I went to Dr. Chmiel and within 15 min I had my diagnosis. Using a scope up my nose and down my throat which took 5 min in office, he showed me the video of the scoping. He showed me my septal bone spur, which caused pus to drip from my sinus down my throat, which caused my throat pain. Dr. Chmiel never pushed surgery. He advised I think about it. I said I wanted the surgery. So off to a CT scan so he could see my sinuses. Good thing I did because he found more things- enlarged adenoids and a polyp in one of my sinus cavities. I said I still wanted surgery and managed to get a date in two weeks. Dr. Chmiel removed my septal bone spur ( that's what's in the photo), removed my adenoids, and roto rooted out the polyp. I had no pain, no visible swelling. The follow ups were the day after, then one week. I found Dr. Chmiel attentive, answered all of my questions, and had a good sense of humor. If you need a septal bone spur chiseled out, Dr. Chmiel's your guy!!! The staff was great too!

I went to see her for the first time a year ago and she was amazing. She explained without being condescending. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She calls with test results herself. And she personally calls at times you wouldn't expect to hear from a doctor, to answer questions I asked about. She gives honest and good advice and makes suggestions for what the primary can do and what she can do. The best possible referral I can give about her... I absolutely panicked at the thought she might retire!! Where would I go and how could I possibly find another doctor like her? So if you're looking for an ENT I strongly suggest making an appointment with Dr Robin Miller.

I explained that I have been experiencing ongoing ear issues related to flying for years, along with sinus-related symptoms that have been affecting how I've been feeling overall for the past 3 or so months. After a very brief exam and hearing test that lasted only a few minutes, Dr. Paolini concluded that there was nothing wrong. When I specifically asked about possible sinus issues--which is the primary reason I scheduled the appointment in the first place and what several others had suggested could be causing my symptoms--my concerns were largely dismissed. I left feeling like my questions were never seriously addressed. The office seemed more focused on moving patients through as quickly as possible rather than taking the time to fully evaluate individual concerns. The only treatment prescribed was Amoxicillin, despite the fact that I had already completed a course of the same medication just a few weeks earlier. That information was already in my medical history. Dr. Paolini also suggested that my symptoms could be related to medications I am currently taking, but there was little discussion or explanation beyond that comment. Instead of feeling heard, I felt rushed and dismissed. Overall, this appointment was a complete waste of my time and did not provide any meaningful answers or solutions. I would not recommend Dr. Paolini based on my experience. Patients deserve to be listened to, especially when seeking help for chronic issues that have been ongoing for years.

But we signed in as one would normally do in a doctor's office, and then sat down waiting to be called. After about 45 minutes of sitting there patiently, the lady behind the glass counter realized that we were there, and our name was on the sign in sheet. Instead of apologizing for the long wait, she told us that we couldn't be seen because we were late. If this is their policy, then I understand. However, if this is their policy, why leave someone to sit for 45 minutes before telling them to go home? My guess is she probably never saw our name on the sign-in sheet and if she (the front office) admits to not fully doing their job (checking the sign-in sheet), then I guess that wouldn't look good on her performance. The lady behind the counter gave me the impression that this office absolutely does not care about their patients, and lacks professionalism. Personally, I do not like being treated in this manner, and I definitely would NOT go back here again.

They were probably just late and then made to wait!' and I booked a 'new patient' appointment anyhow. I went on the office's website and filled out all of the patient forms, too, to save time. And I made a point of asking the receptionist on the phone if it'd be a 'quick visit' and she assured me...after a long pause... that I'd be in out in less than an hour. Great. First visit - I arrived on time. The tiny waiting room was PACKED with people. It was freezing cold in there, and the TV was blaring. The sliding 'windows' to the receptionist area were closed. Either they are freezing and have under-desk space heaters and have the windows shut to avoid the cold air from the waiting room, or they have the windows shut to deter having to talk to patients. Or both. I stood there for several minutes, with three distinct shadows being present in the reception area - no one opened the window until I had been standing there for 5 minutes. Now we're 5 minutes past my appointment time. The receptionist gave me a clipboard with patient forms to completed. I began them, then realized: 'Hey, these look familiar, I did these online and submitted them last week.' So I just wrote 'completed online' for a lot of the blanks, then handed in the clipboard. The receptionist said she 'did not have access to the portal' so I'd have to fill them out. What? Why? Now it is 20 minutes past my appointment time, and I've finished the forms and handed them in. I looked around the waiting room: all of the same people from when I arrived. I wanted to ask them their appointment times, but stopped myself. When it was 45 minutes past my appointment time, I walked up to reception again and asked how long it would be. I was told: 'No idea, it's out of my hands once I check you in!' I sat down for another 15 minutes, then walked up to the reception area again and said that I'd need to reschedule. I had been waiting ONE HOUR. My time is valuable, and I don't at all trust a doctor if his office isn't even run efficiently. You know how patients are charged a 'no-show' fee if they don't cancel a medical appointment within 24 hours? I wish we could charge doctors' offices $50 for every 15 minutes that we aren't seen. I could have made $200. Anyhow: between the bad reviews, the double form-filling-out, the 'closed-off' reception area, the loud TV, and the hour-plus wait: DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! I admit it: I was curious, and wanted to stick around just to see what time I'd actually be seen, and if this doctor was 'worth the wait.' But like most adults: I have other things to attend to. I can't sit around a waiting room indefinitely. I am going to keep my rescheduled appointment, but I'm going to be a no-show. I doubt they'd even notice. Hopefully me 'missing' my appointment will allow other people to have to wait less.

He was considerate and concerned and thorough. I recommend this otolaryngologist to anyone who requires this type of medical attention.
