Had an Instacart order here yesterday, for some reason the transaction doesn't go through, so we ask for a manager & proceed to step to the side so we can figure out what's going on. The lady that came over to "help" was very nasty and rude (don't know her name but she was old, wore glasses, & she had gray hair that was mid back length that was bluntly cut). By the end of our conversation she calls someone on us, tells him she's ready to tell us "get the fuck out the store". Overall experience was a 0/10, will NEVER go here again that's completely out of line read more

This is a really nice Kroger located in Holiday Manor right off of Watterson Expressway. My family lives out this way so I frequent the Kroger a lot when I'm visiting them. This Kroger location desperately needs an update and thorough cleaning. They are consistently out of stock on many items that other locations carry. With the tremendous amount of construction taking place in this area, literally across the street, a massive new Veterans Hospital, doctors offices, expanded Thornton food and gas facility, and a new Rainbow Blossom Natural Foods, you would think that the Kroger Corporate Office would take notice and do something. read more

Consistently out of stock on basic items (saltines, pasta, grapes, powdered sugar-- just this trip). Outside of Louisville the shelves are stocked-why bare here? Are there supervisors any more? Empty boxes in every display and cold case. One aisle had them piled on the floor. Employees standing around laughing, yelling political commentary at each other (regarding masks while their own company is announcing that they advise even vaxxed shoppers to wear masks). One cashier open at 8:00pm,& the bagger walks away as you approach so you get to bag your own groceries. Entire sections are EMPTY: salads, pasta, crackers, frozen potatoes, etc. Rotten lettuce bags on the shelves, dripping brown liquid (see pic) It started in 2019 when items that separated Kroger from any grocery store started disappearing from the shelves: private selection freshly baked breads were replaced by the LaBrea that TARGET carries, no more ham shanks, etc. Quality control is WAY off on chicken salad that used to be amazing, fried chicken that used to be better than anywhere in town. Wouldn't it make sense to pay fewer employees better than to employee a host of warm bodies that do a 10% job? You have driven off this lifelong shopper,& MANY more like me. Each time I'm in this Kroger I am impressed by it. It recently went through a remodel, and the result is a very large, clean store with lots of delicious goods. And my favorite part: The expansive ready-to-eat section! This is anchored by Eli's BBQ, a popular barbecue brand out of Cincinnati that has moved into the Louisville market via area Krogers. And along with Eli's, there's a pizza section, full deli and more, plus a seating area in case you'd like to eat in the store. This Kroger also boasts a large parking lot. You don't have to park far away. There is also a gas station. The staff has always been friendly when I've interacted with them. This is a smaller sized Kroger store located in the Clifton area. I love this location as it is just minutes from my sons school. I stop in here about once a month to pick up anniversary or birthday plants or flowers. Their floral department is incredible! I've not shopped for my regular groceries here and not sure I would enjoy it. The floral department is what brings me in. They always have super cute and reasonably priced little arrangements. I also am Sure to grab a card and stick so when I deliver it to the recipient it has that extra special touch. read more

Had an opportunity to do a quick shop at the newly remodeled and just opened store. This store is huge and they have just about anything you would want especially fresh items. Fresh flowers, bakery, meats, seafood and even a nice Starbucks. My only problem was that it was so big I walked myself to death. I will go back when I have more time read more

How to turn a lifelong Kroger customer into someone that is never coming back: - Keep your customer service counter closed in the middle of the afternoon on your busiest day (Sunday) - Argue with the customer instead of taking a back the return of rotten, spoiled chicken ("Sir, customer service is closed. Sir, we've never taken back perishable items." Go away and leave me alone, in other words.) - Fill the aisles with stockers and Clicklist people so customers can't get to anything - Only stock half your store despite other stores having the missing items in stock - Arbitrarily change the pharmacy hours to close at 3 PM / 4 PM on weekends and 7 PM on weekdays - Raise your prices across the board and never put anything on sale Until and unless Kroger honors its policies, finds better management and pays its staff properly, I will be taking all my business elsewhere and giving it to local small businesses who give a damn. read more

I love this Kroger! I know that things are a little wonky since Covid but I have always felt like this Kroger does their best dealing with low staffing and sometimes low inventory. I see managers there all the time and it's apparent they work long hours and care about the store. I have also seen some very disrespectful customers that don't seem to understand or empathize at all when they are even slightly inconvenienced. I, however, am appreciative of all the hard work even with the challenges of the past few years. read more

I am a middle school special education teacher. I brought my students here for community based instruction 3 times per month. The staff were always incredibly kind and inclusive. They were always patient to let my students pay for their items as independently as possible ( even when there was a line) My students really enjoy coming here for these trips, and learned a lot from it. And it seemed like the staff enjoyed us coming ! They would make personalized comments to my students - saying how well they did or how much progress they have made this year. I love this Kroger senses The remodel a little over a year ago. They have a great selection for Cafe food, as well as an excellent cheese section. The staff is friendly and the store is always clean. On Wednesday they do $5 Sushi and hey also have the meals for two ranging from $14-$20. Great for people that like to cook but not to plan. Or for people that are in a rush to get in and out. read more

