Until I stumbled across this place, I was missing the Starbucks that used to be in Central Square at the crossing of Mass Ave and Prospect St which closed a couple years ago and is now a (sigh) Dunkin Donuts, since Cafe Nero down the street has mediocre-at-best fare though a nice ambiance. But this might be THE perfect cafe! Drinks/food are of course not cheap but not unreasonable for the location. More importantly, they are high quality and well prepared. I had green tea in a "pot for one" which came in a nice steel teapot and a ceramic cup, making it much more pleasant to drink from than the paper cup that Starbucks gives you plus more eco-friendly of course. You can order online to avoid the line and just pick up to go or to have there when you arrive. It's a cozy and pleasant place to spend an hour or two reading or working---they have some delightful window-side counters that can be used as standing desks with ample AC outlets to plug your laptop into, and great people-watching opps when you want to take a break. Music is a bit loud, so a pair of noise-cancelling earbuds or headphones is a must-have if you want some peace and quiet. Bathroom is just a single unisex one with a combo, sadly unventilated, but otherwise nothing horrible. Best of all, they are open until 11pm...I think I'm in love! read more

I was walking down Central Square when I came across a sign saying "Iced Kulfi Latte." I was intrigued and immediately went inside. It is a very chill coffee shop with people working on their laptops. They have mobile ordering stations where you can browse the wide selection of drinks. For an extra charge you can add a shot of alcohol to your drink. Good to know for the future when it is not super early in the morning. I was debating between the Almond Joy Latte and the Iced Kulfi Latte. I decided to go with the Iced Kulfi Latte as I never had one before. It packed the right amount of flavor with pistachio, cardamom, rose, and sweetened condensed milk. It tasted just like kulfi from India. At the end of the drink however it started tasting a little bitter and I was unable to finish it. I would come back here again for a quick cold brew or even to try one of their alcoholic beverages. I don't know what happened but I made an offer through Grub Hub to get an order and the delivery driver accidentally damaged the items. however instead of cancelling this or contacting me the proof of delivery was a photo of the spilled order from his car. i don't know how the items were packed but I never got any of the order I made. I contacted grub hub and they're working on it given this was a missing order and I can reach the Cambridge restaurant because of a telephone issue to rectify this more directly. disappointed. wont be ordering from them again. They offer an extensive menu of drinks including hot & iced coffee, espresso, lattes, teas, boba tea drinks, smoothies, Bagel Boys bagels, sweet & savory bakery items, desserts, soft serve ice cream, sundaes, donuts, made to order sandwiches, and dessert wines. You can order online, at the self serve touchscreen kiosk, or at the counter. I ordered a MangoTea Boba ($6.94 plus tax) with extra black sugar bobas (add $1) and a Cinnamon Roll ($5.95 plus tax). The Mango tea boba drink was sweet and refreshing with plenty chewy bobas to enhance my drink. The cinnamon roll was a bit dated and very firm. I saved the cinnamon roll to bring home so I could warm it up and enjoy with my coffee later on Overall, a good chill place to stop in a very busy area for light food and coffee & tea drinks. read more

I visited Jaho on mass ave today for the first time. The interior is nicely decorated and very clean. They have ordering machines and a person available for orders. They have an extensive menu. I decided to try the baklava and the matcha latte. For the matcha they had a lot of varieties: strawberry, turmeric, original, sugar. I got the original matcha but found it to be overly sweet, unlike the bitter taste I prefer. The baklava was 6.50 and the matcha was 6.00. 6.50 for a baklava is a bit steep. Unfortunately, due to the sweet drink and the price point of the treat I will not be in a hurry to return. read more

I'm a big fan of Jaho cafes and was so excited they were opening up a location in Central Square! There are always unique drinks, and their cafes have a nice ambiance for working. I came here on a weekday morning for a coffee chat, and ordered the apple spice latte with oat milk. It was so fall-coded and tasted wonderful. I would recommend ordering their drinks with less sugar, as they can get a bit heavy at times. This location has a nicely decorated interior, but there aren't as many seats compared to other locations. But it also isn't as crowded, so I guess that works out. Oof. Not sure what went wrong with my order, but what I ended up getting was a crime against boba. I got what looked like a seasonal drink--an apple cider-esque boba, although I don't recall the name. Though I specified less sweet, it was still way too sweet, and simultaneously unpleasantly sour. Even though you're ordering boba, the boba pearls aren't included with the drink and you have to pay an extra $1, which always makes the drink more expensive than advertised. The pearls were super mushy--think the consistency of overcooked peas and you'll get something like that. I actually cannot think of a time where I had worse boba--this is the worst I've ever had, and I've been to Moge Tea. My fiance got a pumpkin spice latte; he said it was fine, not the best coffee he's ever had. He did like that it was less sweet than a Starbucks latte.
