It's a road side raw bar. It's a locals favorite. Check which oysters are served before ordering raw; I do not recommend Louisiana oysters as they're large, but not as tasty as Apalachicola. It's messy and casual. The servers are friendly and the beers are served with an honesty policy (track how many drinks you enjoy honestly). I absolutely love their stuffed shrimp! When you walk in you are greeted and we were told sit where you want. Drinks are self serve and honor system- you fill out the orange card and turn it in when you check out. They have bottled and canned and draft beer and wine plus soft drinks and bottled water. For food we got I got the smoked fish dip with crackers. I got stuffed shrimp that comes with to die for garlic bread. Honestly I could have just eaten the bread. I also ordered cheese grits and they were very good. I could've just eaten the bread and grits but all the food was tasty. My hubby got the crab legs that comes with corn. There are large family sized tables with paper towels and very hot sauce you can imagine. There is also bar seating available. There is outdoor seating during the warmer months. Great historic building and location not far from Apalachicola. We've been several times over the years and the food is okay but not outstanding. This visit we had the seafood gumbo which was small and tasty but lacked much identifiable seafood. Wow! I can't recommend this place enough! Wait a cool spot with some great food! It starts with a long wait outside cause this place is so busy, because it's good! But it's super easy to grab a cold drink. You walk inside go to the cooler and grab what you want grab a paper and start your own tab. Terrible. Shrimp was way overcooked. Burger, for the person that doesn't eat seafood, was frozen meat. Service was horrific which to be honest there are no servers just runners. When asked for a second cocktail sauce for the table of nine someone had to go find one because the "server" didn't bring one back. After she brought the food she did not come back. She did not bring two appetizers that we ordered but at checkout she lied and said she brought them to the table. Do yourself and your family a favor and buy some steamed shrimp from the market and eat at home. This place is not worth your time and money. read more

This place is so amazing !!! We went there while on vacation in Mexico Beach. It is off the beaten path. But well worth the visit. We had baked oysters and steamed shrimp. It was delicious. The server gave us some history about the pass and some information about the area. She was awesome. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. Great place to take a day trip and explore the area. Indian Pass is a unique bar. You fill out a card for your food and drinks. You keep track of what you drink on the card. The drinks all come in cans or bottles and you get them your self out of the coolers. It's an honor system. We had our 2 golden doodles with us and sat on the screened in patio that is pet friendly. I had the BBQ sandwich with slaw and fries. The garlic pickles on it was the best. My husband had the shrimp in the garlic butter. The dinner was great. We also had the strawberry cheesecake, that was a disappointment. It was from a box and only had a strawberry glaze on it and cake in the middle. We went for a girls trip quick dinner and had the best time!! The track what you drink yourself philosophy is so fun and 1000% convenient as there's no wait when you're helping yourself. Our wait was longer because of the high demand of the place but the atmosphere was so fun we just drank and chat and had the best time. We were excited when our table was ready and quickly ordered a ton. And as soon as we turned in our order it quickly started to show up. We all got gumbo which was phenomenal. Then the oysters were a huge hit with us all, with great horseradish. One of our party got crab legs which she raved about. The corn on the cob that came with it were so tasty. We also shared the stuffed shrimp which came hot and buttery with a big slice of bread. They were one of my favorite bites of the evening. And then to top it off we had their homemade key lime pie which was one of the best I've had! Courtney and Kelly made our experience so fun and memorable, along with the other staff. I've always said you can't judge a book by it's cover. This place is one of those, the food was excellent. Mahi fish dip, a large portion, was fresh. The grilled shrimp was EXCELLENT!! Well to start off, there were no organization in tables, so we got to pick our own *which can lead to arguements and stuff.* and you have to get ur drinks urself. Also, u have to fill out a sheet of what u want, and u have to find a lady/man walking or smth to give it to her/him. Food was ok, could've been better. I had the chicken tenders, they weren't that good. Burgers r good, oysters were fine, but they were not on ice, so they didn't taste the best. Shrimp was ok, and with the corn on top was fine. Well, they had a nice venue. Easy to find, on the road from St. Joe to Appalachicola. There was a little line, so we perused the shirts. They have a lot of nice t-shirts. We had a variety of dishes. I had stuffed shrimp, which were a little small. Stuffing was good, but whole dish came in a pan of melted butter 1 inch deep. No joke. Swimming. Baked oysters were fine. If you've been to Indian Pass on Cape San Blas you know there are, with one exception, no restaurants out here once you head east at the curve where 30E splits off to the west. In fact there's nothing except woods, beaches and beach houses. That one restaurant exception is the Indian Pass Raw Bar. Planning our trip from Pensacola to Turtle Beach Inn on a Sunday afternoon in such a way as to hit an open raw bar for a late lunch on the way we decided on IPRB. On this remote stretch of island on a Sunday in late October you can imagine our confusion and surprise as we approached the store to find both sides of the road lined bumper to bumper with hundreds of vehicles. What? Out here? At a raw bar? You kidding me? Turns out there was a songwriters and singers festival in progress on a stage outside the store. Amazingly someone was pulling out in the small parking lot and I so took the spot as Miss Anne went inside to see about a table. I was astonished when she said it was doable though it might be a few minutes. As we entered, however, there were stools open at the raw bar and so we opted for that, being seated immediately. If you're a fan of the dive oyster bar this unique joint is your cup of tea. The menu hangs above the bar and you order by checking the boxes on your scorecard (see pic). You serve yourself beverages by retrieving bottles or cans of beer or I guess soda as well from the grocery store type glass front cooler cases. There are also several wine offerings in the cooler cases. Or you can pour yourself a 12oz cup of beer from one of the six or so taps on the wall next to the refrigerated cases. Just check the bottles and pours you choose on your scorecard. It will be tallied at the register when you go to pay. One particular thing I love about this joint is the simplicity of the menu. Everything here is either broiled or steamed in the broilers and steamers lined against the wall behind the bar, at the end of which oysters are being shucked in constant, steady cadence. We started with two dozen raw. Today, from Cedar Key, FL. Oyster Nirvana. The brine was as God created it to be back "In the beginning". Perfectly salty and flavorful. The ousters were followed by a dozen stuffed shrimp. These are butterflied shrimp "stuffed" with a spoonful of tasty crabmeat dressing, doused in butter and broiled. Pro tip: If they're doing these when you're here don't pass 'em up. We finished with a dozen of the oysters broiled with parmesan, garlic and butter. Once again, perfection. The oysters were perfectly rendered, plump and juicy, topped by a crispy parmesan crust. This, like the stuffed shrimp, is served with buttered and broiled Texas toast with which to sop up the savory butter sauce. Emily manned the broilers and the steamers today. The store was slammed but she was cool as a cucumber as she prepped, steamed or broiled, and plated one order after another in relentless succession. She never missed a beat pulling broiled oysters and shrimp, steamed shrimp and crab legs, etc. from the cookers at precisely the right moment; never overcooking anything. She totally owns that scene. read more

