Pauls' reviews were so good I drove past 2 other smog places to use his services. I was not disappointed. Paul could not be a friendlier guy, and he knows his stuff. Yes... the dreaded smog check. In years past my husband always went to the local place in Santee. They took over new ownership and was charged $70.00 for a smog cert. Not only were we charged $70 but it took about an 1 1/2 to get done. I checked yelp for the next car and read the reviews. I handed them to my husband. He went there today and was very happy. Not only did he get in and out within 30 minutes but it was $45. A reasonable price. He said he liked the place it was quick and had nice reading material (important to my man while waiting). In the future we will be bringing all of our cars here. The best thing its a 1/2 mile from our house and we can support Lakeside local business. read more

Paul was great! Friendly, fast, helpful and cheap. Without a doubt the easiest smog test I've ever had. Well, he was easy, my car not so much. It took me a few tries to pass, over a couple weeks. It would've been a lot worse if he hadn't explained some details about why I was failing. From experience, many places want you to fail because it's more $ for them. Paul was honestly more interested in me passing than the $. Thank you again Paul! My only regret is not finding him years ago. I was referred here by my handy dandy mechanic! Mike from A&M I walked in with no appointment(which 3 other people thought it would be a good idea too) but no problem! I walked out 25 minutes later with a passed smog. $45 and a friendly staff!! The only weird thing are the hours 3PM-7PM I made the mistake of showing up at noon only to be disappointed. I had a hard time passing smog in my truck. Instead of taking my money every time I tried and sending me on my way. Paul helped me diagnose the issues I was having and would let me run a pre test again. Instead of just putting a catalytic converter on and getting the numbers in spec Paul made sure all other issues were fixed first so I didn't ruin my new cat prematurely.
