We had our driveway done during December of 2021. Due to the supply chain issues, pavetech used a new supplier of asphalt and in the end it was not the correct type of asphalt / looked good but not great. The owner Eddie acknowledged the mistake. Came out the next day to see the driveway. Agreed it wasn't correct and completely redid the driveway. No fuss. No fighting. Completely professional. Mistakes happen but business owners who take ownership of these issues are the types of businesses I want to work with again. Highly recommend this company. I had to call the owner who was not helpful and admitted that the patch was not done right. He used a contractor who came again and still did nothing to properly fix the patch. Technically, he brought years of experience to the project which clearly translated to a superb result. I echo some comments of the lower starred reviews. Pavetech was hired by our GC to repave our driveway and install a drywell back in 2020. TL;DR they told us and our GC to f'off when we tried to have them stand by their (faulty) work. After they finished the job, they told us the driveway would be soft, especially given the extremely hot weather, and told us to keep off until it could cure. Fast forward to summer of 2022 -- our driveway is still soft during the summer months. If you turn too quickly on it, it will scuff. Examining it after this winter in 2023, I can already identify cracking places, in addition to those areas that got previously damaged by the driveway never curing. We contacted them after 1 year to get the driveway sealcoated (per their original recommendation). They didn't respond to my email or phone calls, and only our GC could get through. They said it's not ready yet, try again next year. With our GC, we contacted them again a year later (2022, and after much arm twisting by our GC to get in touch) and also flagged the fact that the driveway is still soft and easily damaged. We got them on the phone and they (Eddie) told us to f'off and never contact them again. They want to use the excuse that our driveway is very sunny and used for parking, and so gets a lot more stress than others. This seems hard to believe. There are plenty of parking lots all over the place that are not nearly as brittle as ours and do just fine in the heat. What good is a driveway if it's too delicate to use? I'm sorry, but this is not a business that stands by its work. read more

About two years ago Pave Tech did our initial driveway and just recently we asked them to come back to give it a seal coat. After surviving two winters the driveway was in fine shape with just some very minor cracks in a few locations. The seal coat addressed that and looks great. Pave Tech: I wish we had hired them the first time we repaved our driveway! We had previously widened our driveway, and the masonry company that repaved it, we soon realized, were not what you would call paving professionals. Not only did it look really rough after less than three years, the masons hadn't considered that the increased surface area meant we would need increased drainage, and our garage flooded every time it rained heavily. Enter Pave Tech. Eddie came out for an estimate and was extremely diplomatic about the existing driveway. He gave us a reasonable quote and didn't try to upsell us on anything, even when we asked about adding a French drain. "You don't need it," he said, and he was absolutely right. What we needed was more drainage capacity (i.e., a honkin' big dry well), and the right grading to direct water away from the garage. The project ended up taking place a few weeks later than we had originally expected, but that didn't bother me. Like a lawyer, being busy tells me they do good work! It was fun to watch the old driveway demolition, which only took about half an hour. Neighborhood kids were definitely enjoying watching the heavy equipment the crew used to excavate a huge hole for the dry well and prepare the driveway surface for paving. I was impressed by how neatly they maneuvered the equipment in a pretty modest space. The paving itself was very satisfying to watch. The crew was efficient, organized, and did a great job on a really hot day. My next-door neighbor was so impressed that he stopped by to ask Eddie for a quote. The difference between our old driveway and the new one is night and day. Best of all, when it started raining yesterday, I stepped outside and saw that the dry well was working exactly as planned, and there was not a drop of water within 18 inches of our garage door. I chose Pave Tech after reading the many positive reviews that are posted online. Eddie and his crew did not disappoint! After my initial inquiry, Eddie stopped by, answered all of my questions, gave a fair price and provided an estimate of when he would be able to pave the driveway. On the day of the paving, the whole crew rolled in before 8:00 with all of the equipment. They quickly got to work excavating and then paving the driveway. Four hours later, they were done and on their way. The finished product looks great and I have no doubt is built to last. His price was fair and reasonable, and he explained what the job would entail to get the best results. He made a couple of suggestions about how he would do the job to make it even more attractive and to make the most out of the driveway space, maximizing the width but also adding grace to the shape. We hired PaveTech because of the other reviews we had seen and were not disappointed. The pandemic definitely threw a wrench in things and caused some delays in getting started but once the project was started (work was done in July), it was done quickly, with good quality and looks good, which was especially challenging because of the different grades around the driveway that had to be blended together to get a smooth driveway that was graded properly. I have to start by saying I'm 100% satisfied and couldn't be happier with Pave Tech. We wanted to widen/repave the driveway and add a brick walkway from the driveway to intersect with our main walkway so we didn't have to walk across the lawn. Since we were widening and not just resurfacing, it was required by our town that we use a town approved contractor. Eddie, the owner, was required to apply for this before they could start the work and let me say, the approval process was arduous. The town meets every two weeks to approve these requests. In short, after multiple phone calls, and the town losing paperwork, it was about 3 months until Eddie finally was approved. You're wondering why I waited and didn't just go with someone else? Throughout the whole process Eddie was persistent, would phone the permit office, and would even go down there to ensure things were moving along, and to get status. If I had questions he would respond almost immediately via phone call or text and he always kept me in the loop. He is by far the best contractor I've worked with. A standup guy for sure and a man of his word, which I find is hard to come by these days. After finally getting approved, his team came out and finished all the work in just 2 days! It was quite amazing. The finished product was incredible and my wife and I couldn't have been happier. Eddie even gave us some great suggestions on our initial design ideas that look great. Sure, we could have just went with another "approved" contractor but Eddie was such a good guy I just couldn't do it. One last thing...5 days after the driveway was done and we could park on it, I noticed a small amount of paver had washed away and left a small pot mark. I took a picture, sent it to Eddie, and a few minutes later he explained a small leak from my wife's car (gas, oil, maybe antifreeze) can eat up the paver mix and the recent rain most likely washed it away. No worries though! Eddie told me to get the leak fixed and then he'd come right out and fix it for us. Again, why I stuck it out. If you want a great experience with your project, I'd highly recommend Pave Tech. Just know that this kind of stuff means they are really busy so call sooner than later! read more

