We ordered a smoked whole 20# turkey for Thanksgiving. Picked it up on Wednesday and heated for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was beautifully done, delicious and moist. All the way from Chicago, I visit the area frequently to see family. I refuse to leave until we have made a pilgrimage to Paul Gant's BBQ (not that it takes any coercion!) Some of the best BBQ you'll have. The ribs are amazing, pulled pork and smoked chicken are good choices if ribs aren't your thing, and you definitely won't go hungry. These aren't little wimpy ribs, four or five of the and you'll be plenty full. This little joint doesn't look like much; they put all their effort into their BBQ. We stopped here on our way out of town Saturday. We found the recommendation on one of the vacation home rental sites (http://www.cathyscapesanblasvacation.com/) free plug for a great recommendation. What a find! We tried the HungryMan (3 meats and 2 sides) and an extra Boston Butt sandwich - with collard greens and potatoe salad for the sides. Everything was very good - the pulled pork was tasty and moist, and when the sauce was added made for an excellent sandwich. I really liked the seasoning on the chicken. The ribs were devoured in two shakes - they were quite tasty as well. My wife couldn't stop praising the greens. The potatoe salad was of the sweeter style - while not my favorite, it too was all gone in short order. The HungryMan also comes with a couple of slices of bread, so you can make a sandwich, or just sop... We also got an order of the peach cobbler - it is a steal at $1.00! The doughy type of crust I remember from Scout campouts - my favorite! When we drove up, we were thrid in line to order. When we left there were 6 or 7 vehicles in the parking area. Great BBQ! We split Boston butt, dark meat chicken, collards, baked beans, potato salad, and cole slaw. I'm considering going back to try the ribs before we leave town. :) My wife and I try to sample the local BBQ place in any southern town we visit. We were more than satisfied with Paul Gant's. Just make sure you go when they're open! (Thu-Sat) Individually, in my subjective opinion: 5/5 Butt (Our 2-year-old was eating fist fulls!) 5/5 Chicken 5/5 Collards 4/5 Beans 3/5 Potato Salad (Good if you like it mild. I prefer a more zesty, mustard taste.) 5/5 Cole slaw (Possibly the best I've had.) 6/5 Butt + Cole slaw together - so good. We'll definitely be back. Saw the hungry man meal online. Went there and it was on the menu, got up to the window and they said they don't offer it. (Ok..then maybe take it off the menu). Ordered Collard greens from the menu, but was told they don't have it. Ordered a rib plate and a 1/2 chicken plate. Ordered coleslaw got home and got potato salad. Ribs were fall off the bone good.
