Our dining group of 5 met here to support a 10% of all sales donation for one of our mutual friends. When we entered the lobby area for our dinner reservation, we reiterated the reason for our visit and reception staff handed us tokens to provide to our waitstaff at the end of our evening as a prompt. We were led upstairs to a somewhat cramped loft area to dine and were very careful with navigating the stairs. Lighting is very dim (see my photo of my dinner for instance) and noise level is moderate. Food is good. Service is okay. Ambiance at this price point was disappointing. Large parking lot with free parking. Make a point to visit the bathroom for a unique experience.

My friends and I went to Grassa Gramma for their brunch buffet. This buffet had a variety of options from today brunch food (waffles, made to order omelets, fruit) and traditional Italian food (meatballs, bolognese, chicken piccata). The brunch also came with unlimited juice, tea and coke products. Our server, Ellie, was attentive and informative of the menu. She also took care of an issue with our omelets. The omelets , although made to order, were cooked overcooked and rather salty. The staff did attempt to cater to our complaints. The ambiance was appealing and made the setting feel like a traditional restaurant in Italy. I enjoyed the live music. The staff were accommodating with taking photos for our group. Overall, it is a nice place for a Sunday brunch.

Grassa Gramma did an end of month shark week dinner named the great whites of Italy. Featuring some great white wines from Italy in honor of shark week. The meal included 6 course and an assortment of wines which included dessert for $99 a person plus tax. Was a great event, best money I spent in a while. All the courses were excellent. Service was great and the atmosphere was comical and wonderful. Get in the email list and tap in.

What a fabulous place to visit for an authentic Italian dinner! Our experience began when we approached the doors. They're huge, heavy, beautiful and imported from Egypt. Upon entry, we were greeted by staff and handed a glass of champagne to enjoy while we awaited the preparation of our table. The restaurant is dark, which adds to the ambiance. We selected a table on the balcony that overlooks a fountain in the middle of the restaurant. This place isn't short on theme/ambiance. My companion and I shared bread and a grilled Caesar salad before our separate entrees of beef and pesto lasagna. The food was outstanding and so was the service. I highly recommend this dining venue!

Talk about YUM! The lasagna is out of this world! It is a bit pricey but the portions are very large. They have a beautiful interior that makes you feel like you've stepped into a castle. The bar is absolutely gorgeous and all the fixtures, seating, even the restrooms make you feel like you're in Italy back in the day. The service has always been great each time I've gone. I just love Grassa Gramma I highly recommend if you are looking for a good Italian meal.

When my friend suggested we have a ladies' Friendsgiving at Grassa Gramma on the night when proceeds were going to Dare to Care, my answer was an easy yes. I had last enjoyed Grassa Gramma during the pandemic via some takeout, and I've been wanting to go back ever since. This time, I got got see the interior. Wow! I had heard the restaurant was impressive, but that didn't adequately describe the experience. Someone in my group said that the space used to be a former theater -- I believe it! Large wooden doors beckon you in, and every inch screams Italian, from the soft lights to the lush, comfortable interior. A second surprise: the complimentary chianti toast to set the tone for the meal. And that feel of celebration and cherishing the experience carried throughout. I got the cacio e pepe, my Italian go-to. And this was one of the best I've had. The cheese and pepper were in perfect harmony. I also started with the Caesar salad -- something else I'm definitely getting again. From first impressions to saying goodbye, this an A+ experience all around -- plus we got to help support Dare to Care. I can see why Grassa Gramma is one of the best restaurants in Louisville.

Delicious food, busy restaurant. We didn't have a reservation so it was bar service only but you can dine at the bar so that worked great. Felt a little less high end at the bar probably because they were slammed with well drinks and a full bar. Food came fast and was hot. They have 2 tvs at the bar and volume of music perfect. Food runners were so professional! Easy parking big lot shared with shopping center.

What an interesting find ...little piece of Italy in the Kroger parking lot. Very interesting decor and so much to see. If you are looking for some Instagram content this is the place for you. Service was excellent. They started us off by offering a traditional Chianti toast. We also for some delicious focaccia bread with olive oil. I enjoyed the chilled peach Caprese salad. I was not a fan of the lobster risotto but my friends loved it. The tiramisu was Devine ...apparently made with liqueur. My only complaint is that the music playing all night...was not Italian... which is definitely a missed opportunity to set the atmosphere.

Not the best espresso martini I have had, but oh my goodness the rest of the experience was impeccable!! Service was so attentive. Food well worth the price with generous portion sizes. The ambience has great dim lighting and still good for date night of big groups!

Interesting place, the ambiance is very unique. It's dark and moody. We had a table in bar area so had some light from the exterior windows. Our server was great very nice! The pasta was disappointing. I read many raving reviews and it was nothing special. I got the Ragu alla bolognese and the noodles were over cooked. The focaccia was good but over seasoned for me.