Tired of waiting in line for check out. The effort to force you to use self check out is relentless. If I wanted to do that I'd go to Walmart for most of the same brand names at much lower prices. Two lanes open for conventional check out. Maybe one lane with a bagger. There should not be 5 or more people waiting in line. If the managers won't help out themselves, the could reassign for a while as they do for cleanup in aisle 3. Annoying. read more

*No cashier & no manager during store hours!?* Drove 25 minutes to their Holiday Manor Center store at 6 am on Fri 2.5.21. I can only go food shopping once a month due to COVID-related issues at our home. When I brought up an overflowing cart to the front, I was told there was no cashier on duty. Neither was there a manager! A middle-aged Latina with poor command of English kept motioning me to the self-checkout area and throwing up her arms in despair. A gray-haired woman worker, who is a lifer for sure, kept saying,"I don't work up here." A crowd of workers gathered to enjoy the spectacle of an upset customer, yet not one person lifted a finger or made an effort to find a solution. Not-my-job was the best they could offer. When Krogers first started with self-checkout machines, many predicted that this was a corporate move to get rid of cashiers as a cost-saving measure. With an entirely Self-Checkout Krogers in Dallas, that day has now arrived. Managers and employees of the Village Manor Krogers have caught on fast. I left an overflowing cart of produce, frozen food, and groceries, right in the middle of the crowd of listless Kroger's workers and walked out of the store. Shabby corporate practices, absentee managers, and rude, unhelpful employees deserve no better response than to have to restock a cart spilling over with groceries. Goodbye Holiday Manor Center Krogers. It's been an experience. read more

I just moved to Louisville from Denver and I've tried a few Krogers in the area. I didn't have much luck finding the products I typically purchased in CO. The King Soopers (Kroger's brand in the West) often stocked a fair amount of organic brands at reasonable prices. I feel very happy to have tried this location. They stocked many of the organic brands I like and they offered reasonable prices with my card. Additionally, the staff here were extremely helpful and kind. I live in Cherokee Triangle, but I'll be making my way to this location to shop. Great location! read more

Anyone else having issues with Clicklist? 8 items missing from my order today. Went in the store and found 6 of the 8. Also they texted me and offered 3 substitutes which I declined. They ignored my wishes and charged me for the items...had to return them. 2 weeks ago the Clicklist employee told me I couldn't use my coupons because my Kroger card had expired. Went inside and customer service gladly took the coupons and assured me that Kroger cards don't expire. It's like they just don't care. Check your Clicklist order carefully! read more

I have not actually set foot inside this Kroger since their renovation and I shopped here only a handful of times prior to the renovation. How can I review it then? Clicklist. Yes, I have given in to the convenience of someone else doing my shopping. Years ago, I lived in an East Coast city without a car and took advantage of the early stages of internet grocery delivery for everything other than lightweight, fresh food items that I could carry in a backpack. After having a car, convenience shifted back towards price consciousness and the ability to browse. I also disliked my food sitting on my porch until I got home even though it was properly packed. Fast forward to Clicklist. Kroger food options are pretty standard, I am not likely to browse and find some interesting new ingredient or vegetable to search Google for recipes for. I know the food and I know what I want overall. I also hate that my work schedule means shopping at the busiest times of the day/week and well, I just don't like crowds. So far, the workers here that pack and unload the clicklist products have been friendly, efficient and effective. The $5 service fee can often be balanced by loading digital coupons to your card and simply in the time savings. From driving up to driving away, 4-6 minutes seems normal. Be aware that produce items like tomatos are priced by weight but sold by piece. I wasn't sure how that would work so I ordered "1" in the quantity for tomatos but instructed "1 lb, approx" since I did not relish the prospect of getting 5 lbs of tomatos instead of the roughly 5 individual tomatos I wanted. I got 1 single tomato so now I know that quantity is piece, not weight. One might consider this a plus or a minus, but store pickup really cuts back on impulse buying. On the negative, it means no shopping for "managers specials" with the price cuts. As such, I figure to use this store and online shopping for staples that don't get manager specials (canned/boxed/jarred goods, dry goods like paper towels, frozen items) and shop my local various groceries for fresh fruits and veggies that I can use quickly at a very good price. read more

This is not my regular store for grocery shopping but I was in the area recently and stopped in for a few items. The store has been recently remodeled which is always a plus. There is ample parking and the gas station is well-lit and convenient for fill-ups. I like the produce section and also the meat and cheese area. I do wish they had more of the small shopping carts. I know Kroger wants us all to fill up those baskets but I rarely need a large cart as I do my grocery shopping frequently buying smaller quantities. The staff is friendly and I especially like the deli and cheese people since they usually offer you a taste if they see you lingering in their area. All in all a good option for grocery shopping. read more

But first - I need to let you know they are CLOSING ON TUESDAY 3/29/16 FOR A COMPLETE RENOVATION. Just FYI. This Kroger has been around for a very long time and it really needs the remodel even though the neighborhood people have fought it tooth and nail for the last 5 years! Sorry folks, it's gotta go. Many of these wonderful employees have moved to other area Kroger stores during the remodel then they will be back for a big reopening celebration. This Kroger is not one of the best in town. There's nothing horribly wrong with it but the employees aren't ever very helpful and seem to hate their jobs. The lighting is horrendous which sounds funny but it's so dark I want to run. They do have a decent organic section though. They are always busy and the aisles get crazy with carts!
