BEST pad Thai! I have a gluten and dairy allergy and Thai ocha has no problem accommodating me. I can safely eat here without getting sick. I always get the chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai sauce is soooo flavorful & yummy! It's not dry and bland like other pad Thai sauces I've had. The owner is wicked friendly & always serves us with a big smile. The food was decent but nothing remarkable. The curry dish was ordered with chicken and seemed to have very little. The pad thai noodle was not to my particular liking. The fried rice dish was serviceable. We were craving Thai food and felt this wasn't worth a second visit. Wish I could be more positive but it was not what we had hoped for. Note that their rules and method of operating is unusual so make sure you read up on their instructions before ordering. Didn't even get a chance to eat. Arrived at 7:40 on a Friday night in December. I knew they would be closing at 8, but figured we could order to go. Nope, turns out that you have to call ahead, too bad that wasn't mentioned online anywhere. We were told in an unwelcoming and dismissive way that they wouldn't take another order. So much amazing food. Seriously, so much. Between three people we ordered half their menu and everything about the experience of ordering here was 5 stars. The owner was so friendly and polite over the phone when we placed our order and called us when the food was a few minutes away from being ready. When we pulled up, he was at the window where he was ringing up pick up orders so he was able to call our name when everything was ready. Okay now to the food! Amazing veggie fried rice, AMAZING pad see ew, really tasty pad thai and everything else was pretty incredible as well. So much flavor, so much food for the price. This is a small takeout-only establishment with only a window through which you can receive and pay for your takeout. You must call ahead to order rather than at the window, and there is no seating available. That said, the food itself was amazing. We ordered a chicken pad thai and beef pad see ew, both of which were far above average. Don't let the building's appearance fool you, the food is actually quite good and very reasonably priced, especially considering this area in Cape Cod where the majority of restaurants are selling expensive seafood dishes. Love this place. My little kids love the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and we always get pad Thai. This place is very good and often gets busy, so make sure to call as soon as you can and be flexible with pickup times. We stumbled upon Thai Ocha when looking for different take-out options nearby. They only do take-out at the moment, and at peak times during the high season, we got a message saying that they weren't taking orders due to volume. I guess that's a good sign that we aren't the only fans. And we are BIG fans. Curries are amazing (remember to order rice with it), and you can pick from 1-5 for spicy. 1 is mild. 3 is ouch hot hot. I think we'll stick with 1 & 2. The mango curry is good, but I love the yellow curry with big chunks of veggies. All of their protein selections are very good - we especially like their tofu, chicken, and pork. The noodle dishes are equally delightful, especially Pad Thai. The Thai Spaghetti is fun and delicious, though we found the meatballs that came with it to be bland. Next time, I'll order it with another protein, probably beef. Thai iced tea is perfect, desserts are delightful (oh, sticky rice, I love you!), and their spring rolls are crispy, tasty, and fresh. Service is excellent. If they say it's 40 minutes, it's 35-40 minutes, on the nose. Accuracy with estimated takeout time is important to us. The person who takes phone orders waves you over when your order is ready, and handles payment through the takeout window. I think he's either the owner or co-owner; either way, he's funny, efficient, and pleasant. We've ordered many times and never had an incorrect order. read more

Compared to other Thai restaurants in this area, I was not impressed. The owner and his wife are very kind, pleasant, and accommodating. I ordered from here 2 or 3 times as I live just down the street and heard great things before Covid hit. During the pandemic, I found the food to be rather bland and the soup highly salted. I have not and probably will not go back as I have found other Thai places I like and just prefer to eat at and not have to take out. I cannot speak to the ambiance as I have never been able to set foot inside that restaurant, which may or may not be a shame. The pad see ew and sauteed veggies, also fresh and good. The chicken satay was moist and tasty as well. The gentleman on the phone communicated well and set good expectations on timing. Very bad experience. I called to inquire about the hours of operation and menu. The owner was very short with me and wouldn't give me a answer on when they close. I hung up and looked at the menu on line. We decided to order a combination of appetizer and soups. I called he answered and I had a few questions, he cut me off and yelled "how many dinners?" I said I'm ordering appetizers, he cut me off!! He said I don't cate about the appetizer " how many dinners?" Again I said I'm getting.. he yells at me saying I'm wasting time and it could take an hour!! He was the rudest person and we will never give him our business. We live on Cape year round so his loss. I am so happy a friend recommended this restaurant to us years ago. As year round residents we try to order weekly as the food is so fresh and delicious and quite frankly we crave it. I truly will never understand the mindset of a 1 star reviewer. John and his wife are quite possibly the nicest people I