I brought my best pair of shoes to be repaired for soles and heels and they came back better then new. He repairs things the old-fashioned way. A zipper came off one of my favorite Frye booties. They were sent to another shoe repair which threw on a new cheap looking stopper and pull which did not match (which bugged me), and broke immediately, after costing $40. On a whim I stopped in Arcade Shoe Repair, which I found on Google. He found a zipper that perfectly matched my other bootie, and had them fixed up in no time! Pricing was very reasonable at $25 for boots worth over $200. I noticed he even cleaned up the heels a bit which had some marks from a foster puppy chewing on them a little. I'm really appreciative and never going anywhere else for leather repair. I also love how the shop has a museum feel!

Unprofessional and a waste of the money I spent on parking.

So I decided to check other options. Two friends of ours told me to go here when I told them of my conundrum. Felix cheerfully took a pair of new Florsheims, and in a day, they were sized, comfortable, and shined with a good measure of wax (good for touch-ups). He only charged $10. I tipped him $5 -- and I still saved $20 over the cost charged by the other guy. On my next visit, I gave him a pair of $700 Italian loafers for the same treatment, and also gave him a well-used pair of light loafers that had a gap in the sole. He offered to fix the old loafers, but showed me a hole that he said would probably re-emerge because they'd been stretched too much. It was with a pang that I threw them away. I handed him ten dollars and told him I'm glad he didn't waste his time, or my money. Oh, the expensive loafers came out really, really nicely. Next up are a pair of winter boots from Ralph Lauren that need some saddle soap before I put 'em away for next year. Go here (the door's always locked so you must ring the bell). Your feet will thank you!

Before I pay I said I'll need to pick them up 15 mins earlier than the original time I said, and guess what? She increased the price to $110, not even two minutes after she says $90. I know the standard price would be no more than $70 at any other places. Instead of helping a broke college student out she decided that I was a prefect target to rip off. I know it was very rush and the price was just ridiculous.

Kevin is a true artist and a real gentleman. I own a leather bag given to me by my wife 25 years ago, and the bag was coming apart at the corners. Kevin made my bag better than new, and I have no doubt it will last another 25 years. I also had an older pair of Allen Edmonds shoes needing lots of attention. The manufacturer wanted $160 for a rebuild - Kevin returned them to pristine condition for less than half that amount. He matched the original materials perfectly, and I cannot get over how wonderful they look and feel. Kevin also stocks lots of great items to help with your shoes and other leather items. I bought a shoe horn, a horsehair brush, and leather conditioner for much less than you would pay at amazon. I cannot recommend Kevin enough! read more

I am super happy with the repair done on my favorite platform boots. The boot was coming off the sole and these are so comfortable I wasn't ready to toss them or replace them. It was $20 but sooooo worth it. I believe they are better sealed than when they were new. It's a tiny little spot that's kind of hard to find, but well worth it. read more

They picked through and examined the shirts meticulously, explaining why each one was either "already water damaged" or would need "special pressing" and thus my shirts would cost almost $15 a pop to clean. My friend brought a shirt in last year and after they cleaned it they told him never ot come again because the shirt was "too dirty". The quilt they refused to take because it "had too much cat hair" on it and it might break their machine. Really? Do these people want business or what? Do people bring them clothes that are already clean? These people live in a dream world.