Pave Tech recently paved the very old asphalt driveway (removing the existing asphalt and supplementing the base material) at our home, and we were entirely satisfied with the experience, beginning to end. The proprietor (Eddie) met with me promptly after we contacted him, explained what he would do, had us a proposal in short order, accepted our comments on it and had the work completed, all in just over a month. The price, in our opinion, was reasonable, the paving looks great, the workman without exception were polite, considerate, and hardworking. Eddie himself spent a lot of time here overseeing the work and and doing some himself. The main work was completed in a day (quite a few workmen and machines) with minor touch up the following day and no real inconvenience to us. This was such a nice contrast to our experience with some other contractors. read more

Pave Tech recently repaved my driveway and did a very nice job. They first had to tear up my old cracked concrete driveway which only took a few hours. Then they installed a beautiful new asphalt driveway with paving stones lining the sides. Took two full days start to finish (after the necessary permits were obtained which is the longest part of the process). The workers were careful not to damage the flower beds that already lined the sides of the driveway. Overall, they did a nice job and I've got no complaints. read more

I found Pave Tech on a list from the City of Cambridge. Eddie was so easy to deal with - responsive to my texts, answered all my questions - and was significantly more reasonable than the other bids I had received. We had to wait for them to be available but it was worth the wait. The crew was so professional - the Bobcat operator was just AMAZING - they worked straight through with no break. The job was on a main street in Cambridge, to tear up and replace a driveway that was asphalt with concrete underneath and was more than 60 years old. The weather was not good, but they came in the morning and finished the job in one day, and did everything promised. After it was finished Eddie called to explain how to protect the new pavement and we chatted like we were old friends. I am so pleased. read more

The owner of the company did responded to my complaint and addressed my concern. Yes, they both came and met me at the job side and were willing to work with me making a correction. I appreciate their response and corrective action. ******************************************************************************** I hired PaveTech last fall, before the cold weather hit us. That is when the driveway problem starts. till now, the problem still persist and the owner is nowhere to see. PaveTech rushed through the paving job and cutting corners! Instead do two layer paving as all driveway need (binder and top layer), they only do one layer, save him labor and a trip. Worse, for my job, he rushed his labors through the dark night paving despite I insisted to have his crew coming back the next day when they can see the job to finish the paving. In Oct dark night, he order his crew work until 8:00pm, but told me that they will be back to finish the job next morning. Only after I spoke with the resident at the house and knowing, he lied to me and his crew did all the preparation and paving on the same night till 8:00 or 9:00pm in Oct 2013. As a result, there are several water paddles in the middle of the driveway. Worse, the driveway pitch did not prepared correctly and now the water back flow into the driveway each time rain, snow melt, etc. A $3000 job create a disaster. I called owner Eddie many times, from last Fall, he said he will definitely come back to fix it when the weather turns warm. Fine, I was patiently wait till this Spring, in April, one day I called, he said that he will be on vacation next week and will be back to fix it after vacation. Now three months past and we are into July, 2014, he never appears. I will suspect where all these 5 star review come from. I will definitely file complaint with BBB and filing suit for triple damage claim. read more
