I really like Vester. I love its convenient location in Kendall and the fact that it's women-owned. There's an abundant amount of space to eat and work on your laptop and chat with friends. The menu was designed for a basic b like me - matcha, a Caesar wrap, a turkey and brie sandwich, hot honey grilled cheese, etc. It actually reminds me a lot of Tatte before it got mega-franchised. I had a bunch of ClassPass credits about to expire and they're now doing food options on the app so I went with the buttermilk chicken wrap and the turkey green goddess sandwich. The wrap was by far the better option, though I had assumed it'd be crispy chicken but we got grilled instead. This boost in health was of course cancelled out by the generous side of house-made potato chips on the side. The turkey green goddess sandwich suffered a tad from a skewed bread to filling ratio. While there was a good amount of meat, avocado, veggies inside, the focaccia was a little unwieldy and too thick and I ended up just eating most of the filling with my bare hands like an animal. I'd swap out the focaccia for sourdough in the future. Bathrooms were clean. Parking can be a struggle during the week but we were able to find a spot nearby on a Sunday afternoon without any issues. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in all of Boston. They are always packed for good reason. Tons of seating throughout to work from home or meet up with friends. I went there to try the honey cinnamon latte and absolutely loved it. I also ordered "girl dinner" for lunch. It came with a caesar salad and truffle fries. Both were great sizes for the price and could even be shared. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful too. Tip - if the line is really long, you can find a seat and order online. have seen this coffee shop all over tiktok so I figured I would come give it a try. I came during the week and it was packed with people working from home. I ordered a strawberry and cream latte which was a February special. It came with strawberry cold foam which was delicious. I was able to taste the espresso and the strawberry flavor really well. I also decided to order their steak and cheese sandwich which came with potato chips. This was high quality coffee shop food. Nothing was frozen and you can tell it was made fresh. I also want to add that their prices are very good compared to other coffee shops. My large specialty coffee was $7.50. Most places charge close to $10 for that. Given it's location, Vester was busy on a weekday during the lunch hour -- plenty of people in their business casual dresware grabbing something to go or taking a table. We managed to find a tall table in a corner to sit at. I ordered the kimchi grilled cheese with homemade potato chips. The grilled cheese was perfectly crispy with a fierce bite thanks to the kimchi. The homemade potato chips were thin-cut and crunchy, without that overly-greasy taste that homemade chips can sometimes take on. The layout creates almost two "rooms" with some seating near the cashiers, more in the back, and some space outdoors as well. It's café-style where you order at the registers up front, but food is brought to your table and you bus it yourself when you're done. I had the autumn salad, which was quite tasty. I prefer the sweet potatoes at other similar cafés (like Sweetgreen and Flour) more, but it wasn't bad. I would've loved a little more salad dressing, but overall was quite happy with it! On the other hand, the matcha latte was a little weak for my taste. Despite being a popular order, it didn't have much matcha flavor and felt a little watery, so I wouldn't get that again. This is such a gem of a cafe!!! Wow!!! Definitely my new favorite in the Boston/Cambridge area. I got an iced latte with coco-ube syrup, it was some of the tastiest iced coffee I have ever had. Ube is such a unique flavor and it compliments coffee very well. I would describe it as sweet potatoey, vanilla-y, and earthy. My friend got an iced cookie butter matcha, and while the cookie butter wasn't super strong of a flavor, the matcha itself was very good. For food, we ordered their signature avocado toast and the buttermilk chicken avocado wrap with homemade chips. The avocado toast was the best avocado toast I have ever had - completely out of this world! The lemon juice and zest made such a difference, and the cilantro and black salt were a great addition. I found out about Vester from looking up places to do work and it really stood out to me! They not only have a great selection of drinks especially different types of matcha (the Ube and pistachio ones are so fun and flavorful), but also a wide range of food! Vester is my favorite cafe in Cambridge, maybe my favorite cafe ever. Their matcha is better quality than any other coffee shop I've found. I love the coco ube matcha and the regular matcha latte as well. Their coffee drinks are great too, although they skew towards being very sweet, so if you're not a fan of that you might want to ask them for it less sweet! My favorite foods here are the avocado toast and the veggie breakfast burrito. I don't know how, but they manage to get perfectly ripe avocado 95% of the time, which in Massachusetts is a feat. The black salt and the fresh herbs/lemon zest really elevates this avocado toast above others. The veggie breakfast burrito comes in a soft flour tortilla, and the scrambled eggs are light and fluffy. I highly recommend grabbing some of the little hot sauce packets they have to put on the burrito! I've also catered from here for large work events, and they were timely and easy to communicate with. This minority, female owned, cafe features an awesome selection of breakfast items and delicious coffee drinks. For drinks we had the matcha latte with strawberry cloud and the red velvet iced latte special with espresso white chocolate, and vanilla bean cloud. These drinks were delicious! For breakfast specific items we had their signature avocado toast which had fresh chives, lemon , black salt and olive oil. We also had their Asian Salmon Salad which contained crisp mixes greens, fresh radish, edamame beans, smoked salmon and honey ginger dressing. For more lunch specific items we had the vegan quinoa wrap which had homemade sweet and savory tomato jam, hummus, greens, avocado, tomato, and a balsamic drizzle. I ordered one of the seasonal specials, the Lavender Haze with oat milk. It was really tasty and didn't take long to prepare. I tried the turkey and brie sandwich ($14) which was pretty sweet overall due to the fig jam. The sourdough bread was toasted and crispy on the outside but a little greasy. As I mentioned above, the homemade chips on the side are so homemade that they cooked a hair into them... I also got to try the croque madame ($14). This sandwich was also on toasted sourdough bread with a super melty, smoky, cheesy inside. The iced matcha latte ($4.50 small) was pretty standard and tasty. Prepare to pay an extra $1 for oatmilk! The matcha was mixed nicely and the strawberry cream added a nice hint of sweetness to balance out the bitterness of the matcha.
