Very poor standard Indian restaurant. My lamb curry was tough, sauce insipid. Veg dish no better. Avoid.

Tucked away in a plaza on Route 103 in Riverside, Swad has a nice decor and every time I visit there are at least a few tables full. Swad features a Himalayan dumpling called a Momo that is pretty incredible - lovely spices and so much fun to eat. There is a vegetarian Momo in addition to one with lamb. The butter chicken is apparently well loved and I tried it twice - once takeout, and once in the restaurant; my eleven year old told me it is her favorite chicken dish ever, FWIW. I also tried the chicken Madras and a few of the apps. Everything was very well made. Really thrilled that Swad is in Riverside!

It was definitely one of the best I've ever had. Totally balanced & rich & delicious. The whole stuff was so kind & gracious - we were a loud-laughing group but never felt out of place. They sent out a special rice pudding dish for us at the end & we felt like celebrities. Also, what a treat to meet Raj, the owner! Wishing them the best of success for the future. Riverside is lucky to have them.

And ended with rasmalai. Everything was flavored so well. We ordered the fried okra, which was surprisingly unique and absolutely delicious. Perfectly fried with a savory flavor and just a touch of sweetness definitely a standout. For mains, we had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Both were creamy, rich, and full of flavor, and the white rice was cooked perfectly. We also tried the naan bread, including the onion naan, which was generously stuffed and packed with flavor. To drink, we had a mango lassi and fresh lemonade, both refreshing and a great pairing with the meal. Overall, we were really impressed and truly enjoyed our experience. We'll definitely be back.

They need to fix this asap - it's a food safety issue. I am NOT exaggerating. When I have dined it, it has been very difficult to get the attention of the servers. They spend a lot of time speaking to Thai people while ignoring others. Ten minutes after receiving my order, on three separate occasions, I had to get up and go to the counter to ask for the sauce or water or the naan bread that they got wrong. I had already asked the waiter for all of that. Other times, I've been given a chicken dish when I asked for shrimp, then had to wait another 15 minutes while it was prepared. No apology, no nothing. Food is sometimes quite good; other times overcooked and not so good. Inconsistent describes it best. Quality varies a lot depending when you go. The managers or owners ‍ have been dismissive when I've mentioned anything about the food. I ordered takeout one time and was sitting there 20 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready. I kept checking and the manager kept saying that it was coming. There was a package on the counter that had been sitting there a while. I asked him directly if it was mine. He FINALLY looked at it and it was. Again, no apology. Cold when I got it home. I called to say so and was told that I could come back if I wanted a new one! I had already waited 20 minutes, it was evening, and they expected me to come back after driving all the way home. I explained that and simply asked for a credit for next time. Really rude. He said that he couldn't do that unless I returned with the food. I had tried the place five times after having problems just like this a couple years before. I told him that I'd never come back again, and that he could keep my money. He just hung up the phone. It's the inattentive and downright surly attitude of the management as much as the food quality that stopped me from going anymore. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Since the bad experiences at AhHa, I have been going to the Turmeric House in Weymouth. Consistently good food and always friendly service!!! I mentioned what had happened at AhHa. The manager laughed and said that many of their customers had the same story and had become good customers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Turmeric House!!

I'd definitely come back, but their prices make this more of a special treat than an everyday meal.
