I went to see her for the first time a year ago and she was amazing. She explained without being condescending. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She calls with test results herself. And she personally calls at times you wouldn't expect to hear from a doctor, to answer questions I asked about. She gives honest and good advice and makes suggestions for what the primary can do and what she can do. The best possible referral I can give about her... I absolutely panicked at the thought she might retire!! Where would I go and how could I possibly find another doctor like her? But we signed in as one would normally do in a doctor's office, and then sat down waiting to be called. After about 45 minutes of sitting there patiently, the lady behind the glass counter realized that we were there, and our name was on the sign in sheet. Instead of apologizing for the long wait, she told us that we couldn't be seen because we were late. If this is their policy, then I understand. However, if this is their policy, why leave someone to sit for 45 minutes before telling them to go home? My guess is she probably never saw our name on the sign-in sheet and if she (the front office) admits to not fully doing their job (checking the sign-in sheet), then I guess that wouldn't look good on her performance. The lady behind the counter gave me the impression that this office absolutely does not care about their patients, and lacks professionalism. Personally, I do not like being treated in this manner, and I definitely would NOT go back here again.

Prequel - I had one surgery, at a hospital, a year before being made to come here for an unrelated…read moresurgery. For the hospital surgery: no food or water after midnight, be at the hospital at 6am, surgery at 7am. Everything was wonderful. That's what I was expecting would happen here, but what happened here was a nightmare. Issue #1 - They don't tell you what time your surgery is scheduled for - ever. They will text you the day before to tell you what time to BE there, but they do not tell you what time your surgery is scheduled to take place. Issue #2 - They require that you have someone with you, to drive you home afterward; this is understandable but without that person knowing what time your surgery is and what time you're expected to be discharged: they're expected to clear a whole day to be available for a surgery that may only take a half hour. Issue #3 - The 'no food or water after midnight' rule is outdated and untrue. The American Society of Anesthesiologists issued guidelines in 1999, 2011, & 2017 that patients may have clear liquids up to 2 hours before surgery. The old guidelines/rules were invented in the 1950s when pregnant patients were 'anesthetized' with ether on a mask, which caused nausea and for the patient to vomit up their stomach contents. Today, an endotracheal tube is used to prevent this from occurring, so liquids should be allowed up to 2 hours prior to surgery. Issue #4 - Snarky Nurse. I pressed the 'call' button to ask a question - just one question - and I heard her say: 'Ugh, this girl is gonna keep my on my toes!' (Sorry, nurse, to have interrupted your wedding planning conversation to ask you a question, which the intake nurse said I was more than welcome to do as often as I liked. But I've been sitting in a curtained-off room for two and a half hours and no one has given me an update aside from 'It'll be about 45 minutes to an hour until your surgery' - and that was at Noon. It's now 2:30pm, I'm thirsty as hell because I haven't had any water for nearly 13 hours, and I have jack sh*t to do because I was told to not bring any books/phones/valuables - which I suppose is good because I saw some Google reviews where patients woke up to find some of their valuables 'missing'). Issue #5 - The attempted to gaslight me, and offered me unnecessary medication. After I asked: 'How much longer until my surgery?' the Snarky Nurse went and got the anesthesiologist's 'helper / #2 man' who came into my 'room' and told me: 'You're anxious.' I informed him that I was NOT anxious, just irritated that it has been nearly 3 hours since I was checked-in and no one will tell me what time my surgery is going to take place. I had spoken to him earlier, because everyone involved in your care that day will come over and introduce themselves, and that had been the only time I had spoken to him - and I was not anxious then, either. Now, he had no other reason to think otherwise - aside from Snarky Nurse, who likely did not want to 'deal' with me after my one very-normal question. He briefly disappeared, then returned and offered me 'some of the pre-surgery sedation medication to calm you down.' I told him - again - that I was not anxious; that I was mad about the wait time, frustrated about being so thirsty for the past 13 hours, and had no interest in receiving any 'shut up drugs' for simply asking what time my surgery was going to take place. Issue #6 - Overall Wait Time. I waited nearly FOUR HOURS to be taken back to surgery. That's 16 hours of no water, for a person who dehydrates quite easily. Absolutely unacceptable. Issue #7 - Billing. I was required to pre-pay for the surgery, which I did. The young lady I spoke to informed me that I would not receive any further bills or charges from this Center. Months after my surgery, I received a bill for 'anesthesia services' for over $200. This qualifies as a 'Surprise Medical Bill' which I believe violates the 'No Surprises Act' which went into effect on January 1, 2022. And I did report it as such. Issues I've Found by Others - one Google user claims to have gotten a staph infection from this Center. Several Google users have stated that their surgeries were cancelled on them. A couple of Google reviewers stated that they were over-charged by this Center. One person stated that they were man-handled by a nurse after being woken up from anesthesia on the very spot that he had just been operated on. One Last Note - A Boomer-aged woman who works there was having computer issues and was on speakerphone with an IT guy and she kept shouting into the phone: 'IS MY PASSWORD STILL CATHOLIC HEALTH 4 ?!?' Every patient in the pre-op area now knows her password. A password to a computer, within a medical network of computers, that very likely collectively contain the private medical information of many patients. Probably not the smartest thing to be shouting over & over again, when everyone on the floor can hear it.

