I love the log cabin, outdoorsy feel of the brewery. It's definitely a large brewery compared to most I've seen and been to. When you first enter, they have a little gift shop with t shirts and other brewery souvenirs. We chilled at the bar. I ordered the blue bayou pastry sour. My wife and I split the club sandwich and chips. I'm glad we did. They give you a lot of food! The beer was good, and the food was good. The bartenders were friendly. I always stop & eat at Paw Paw Brewing when I'm in that area. However, my visit this past Sunday was terrible. My mom & I both ordered the "Bloody Mary Bar". It wasn't really a "Bloody Mary bar" as it was not set out for self service but there was lots of toppings to pick from on a list. We both ordered "Zesty" (spicy). When they arrived mine tasted terrible & hers tasted good. Others at the table tasted both & all agreed. I bought this to the attention of our waitress when I finally found her, as she disappeared a lot! She took mine back, added something & returned it. She stated that both drinks where the same but they clearly where not the same! I asked her to remake mine to which she refused until I talked to a manager. The manager remade mine & it was better. The waitress barely talked & we barely seen her. Even when we she bought items to the table, she did a drop & run, never asking if we needed refills or anything. The burgers have been great in the past but where just OK this time. Whole visit was off, we won't be back anytime soon. The place is pretty cool with a train mural on the building & arcade inside. Over the course of a lifetime, with the hundreds of breweries I've been to, it still always a surprised walking into a new one. Each brewery is always different and an adventure all on its own. I think when I go to the smaller towns I'm always surprised to see that the breweries are quite large. On one hand it's definitely small town bias and stereotyping on my part, and on the other hand it makes sense because every town needs a social meeting point. SO obviously it makes sense. But none of this is neither here nor there. Walking in the brewery is a large space and actually well built for families. The tables are well spread out so there is no cramped in feeling, the bar is humongous itself so no matter where you choose to sit there is plenty of room. I sat at the bar like I usually do and was greeted by [surprise surprise] a very nice bearded bartender who was was versed in both the beer and food menus. There is a very nice variety of choices on both menus and most everyone should be able to find something to please them. As per my usual, I always try to order a burger the first time because as you can tell by my construction barrel shaped body, I do love my burgers. I ordered the 2 Paw Deluxe and was absolutely delighted by the experience. The banana peppers were a nice tangy, spicy addition to a great burger. It was a nice surprise which I've added to my own home grilling. A bonus to the the whole experience is the little video game/pinball room in the back. Cause this boy plays a mean pin ball!!! Ordered the Fajita Salad. When it arrived the onions and peppers were raw and the chicken was cold. I my 20 yrs in the culinary field the peppers and onions were cooked with the chicken the placed hot on top of the salad mix. The portion size was good tho. read more

We went on a Tuesday during the week for lunch with a group of four adults and two toddlers for the first time and this place is large and in charge. There are many tables, a bartop area, a stage that spans the depth of the building, a shop featuring copious amounts of Great Lakes gear, beer to go, and an arcade that takes quarters. I fell in love with our appetizers which were Dill Pickle Spears and the Onion Ring Basket. The Pickle Spears had chopped dill mixed into the batter to really hype-up the pickle-iness of the pickles. The Onion Ring Basket was my surprise favorite due to its ultra-wide cut of the onion and not shy use of the thick batter and Chipotle ranch. Dare I say these are more lush and even better than Portillo's onion rings? I do, I do say that. If you get the Cuban Sandwich Sly's Style they add extra pickles and "angry" mustard so only select this option if you want to add some bonus spice to your Cuban. Our entire table enjoyed the Paw Paw Straw (Strawberry) Wheat Beer and the Raspberry Wheat Beer, which was more of a sour due to the tartness of the raspberry. Finding out there was an arcade on site was a great surprise and a fantastic way to entertain the cherubs for let's be real 20 minutes. There is a machine that exchanges your cash for quarters and some of the games include pinball, air hockey (give it a good wack after you pay to get the puck out), skee ball, and some crane games. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever received ANYWHERE, we had a group of about 30 and called ahead days in advance, we arrived and immediately service was slow, we wait about 30-45 minutes for our meal, some of us more than an hour at this point it was us and 2 other tables of 3, some deep fried items had raw breading but not meat, they refused to give a discount. Our food was lukewarm, many of our meals made incorrectly. We had a few of our party members walk out due to an hour and 15 minute wait on food. They had only consumed water. Then the bartender, looked to be management of some sort, went to one of our tables and threatened to call the cops if we didn't pay for our meals, even though there were no indications of us doing so, he then called them "F'ers" as he walked away from their table, then proceeded to audibly call our table "F'ing B,std M'frs." As soon as we saw this we immediately asked for our checks, noticing a 20% gratuity on every check, as we were about to leave and say our goodbyes, our waiter taps the bartender on the shoulder and points at us, the bartender then proceeds to mouth something to us and about us. This is the nastiest service I have ever received. I strongly recommend you to avoid this place at all cost, the food was terrible, and the service was nasty. read more