The steamed shrimp is very good. The raw oysters were bland. I'm pretty sure they are not local, though I am not sure there is any local harvesting here anymore. I ordered a piece of cheesecake, which was not very good, and it was frozen hard as I rock and tasted like it came right off of a Sysco food truck. The key lime pie is better, but of course it is also prepackaged. The worst part of the experience was having to watch the guy shucking oysters constantly eat the oysters. He was eating nonstop, like he was starving to death and constantly wiping his mouth with his arm and talking with his mouth full like a savage. It was not appetizing. If you have to wait for outside for a table, you will be eaten alive by all of the bugs. However, he ambience INSIDE is nice. If you go, 1) eat inside and 2) order the shrimp. While visiting the area we stopped here to eat based on recommendations from a friend. Let me tell you - we will be back! Oh my gosh the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. My only feedback is on the food is related to the burger - it was over cooked and just blah, however we were there for the shrimp and oysters so that does not sway my rating. Service was good. At first I was a little lost and confused on how to order and what to do. No one takes your order they give you a slip of paper with the available items listed and you mark how many of each you want and take it to the cook. The place is small but they do have outside seating. We went just before 2:00 so we only waited 15 minutes or so to be seated. When you are put on the list they give you a paper to track whatever you take from the cooler and they ring you up at the end. We ordered the baked oysters, peel and eat shrimp and stuffed shrimp. We ate almost every bite of our food. The food was oozing with flavor and freshness. We will be back in the area in June and already talking about going back. read more

One of our favorite places to go when we are visiting Cape San Blas. Love the laid back ambiance and efficient service. Help yourself to drinks in the cooler or from the draft and mark them on your card. If there is a wait, take your drink out to the patio in front and enjoy while you wait your turn. The baked oysters and fish dip are are go tos. Large oysters baked with parmesan cheese. Top with a variety of hot sauces that are at the table. The gumbo is also delicious. Never had anything bad here. They also have televisions which typically play sports and a large selection of t-shirts. You can also purchase the hot sauces to go. We have been twice this week and left both times with full, happy tummies and an order of fish dip to enjoy later.