I went to Dr. Chmiel's practice on the recommendation of a co-worker. I went for throat pain I'd…read morehad for a year. I had had a sonogram and nothing was found. I went to Dr. Chmiel and within 15 min I had my diagnosis. Using a scope up my nose and down my throat which took 5 min in office, he showed me the video of the scoping. He showed me my septal bone spur, which caused pus to drip from my sinus down my throat, which caused my throat pain. Dr. Chmiel never pushed surgery. He advised I think about it. I said I wanted the surgery. So off to a CT scan so he could see my sinuses. Good thing I did because he found more things- enlarged adenoids and a polyp in one of my sinus cavities. I said I still wanted surgery and managed to get a date in two weeks. Dr. Chmiel removed my septal bone spur ( that's what's in the photo), removed my adenoids, and roto rooted out the polyp. I had no pain, no visible swelling. The follow ups were the day after, then one week. I found Dr. Chmiel attentive, answered all of my questions, and had a good sense of humor. If you need a septal bone spur chiseled out, Dr. Chmiel's your guy!!! The staff was great too!

I was practically living on antibiotics. I demanded a referral here as they also have immunologists. I just knew something else was wrong with me but I didn't know what! Then I met Christina Long here and after discussing everything, she suggested it may be migraines .. that 80% of migraines are misdiagnosed as sinus infections! She did still do testing on me though to rule anything else out. My tests were normal and she referred me to dent for my migraines but also prescribed a different nose spray than the other doctors have. The combination of the new nose spray and the migraine treatment I now receive has completely changed the quality of my life! I cannot believe it took 10 years for someone to tell me this is migraines! I went an entire year without antibiotics which was incredible to me! I am forever indebted to PA Christina Long for changing my life so quickly and truly listening to me.

The reply is always the same "name, sign the pad" if you don't like people that's fine, just get another job. 2. I'm an existing patient. I came in for my allergy shot. When I got called for my shot I was asked by the tech- "how are you?" I briefly explained- bad, my dad is in the hospital. Been a tough couple days. I said "I know I'm here for my allergy shot but I have a history of sinus infections and my ear has been bothering me. Can someone take a quick look so I don't end up at urgent care this weekend- I just have too much going on for that to happen." They absolutely refused. I was told to make an appointment with my primary- mind you it's Friday. Was told we only have two providers on staff. OK, so I have to wait 20 minutes after my allergy shot before I leave and they can't/ won't take 2 minutes to look at my ear. That's an F- for compassion, and an F- for quality care

Almost every visit requires 30-45 minutes in waiting room. Whether you're alone in that waiting…read moreroom or there are other patients, there is no difference, you will most likely be waiting. The last visit I got up after waiting 35 minutes without being seen. The only reason this visit on 01/25/2024 occurred is because on 12/14/2023 I waited 45 minutes without being seen. Doctor and assistants panicked and decided to drop everything to see me when I decided to walk this last time. I was polite and upfront with the issue and they did not care for it. Doctor, receptionist and assistants all tried to argue with me yet half of them didn't even know why the appointment was rescheduled in the first place. It was embarrassing to hear the excuses. Not professional whatsoever. Never returning.