Awe. Paw Paw aka 2Paws from when we were kids and rivals in school now has a brewery (it's been there a while, but I moved away beforehand). The space is pretty large with I believe a private room even and a nice large patio out the front. We were there early so had the pick of the place to sit and just take everything in, they do have food, but we were there early enough for just a flight and move along to showing Ben around. We tried their Citra Melon Session Ale, Dry Dock IPA, Sour Bronco Brown, St. James & the Giant Peach. They do have a pretty cool shop in there with local beer type stuff that I loved but of course wouldn't have had room to bring back with us. Interesting brewery off the highway. Actually not incredibly easy to find... large building with patio and stage. Little confusion when we sat down and quickly service figured that out and got our drinks and appetizer very quickly. The restaurant was steady and of course nothing available on the patio. Poutine and tacos were the main. Lobster balls and fried pork skins with garlic as apps. Skins affordable and hands down the winner for apps! Freshly made and popping at the table (still eatable). Good Beer, Super Lousy Service Should a person consistently request/beg for service? Came in & was greeted, asked if they did flights. Server abruptly left me with a piece of paper and told me she "had something else she needed to do" (exact words). After a little bit, a guy asked the gentleman next to me (by name) if he needed another beer. The guy said yeah, and this lady has been waiting to order a flight. Am I invisible? I have nothing in front of me! Got my flight, didn't ask me if I wanted a menu. I asked for one after a few minutes. Got a pretzel no mustard, asked for that, this young lady was super pleasant. However the accessory with silverware and napkins in front of me sat empty the entire time I sat here, been sitting here about an hour now, it's still empty. Would have been nice to have a napkin, but I was tired of asking for mediocre service. They appear to be adequately staffed, it's a little busy, Sunday I suppose. Was never checked back on, or did anyone ask me if I needed anything else, dessert etc. Appears regulars do get better attention. Nice young man in an aqua shirt just asked how I was doing. I met a friend for lunch one afternoon, and we decided to eat outside. It had been several years since I had last visited, and I could see the brewery had increased or improved the seating. She had the Turkey Avo, which was turkey, avocado, etc., on focaccio; I had the Reuben on grilled rye and the brewery's root beer. On one hand, the corned beef brisket was in large chunks rather than thin deli slices, and that impressed me. On the other hand, the sauerkraut & Thousand Island dressing were forgettable, & the marbled rye bread had sat too long on the flat top, so it very well toasted. My lunch date said, "I wouldn't eat a sandwich made that way." I, on the other hand, would. And I did. Yumm. Our server was attentive & efficient without being a pest. We liked her. read more

I ordered one of the fruit wheat beers and although good, the fruit flavor was just not hitting the expectations one would have. My fav item off the menu was the fried pork skins they make in house! Wow! I haven't been back to this area in several years and came back and found a gem! This place was amazing! Also if you like gin... buy a bottle of it from here!! It is sooooooo smooth!! We had a mushroom balsamic flatbread and jalapeño poppers and discovered right away that the food was amazing! They have a seafood restaurant up the street that I absolutely can't wait try now. They were fairly busy so it took a bit to get some drinks in front of us.. meanwhile we looked over the menu and it had a pretty wide variety of foods to choose from.. I was really surprised to see meatloaf on the menu because hardly anyone serves it anymore so.. I had the meatloaf. I have to say that I was impressed by the taste. Usually any time I've had meatloaf at a restaurant it was"peppery". But the meatloaf here was very good and it came with some mashed potatoes and the house vegetable and a salad.. I felt like I got my monies worth there.. My son had the Mac and Cheese that had chicken in it. He told me although the food was good that it would taste better with white meat ( chicken ) or even brisket in the dish instead of being cooked with dark meat .. a couple of Cokes went with our meals.. all in all dinner was a bit pricey but good.. I went with a large group of friends twice, the waitress are always very nice and the Wensday Music Bingos are the best so much hype and everyone has an absolutely great time. Food is a bit pricy which is hard for any of my younger age group out there but definitely worth it. I can't remember if what we got were the crab or lobster cakes but either way they were absolutely delicious, 10/10 would go again read more

It's a shame we have waited so long to try the food here when it's right in our hometown. My wife tried the Pesto Chicken sandwich and I ordered the Fire Station #3 burger. My wife's chicken sandwich was good but I did not expect my burger to be one of the best tasting burgers I have had in awhile. Even though it sounds like it might be too hot with heat coming from pepper jack cheese, banana peppers, jalapeño, LT's Angry Mustard and chipotle mayo, but it was just perfect. Everything fit very well on the bun and did not fall apart while eating. The charing on the burger made it even better. I also cannot explain why the seemingly ordinary fries tasted so good. I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday after going to St. Julian for wine tasting. We were very surprised to see it wasn't slammed on a Saturday afternoon. It's basically an old factory or warehouse type building turned western but in a modern way. It looked really cool inside, with a stage area and a little gift shop. There's also a small arcade next to the restrooms with some old pinball machines and a few others. To drink, I had a cider and he had a peanut butter porter and a German bock beer. My friends all told me to get the poutine, and we were not disappointed. It comes with either pulled pork or short ribs on top and we chose the short rib. The meat was perfectly smoky and tender and went perfectly with the beef mushroom gravy and cheese. Over top of waffle fries, need I say more? I enjoyed my margherita pizza, he had the pulled pork sandwich. We kept going back to the poutine though. I felt the barbecue pork would have been fine on its own, as it's served with coleslaw on it and it was also sweet instead of more vinegary to balance the bbq sweetness. There was no room for dessert and everything was fairly priced. Will be back again. read more