An instant Louisville favorite. The atmosphere inside is cozy and memorable - and the food is incredible! Not to mention outstanding service every single time! Everything you eat is freshly prepared and made to perfection! I've loved their cacio e pepe, ragu alla bolognese and petty cash pizza! Pro Tip: Make a reservation for Monday Night- the $22 Monday Meal Deal includes: - House Cesar Salad or Seasonal House Salad - Glass of House Red or White Wine - House Made Focaccia - Meal Deal Entree (tonight's special was vodka pasta with chicken or sausage)

3/19/26 my husband and I went to Grassa Gramma to celebrate my birthday. We love the atmosphere and decor here. Our server tonight was Ashley W. We were seated on the floor at what I like to call the Bicycle Table. We came on $22 Monday Meal Deal Night. It comes with a chosen pasta dish, a choice of a Caesar or a seasonal house salad, fresh baked focaccia and a glass of house red or white wine. The night we came, they had Rigatoni Bolognese. Oh my, it was absolutely delicious. Ashley came by very often to check on us and the Assistant Server came by as often to refill our water glasses and clear our plates. We had such a lovely time. I really enjoyed Ashley. She was so delightful. Our Rigatoni Bolognese was so good. We also ordered a slice of Limoncello Torte to celebrate my birthday. It was such a large portion that we took the remaining part home and enjoyed it later. We will be back again soon. Robyn

This place had been on my radar for quite some time. Multiple recommendations from others and I finally had the chance to try it and man did it exceed my expectations! The place is beautiful and definitely sets the scene. The service was great and attentive. But I'm here to talk about the food. It was spectacular. Started out with the carpaccio which I unfortunately did not get a picture of but it was delicious. I got the cacio e pepe and as a lover of black pepper it was amazing. My friend got the carbonara with chicken and she also really enjoyed her dish. My husband got the veal shank special on top of pesto gnocchi and that was something else. We will definitely be back.

What would be considered proper dress attire for this establishment? Casual?

At lunch, guests were dressed business casual. I wouldn't recommend t-shirts, but a polo shirt would be acceptable. Slacks, not faded jeans. At dinner, a sports jacket would be recommended.

Can this restaurant accommodate for an infant if my 4 month old accompanies me to an early dinner?

Yes! They have a main floor that is half booth, half tables and another space off the main floor that is primarily tables (although not as interesting). I'm unsure of what they have available in terms of an item to hold a baby carrier, but if you…

Do they offer a corkage fee for wine?

Is there a gluten free menu?

Yes we do have gluten free options, you can put on your reservation that you are looking for gluten free options, and your server and the kitchen will make sure to accommodate for you!

Would this be a good place for a group of 15 or so?

Yes but I would give advance notice so they can accommodate the group

    Is there a kids menu?

Hi and thank you. We have a kids menu although it is not printed. We make smaller portions pasta and can offer pizza with almost any topping. The menu is priced for the kiddos (buttered noodles $4, chicken alfredo $8, cheese pizza $7). Grassa…

I had the fried shrimp, and they clearly were NOT just frozen shrimp they'd bought somewhere and fried, these seemed homemade. . .definitely NOT typical mass-production shrimp. The food was pretty good. There's two things I would list as downsides, however. The first is that the wait for service was pretty long. It was quite a long wait from when I ordered until I got my food. That's a minor downside, given the quality. I got the picture they might not have a robust back-of-house staff. The second, and bigger downside is. . .I didn't go there expecting a seafood place! The well-worn sign out front still says "Deez Butts" BBQ, and I'd followed signs from the freeway exit thinking I was going to a barbecue joint. When I stepped inside, I pieced together as I was standing in line that the BBQ had closed and this was now a seafood place. It was good food, but I was expecting barbecue and was too hungry to bother hunting for another place to eat. I was left wondering if they couldn't afford to change the (well worn) sign out front. It just seemed a little odd that the sign out front is for a barbecue joint, but it's a seafood place inside.

Someone put it under broiler way too long, edges were black and it was very dry. I later took it home, added some marinara, sliced the burnt parts off. We all drank water, soda or tea and they kept our glasses filled. We ordered the pork chop dinner that came with risotto and vegetables. My husband loved the veggies and risotto but was not thrilled with the chop. He wishes he would have asked for a steak knife as it was difficult to cut with the butter knife provided. It was tender enough but neither of us cared for the flavor. I had the Primavera. It was a bit bland. I had to salt it several times. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. We had a piece of lemoncello cake that was flavorful, creamy and light. We both thought it was great. We had about $20 left on our gift card and were disappointed we couldn't use the balance as the tip. So we ordered two more desserts to bring home to use the balance of the gift card. We brought homemade a piece of Italian cream cake that was as good or better than the lemoncello cake and it was a huge piece of cake. We also have a piece of caramel sea salt cheesecake which was pretty good. It was loud in the small space and a bit difficult to have a conversation across the table. The background music did not help with this issue. The staff were friendly and helpful boxing up our leftovers. Tables have white cloth tablecloths and the owner was making rounds to greet all the patrons which was nice. We discovered there is parking in the back of the restaurant, as so many of the spaces in the area have signs indicating you will be towed if you park there. We had to park on the street about a block down.
