)

I was a longtime member at FIT (~ 10 years), I was a member at La Jolla Lifetime, Broadway Athletic club, among others. It's $245 per month and doesn't at least have a wet/dry sauna combo. It only has a wet sauna. Maybe I'm being spoiled, but no dry sauna, no outdoor area, no cold plunge, no pool/hot tub... plus the showers are absolutely tiny. I'm only 5'8" and I feel like I'm back in the Navy with these tiny showers. The weight area is also very small. My point is, I feel like this is the lowest of all the premium gyms in San Diego. If a FIT or a LIFETIME opened in La Costa I would likely switch instantly.

Carlsbad kickboxing club is an amazing combat gym in a great location in Carlsbad near the beach…read moreand downtown area. Pros: I have been at this gym for over 3 years and the things that keep me here are the coaches and the consistent people who train here. The coaches are very knowledgeable and experienced in boxing and Muay Thai and spend time to really help any one of all levels. If you're new or experienced, you will be able to get a great workout and practice in, building your skills whether you plan to compete in the ring or learn for self defense. They have a great weight room here that has everything you need to get a great lift in. Free weights range up to 100lb dumbbells and plenty of bars for squats, bench, deadlifts and stationary cardio treadmills and bikes. They have 3 bathrooms as well as a sauna for higher paying members. The staff behind the desk are also very helpful and friendly! Cons: Since I started here at the gym, prices were very reasonable ranging from $120 - $160 depending on if you do a year contract ($120 ish), 6 month contract ($140 ish), or month to month ($160ish). Note that prices may have changed since I've started but if you obviously plan to stay, definitely do the year contract to get the best bang for your buck and plan to come in at least 3 times a week to get your moneys worth. They offer private lessons too but can range from $90-$100 a session depending on if you buy a single session or a bundle. They are amazing ways to learn even more than you would in class but aren't always for everyone. Verdict: This gym is a great boxing and Muay Thai gym with plenty of options for beginners to experienced fighters. Go here if you live nearby!

We started off aligning on goals for BMI, strength, physique, nutrition (which I reached ahead of my wedding date thanks to Andrea!). Each training session was custom according to my and my husband's needs and mobility (per the FMS method). As we progressed Andrea tweaked the sessions accordingly, which kept workouts interesting and at the right level of difficulty. Andrea taught us tons about long-term health, nutrition and fitness that I am using in my day-to-day. Turning these habits into a new lifestyle has been the best takeaway from this experience. It was always a dream of mine to work with a personal trainer. And now I can confidently say that the sessions and results with Andrea are just as good as I imagined.

I came to her after doing a short stint in CrossFit, where I was struggling with hip pain and unable to keep up with the high volume of squats. My goal was to focus on strength training and building muscle. From day one, Andrea really listened and tailored our sessions to focus on building strength and muscle without aggravating my hip. Andrea is incredibly attentive to form, always making sure I'm moving safely and effectively which is a huge priority for me. I continue to progress in building up my strength and I feel stronger and more confident in my body than I have in years--I've lost body fat, gained muscle, and feel like I'm truly training with intention now. Andrea helped me with nutritional guidance, including dialing in my macros to make sure I'm fueling properly to support muscle growth. She also gives me home workouts so I can stay consistent and keep progressing even on days we're not training together. Andrea balances listening to what I want while also pushing me just the right amount. She is knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in her clients' success. I'm so glad I found her!

I found NCSA online and reached out to Paul to see what hosting a party with him and his team would look like. I didn't know where to start besides offering up if he had any ideas for kids birthday parties. The whole process of planning the party with Paul was seamless. He was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the entire planning process and was flexible with me when more and more kids were RSVPing yes to the party! He ended up securing three coaches including himself to oversee the wiffle ball, soccer and basketball stations. We had 30 kids at the party and all the kids had a blast! We received really positive feedback from the parents on how well organized and unique the party was to have the coaches there teaching the kids new skills while playing games and scrimmages. I would 100% recommend working with Paul and his team for future birthdays and will definitely sign up for the camps NCSA offers during the summer break!

This one's hidden like a secret boss level in an industrial park. But surprise! It's got a 2nd floor outdoor view that slaps... like Mother Nature decided to flex on your cardio session!! It was so breathtaking I had to catch my breath in between stretching!! Not your cookie-cutter EoS, which is refreshing. The downside? Only 2 racks, layout is a bit cramped. No Cryo Lounge. So, for post workout recovery? Ehhh... you'll have to settle for compression boots and massage chairs, which is still nice but basically, the spa equivalent of a firm handshake instead of a warm hug. They have some wild equipment there on an outdoor astroturf area like a wheeled and weighted pushcart for legs and lower-back and a giant monster-truck tire you could hit with a sledgehammer. In other parts of the country, those things would be considered a job and not something to do at the gym, but ok. One complaint I have is that they strangely had no abdominal machines but one small decline bench hidden under a stairway. I would give them more stars if they extended their free 7-Day Pass promotion to non-residents like me.

The staff in the pro shop were very friendly. Shout out to Doug for taking care of us. The shop is stocked with all the latest and greatest paddles, clothing and accessories. There were 7 pickleball courts available for open play during our visit. We played on the 4 courts in front of the pro shop. 2 courts per fenced area with no divider between the courts. Balls will roll onto your court during play, but you knew that anyway. The courts were in great shape as well as the nets. There's covered/shaded seating in this area as you wait for your next game. All the players we played with were very friendly and helpful with explaining how to paddle in for the next game. I hope they're able to open more courts in the future. There is only a small dedicated lot and street parking. It doesn't help that people camp out in the lot waiting for a spot which blocks the flow of traffic. But parking on the street wasn't too difficult. Check in for open play is in the pro shop which has an excellent variety of all things pickleball including paddles that you can demo for $10. You also need to pay then and there (I wish there was a way to sign up online). It looks like the facility is being remodeled so there were only 4 courts near the pro shop for more advanced, then 2 courts for intermediate. The courts are in very good condition with wind screens and convenient rest areas in the middle. Altogether I had a pretty good time and everyone I encountered was friendly.