have come across on cape cod and are allowed to run their business as they see fit. So stop your complaining and just plan ahead and call early to order your food...or better yet grab an application and try working for a busy restaurant yourself. The worst - very rude. Placed part of my order and then was placed on hold and then hung up on. Tried calling back numerous times with no answer and no call back. Don't waste your time - food isn't worth it. In response to your response - I confirmed with one person what they wanted to order and told your staff I have one more thing to order before being abruptly put on hold and then hung up on. Also I only ordered 4 things so let's not make it like this call lasted very long. Your staff is very impatient and the poor customer service is apparent based on other reviews. Unexpected good Thai in the Cape when needing a change from the typical seafood. It wasn't very crowded when we came in but the definitely had a good flow of call in orders. We ordered a pad see ew and a chicken curry. Both orders came out fairly quickly and were a good amount of food. Had I realized the quantity of veggies in the pad see ew, I would have opted to just get veggie instead of chicken. Now I wish other Thai places would also include carrots and mushrooms in addition to the typical broccoli. The noodles were a little thinner than what is typically served, but I think it made it easier to eat. I was told the curry was also very good, loaded with meat and veggies, and not too spicy. We had very good Thai food at Thai Ocha Cafe. It's takeout only...you let them know what car you have so that they can wave you up when your food is ready, Every dish was flavorful and generous. The basil fried rice was spicy and delicious. Equally good was the red curry, pad Thai, papaya salad, crab rolls, steamed dumplings and chicken satay. Placed an order for Pho over the phone with the owner- very nice guy at the time. Specified no cilantro and add veggies to the Pho. Picked up my order, got home, and the soup container had warped/ melted and half the quart spilled in the bag. When I called to let them know, the guy started arguing with me that it wasn't possible because they poke a hole in the lid. Their steaming hot broth is served in a cheap thin quart container and taped shut. I continued to open the meal, and it was just noodles and chicken- no veggies, and covered in hot chopped cilantro, sitting in a paper bag filled with broth. All I wanted was a replacement because I was starving- and I told him that. He wouldn't offer that and instead told me he wouldn't charge me for it. I didn't care about the cost at that point. He rushed me off the phone because he was too busy to deal and that was that. On top of everything- it took forever to get through to begin with to even place an order- when they get busy, they stop answering their phones and an automated message tells you to call back later on then hangs up on you. Friends and family have had similar experiences here and just cannot get through- they just close up when they get busy during open hours. You cannot place orders in person at the restaurant. Owner is a jerk and gets very defensive and angry if you have something to say. read more

Service is consistently great, quick, very friendly employees and also polite (on the phone, as well as in person.) We have had: the coconut shrimp (delicious); Thai rolls (good & not greasy); chicken satay (cooked perfectly); the pineapple fried rice with tofu (I love the concept using pineapple and raisins); hot & sour, wonton soup and my ultimate favorite Pho noodle soup (omg best soups EVER!!! Seriously cooked to perfection, delicious!! Wish I could figure out how to imitate the broth, it's so good I've literally had dreams about eating their pho ) yellow curry with tofu (fantastic, just the right amount of everything - yum!) and the cashew nut entree with crispy chicken is delicious! The veggies are always noticeably fresh; nothing ever tastes too salty or greasy - I'd even say everything is cooked to perfection. This is a take out and casual style Thai food restaurant. You place your order at the counter, serve yourself utensils and water, pay and then if eating in, your meal is delivered to your table. The owner says they get too much foot traffic in the summer to do table service, so you have to order at the counter. As first timers, it was slightly awkward because we weren't aware of the routine, and we missed the sign at the door explaining the service process. This is why I couldn't give it 5 stars, also because liquor is not available, and my dinner was too sweet (see below). The locals were coming in for take-out and it seemed like they were all regulars. That's usually a good sign. We started with delicious fried chicken wontons (8-9 pieces) and fresh roll (served cut into 6 pieces), which was the first time we've seen them served like this, but it certainly made them easier to eat. Then my husband had a chu chee curry with crispy chicken on top. The crispy chicken was really great, the yellow curry sauce was delicious, and the veggies seemed like a combo of fresh carrots and a (previously frozen) little square carrots/peas mixture. I ordered the sweet and sour dish with shrimp. This dish had sauce that was very sweet, too sweet for my taste. However, the 4-5 shrimp were large and the veggies plentiful. The side order of sticky rice (add $1.50) was perfectly cooked. The whole meal was around $40. Then we cleaned up our own table. I guess when we chose to go out for dinner, we were hoping for a higher level of service (typical of most Thai restaurants we go to). If we went back for dinner, we would take a nod from the locals and get take out. read more
