Located downstairs from Panda East, Kevin, the owner of Paul's Shoe Repair, did a fantastic job replacing the heels on my favorite boots. They looked brand new and were beautifully polished when I picked them up; I felt like I was like welcoming back some old friends! Excellent craftsmanship and well worth the $30 repair. I dropped off a backpack that needed a handle fixed. The job was great and it was done in a timely manner and wasn't expensive.

I had new soles put on a 15 year old pair of much loved boots. I expected a good job, what I got was phenomenal! They look and feel brand new, really amazing craftsmanship. Customer service was friendly and professional I can't recommend them highly enough, 5+ stars all the way around. 100% will use them the next time I need shoe repairs done. read more

I had a pair of Frye's repaired here (new heel and added rubber front sole) and the price was reasonable and the quality very good. I took another pair back to California with me thinking that there might be more price competition in California. Every shop that I went to quoted $10 more and the shop that I settled on, while fine, didn't do as good of a job as Paul's. At first, I was put off by the owner's serious demeanor. After stopping in for multiple repairs he was much more friendly. Also, the price of a small bottle of Lexol was better here than I could find anywhere else (including Walmart). read more

You know when you have a pair of favorite shoes or boots and wish you'd bought two pairs of them but they're not made anymore? Well, that's where Paul comes in. I have a pair of beloved backpacking leather boots, and the same boots weren't available. So I decided to see if I could give them a second life by bringing them into Paul's. He did a complete overhaul, sealing several places I didn't know were splitting from the leather. He waterproofed the boots and made them look and feel like handmade boots. His price was so reasonable--$30. This is the second boot rehab he's done for me. Last year I had a pair of waterproofed non-hiking boots that had worn out. The new models from the same company were just not the same. So I brought them into Paul's. He put on thick lug soles, waterproofed, and buffed them. They're like new boots again. My husband brought in his leather motorcycle boots to Paul two years ago. He gave them new soles and new life. It such a great feeling to get back old, comfy footwear that looks like new! read more

I love shoe repair places. A part of my general life philosophy is a belief that well-made, comfortable shoes are worth it, and that includes taking care of them and keeping them around by repairing them when they start to wear out. Thus, my forays into the musty shops full of old men and leather scraps and shelves full of shoes I've been to a lot of shoe repair places in a lot of different cities and really think Paul's is one of the better ones out there. Prices are fair, and better than I've paid in big-city shops, and the quality of the work is typically top-notch. Paul's has been around for as long as I can remember in the same little cave of a shop in the back of the building housing Bart's and Panda East, off the patio in front of Rao's. I think Paul's son is running the place. Nest time you have a pair of shoes punk out on you, take them in for a repair estimate before you toss 'em, you might be pleasantly surprised. read more

Paul is great! He just resoled a pair of Corcoran jump boots for me. I was able to pick them up in a week and the cost was very fair. The installation of the new soles looks great, and as far as I can tell, very sturdy. NOTE: This shop is open from Monday through Saturday! For some reason Yelp continues to state that this business is only open on Friday and Saturday, despite receiving multiple correction submissions - I even submitted one myself a while back. read more

YUCK! I would never trust this place with an old pair of sneakers...... I went into store and had to listen to this man sit on phone for 15 plus minutes talking to his friend about nothing....so I waited. I asked him how long it takes to get my shoes repaired and wondered how fast it could be done. I asked if it could be done by next weekend....he raised his voice and said "I'm busy and behind" ; I was taken back becasue I just asked how long it takes..... I then picked up my shoes and walked out. No reason to speak to a customer like that.... I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! read more

I've been taking shoes to Paul's for repair for at least 20 years. Everything from hiking boots to my father-in-laws favorite loafers. Recently my beloved Capezio Jazz shoes - a model that is no longer available - started to disintegrate and they were able to put new soles on them and make them good as new again, better in fact. I'm hoping to get another 10 years out of them! Fair prices and strongly recommended. Note that their Saturday hours are 8:30-12 only. read more
